Wow! I just went and listened to the Airplay album, It's now one of my favorite albums, the musicianship and the pitch perfect vocals on that record are a master class. Not one misplaced note, everything had a purpose. Absolutely amazing
It's great stuff, isn't it? Champlin, Foster and Graydon like to joke that they "threw in TWO kitchen sinks" on that album.

Great to hear the name Marc jordan. I've always felt Blue Dessert was one of greatest albums ever made.

Jay talks a lot in this and other interviews about his RUclips channel and here he mentions an autobiography…but I can’t find either. Would love him to do that YT channel.

Westcoast music is the right term
Can someone provide a link to the various things that Jay has in the works..? The engineering sessions in specific.
He is so right about how bad engineering has gotten. Please stop using too much compression and no peak limiting. Most have at least a -80db noise floor so leave the dynamics in.
What monitors has jay got? Are they ns1000m or ns1000mm ?

@@tnixon16 ok I appreciate it... I’ve watched so many interviews and no body is asking him about his monitors ... they look like ns1000m’s but they could be something slightly different... It doesn’t mention it on his website either .....

I'm surprised "yacht rock" hasn't been added to the list of terms that have been deemed offensive America's brittle spirits.
Not that the genre itself isn't offensive on it's own.....
Yacht Rock is a strange term though, West Coast AOR is better.
