    Can't get enough of your reviews! I was skeptical about going to kevlar because of the pop and power but your breakdown has got me convinced to try out kevlar. I am a Honolulu pickleball company supporter to the max I love the J3 for indoor play and the J2 for outdoor play. I can't wait to try the J3k, J7K, and the J2k.

    Thanks for an excellent series of reviews. I found your organization by value, and then by power helpful, since friends often ask me what to buy. I presently use a Ruby, and I'm weighing my options for my next paddle. I'd be interested in seeing your thoughts on the low swing-weight Pikkl Hurricane 16 mm paddle (Tyra Black plays with the 14 mm version), which has top-tier power and spin, unusual for a Standard Shaped paddle.

    Great offering. I bought a Ruby last November, when it first came out. It turns out that my daughter got pregnant with twins in December, and unbeknownst to me, she had already picked out Ruby as the name for her daughter. God willing, in a month I’ll have a granddaughter named Ruby. Of course, I cannot ruin the paddle, so I’ll retire it, hang it in her room, and buy another one. This examination is just what the doctor ordered. I will examine it closely to find my next Kevlar paddle. Right now, the first two in the video seem to fit my style. Thanks Pickleball Medicine.

    3.5 - 4.0 player here (depending on the day ;-) I tried a demo of the Gruvn' LZR-16 yesterday and really I liked it - I think. I say that bc it was a really humid day and the grip, in addition to being on the small side for me, is slick as hell! Had a tough time holding on to it. Obviously needs an over grip, but one would think a little better grip would come with it. That said, when I was able to get it dried between every other point, I liked it as an all-court paddle bc I'm neither a total power or control player, although tend to the control side. I don't know about the comparisons, but I think your review is close to what I experienced.
    Great reviews! Thanks!

    Doctor great videos ! Thank you for all the time spent. One question Sir: would love for you to add, as soon as you get it, the new B&B Fat Boy please. Very curious on your expert opinion after spending so much time with all these Kevlar paddles. To know your very appreciated thoughts with regards to all these. Another question Sir: what happened to Onix? The old Onix Evoke Premier 13mm and 16mm used to be my favorite paddles some years ago and now nothing from them? Hopefully like Paddletek, they can make a comeback. Keep up the great work Doctor. Saludos from Panama.

      Thank you very much, I appreciate that!! and for sure, I can do that. I actually just got the FatBoy in yesterday, so I'm excited to see how it stacks up. As far as Onix.. man I have no idea! I feel like they haven't put a lot of work into innovation in the past number of years, but it would be cool to see them come up with something new and adopt one of these new materials for their paddles or something.

    This is a great and very informative video!! It does NOT help me decide which one to buy though!! Coming from a gen 1 Diadem Icon, and looking for fast hands at the net along with put away power, which would you recommend?? Do you think pure Kevlar or a Kevlar carbon fiber blend is better? And finally, I am also curious and have seen a video on the Pickln Alecto, have you had a chance to try that paddle? Thanks for all the great reviews!

    How was the stiffness on the Dunamis? Is like a generic 14 mm thermo stiffness? More/less stiff feeling? If I read the product page correct it's 16x8 and 14 mm.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  9 дней назад

      Yeah I would say it's on the more stiff side, for sure, though not quite like a generic 14mm stiffness. I am going to hesitate before getting too into the fine details until i get production level paddles to make sure they are the same as the one i got, but It's certainly on the more stiff feeling side and the ball has a very low dwell time off the face. Makes counters at the kitchen very satisfying and sharp.

    I'm a former tennis player from the serve and volley days of the '70s. Have played pickleball for six years and have randomly chosen paddles with not a lot of thought about playability. As such, I have had some clunkers and some great ones. I tend to play power tennis strokes from the baseline and transition to pickleball strokes as I approach the kitchen line. Anyway, I'm trying to get a handle on the kind of paddle that would work best for my game. There are so few ways to "try out" new paddles, so I'm dependent on what you experts say. Given the style I've described, do you have any suggestions from the Kevlar options that would most likely fit my game style? I'm leaning toward the Ethos Dunamis based on your descriptions.
