In case you didnt know, or others dont know (i didnt until recently), cellophane bags are a good choice as they are made from plant extract and although cant be recycled, they are biodegradable. Good video.👍
Great detailed video on your card making process. I really like the colours in your artwork. I do see some similarities and differences to the way I make my cards in my own greeting card video on my channel. It's interesting that we both use a very different approach to creating that bend in the card!
Good little intro to card making. I have the same folder tray you do. You may wish to consider getting a bone folder. To me, they feel a little smoother when running them along the paper than the default yellow knife does. (Though it obviously works). I'm not sure how many prints you get out of your cartridges for your printer, but should it break down on you for some reason you might want to consider the the Epson Ecotank 8500 or 8550. I enjoy mine very much. Canon also makes an intank type printer but I cannot speak to the quality etc.
Thanks for the good information. Here in the States, the biggest card manufacturer is Hallmark who get a lot of money per card, and the ideas that go into them are less than desirable. That's why you should do your own, and hopefully, you might do it for less. Good luck with your business! 😀
Omg! I love making greeting cards ( novice ) you have sertainly taken card making to another level. Your greeting cards are so vibrant. Your cards are better than shop bought may I say moonpig lol. I want to print little cards with text and a logo on the back to put in jewlery boxes. Not sure what the best way to go about it is. My printer can take thick paper and it will print nicely if I just print one on A4 paper, but it wastes a lot of money and paper that way... Any tips?
hey Michelle! Do you mean A6 sized cards when folded? As you can only fit one A5 greetings card onto an A4 sized card. What are you having trouble with?
How do you get such a high quality print? I have an epson et-2850 and have found it just drains the colour from my prints no matter what I do. I've played around with all kinds of settings but everyone seems to have different printer settings to me so I can't replicate other peoples settings! I currently sell cards on etsy but get them printed from another company but want to do it from home to save money and be able to offer more prints
No backup printer but do have a backup plan - have 2 printers I’ve outsourced to before that I’d go to if the order was worthwhile (I outsource larger orders anyway). I also have some stock ready to go of my most popular cards. If things picked up to the point I was making 20+ orders a day, might look into another printer if it made sense. Most issues I can fix quickly, or if this one broke completely I’d just buy another asap. If there was a delay and things needed to come out quick, and for some reason I have no other option that suited, I’d just cancel the order, apologise + explain what happened 😂 No big issues as of yet tho and works fine for my side biz 😊
Hi on the A6 cards what is the total size so inc both sides of the card? i have tried but when i cut the card out and then crease the middle and i fold it...the sides are never the same size so have to keep cutting white parts off and each card ends up different size
I haven’t actually! 🤔 I can cut and fold cards super quickly now so I wouldn’t be saving much time, and the card I use is a lot cheaper than pre-scored card I can find. As long as it’s no more than 300gsm thickness I don’t see why not? But don’t quote me on that haha!
Thanks! Hope it’s useful 😄 I tried both sides and preferred when I scored on the outside and folded in (was also easier cause my insides are blank and harder to see exactly where to score) - I’d try both sides and see which you prefer! 😊

I am using mondi color copy matte 300gr. Yes at the screen looks nice.. My steps are the following: -exporting from procreate app as jpeg -sending it on my Mac -printing it through photo app ( media type: matte photo paper)
Thanks so much! Hm, what colour mode do you create the artwork in on Procreate? Have you tried any other paper settings other than matte? Do the colours still fade on other papers? Unfortunately most of the time it’s fixed just with trial and error 😅 It might be the paper, the settings, or the file might need editing a bit first (I personally increase saturation and vibrancy +17 in Lightroom before printing). It’s really hard to say as there’s lots of variables 🙈
I can’t get this printer to print nicely. The black isn’t black enough and the image isn’t defined. I’ve tried to edit the image. My 9 year old hp printer seems better. Any tips on how to make it more vibrant and the blacks more defined? It seems the outlines on the images never look dark enough. Thanks in advance
What settings are you using? I use photo matte setting on best, increase vibrancy and saturation +18 and darken the blacks -40. Which looks a LOT on screen lol but prints awesome and true to the colours I want
