  • Death Wobble Defeated!! Man we thought this Jeep had us beat. We tried all the JK death wobble fixes we have used over the years but it didn't fix this 2019 JL Wrangler. I let my frustration get the best of me and I ruined the bushings in a brand new track bar. Dave from Synergy and Bubba from Exodus4x4 helped keep me on track. (pun intended)
Turns our it was the factory tie rod. It fell out as I loosened the nuts holding them in place. They are total garbage. From now on I will just add the full Synergy treatment to any JL wranglers we buy.

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, Deisel, and, at 7500 miles I started getting the "Death Wobble". I have taken it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong. But as soon as I got it back and drove it, you guessed it, the wobble. I took it to the dealer a second time and still nothing. At this point, I am really frustrated and wandering why Jeep doesn't come out with a fix. This has been an ongoing problem with the Wranglers a very long time. My 2017 JK never wobbled. Maybe a lot of us need to get our forces together and come up with a fix to present to Jeep since they don't want to do anything about it.

It’s odd they haven’t done something about it. Coming from a JK I automatically blamed the track bar, but on our gas JLUs it seems to be the tie rod most of the time.

For my beautiful, RMS Stargazer, the problem was the tie rod, track bar, and the passenger's side ball joint. The worn ball joint caused a lot of movement on that end of the track bar. All that wore out together. As the vibrations got worse and I stupidly thought it would go away by itself, it damaged the track bar as well. I finally decided to do something and one after noon of work and it all ran smooth after replacement. I threw on 35x12.5 R15 tyres on the Jeep the following week. Today, three years later, the old Jeep still steers straight, is still rock solid in the front end, and still my best friend. One does not simply give up on a great friend simply because things get difficult. One loves that friend through their hard times.

Wow, I'm impressed with your mechanical ability. That was an awesome fix since you had to stick with to figure it out. Such a cute daughter too.

Oversize tires, positive offset tires, what expect. Death wobble is resonance, the vibration frequency is at the natural resonance, a natural phenomenon; use dampeners!

Also, the steering box if aluminum it flexes.. jeep is aware and will replace it with steel if a complaint is presented

The aluminum spindles will cause the same problem in the future.

Most keeps need caster angle adjustments to 8°-10°, rotate your tires once , big tires are notorious for being eggs, lol be safe ,God bless

I got the death wobble on my stock 2022 wrangler Sahara with 7400 miles.
The dealer tells me it was the steering damper. Just ordered the part. I hope it’s the problem.

That’s the dealerships “go to” solution. Hopefully it helps.

What fixed your issue? I'm in the same boat, but it's not the stabilizer....

We are still on the stock ball joints. The tie rod fixed ours. It will drive you crazy tracking wobble down.
