There is a newspaper in HL:A that claims the combine were not fighting humanity but rather the xen forces on Earth, then Breen offered humanity to the combine.
This is criminally underappreciated! The idea is really interesting, and is executed amazingly considering the fact that this was animated by (I assume) only one person. The lives and events that occur in regular people's lives in Half Life 2 are things we don't often see covered, and the whole vibe of this episode is something I wish we would see more often from animations and Half-Life series. Many of the scenes in this animation were delivered really well, it almost felt like watching something made by an actual professional animation studio. Awesome work. We will watch your career with great interest.

The ending left me excited for possible future episodes and left me wondering how the next episode might play out. Amazing, in terms of fitting with the half-life universe I`d say about 85% there, really good but obviously you don`t have a whole team for that so that can be ignored, everything else is top notch, amazing work and I can`t wait to see whatever else you make in the future! edit : also you got a good taste in music, it`s nice to hear!
Am a huge HL2 fan. Have been since the demo you could play from 2004 I think, before it released fully. The world gripped me. Chose my nickname after the Combine. So delighted to have seen an era of machinimas and (fan-)art about it. And thus your video too. Very well done from a cinematographic POV. Although I'm a bit more of a sucker for a Combine or Civil Protection POV that doesn't turn rogue or, rather, maybe does so at a later point after having shown the character more or go through changes the viewer can see more. But this is by no means a critique on your well-made work! Thank you for making this! It's people like you who keep, forgive the pun, Half-Life alive!

NICE piece of work on all counts. Wouldn't know where to begin. Voice acting, textures, lighting, mood, music score, sound design, ... They struck a sweet balance between a very real, unassuming, natural feeling environment and bits of drama that were a touch familiar to the comic drama genre. There's more right?

Very good animation but some minor inaccuracies but it not a big deal, its just citizen, if they joined CPs or not, were not allowed to own or have weapons. Its a really good animation and i like seeing animations for a CPs/Combine POV. Very nice.
