I know this is a little off-topic but seeing as it IS about homebrew, Have you heard of this new homebrew NES game called Former Dawn? It's a RPG that apparently utilize this cool new mapper for the NES that allows the system to pull off some amazing visuals that I've never really seen the like of on the NES. The game will even have FMVs and mouse support and such. It's pushing the hardware and capabilities far beyond any other game I've seen and I would love to hear your opinion on it if you've have a chance to check it out yet
1:14 I don’t want to sound like a redditor but doom and duke nukem aren’t really raycast they’re portal renderers, all the vertices and positions are in 3D space the rendering of them is the only difference from modern polygonal rendering. Also the zip line game is exactly the same as duke nukem, it’s a portal renderer you can watch the creators videos on how he programmed the engine on his channel 3D Sage
