One morning in Sweden, a girl named Greta woke up to a perfect world, one where there were no petroleum products . Greta smiled, acknowledging that adjustments are necessary to save the planet, and moved to the sink to brush her teeth where instead of a toothbrush, she found a willow, mangled on one end to expose wood fibre bristles. “Your toothbrush?” noted her godmother, “Also nylon.” “Where’s the water?” asked Greta. “Down the road in the canal,” ‘Just make sure you avoid water with cholera in it” “Why’s there no running water?” Greta asked. “Well,” said her godmother, who happened to teach engineering at MIT, “Where do we begin?” There followed a long monologue about how sink valves need elastomer seats and how copper pipes contain copper, which has to be mined and how it’s impossible to make all-electric earth-moving equipment with no gear lubrication or tires and how ore has to be smelted to a make metal, and that’s tough to do with only electricity as a source of heat, and even if you use only electricity, the wires need insulation, which is petroleum-based, and though most of Sweden’s energy is produced in an environmentally friendly way because of hydro and nuclear, if you do a mass and energy balance around the whole system, you still need lots of petroleum products like lubricants and nylon and rubber for tires and asphalt for filling potholes and wax and iPhone plastic and elastic to hold your underwear up while operating a copper smelting furnace and . . . “What’s for breakfast?” interjected Greta. "Fresh, range-fed chicken eggs,” replied her godmother. “Raw.” “How so, raw?” inquired Greta. And again, Greta was told about the need for petroleum products like transformer oil and scores of petroleum products essential for producing metals for frying pans and was educated about how you can’t have a petroleum-free world and then cook eggs. Unless you rip your front fence up and start a fire and carefully cook your egg in an orange peel like you do in Boy Scouts. “But I want poached eggs like my Aunt Tilda makes,” lamented Greta. “Tilda died this morning,” “Bacterial pneumonia.” “What?!” interjected Greta. “No one dies of bacterial pneumonia! We have penicillin.” “Not anymore,” “The production of penicillin requires chemical extraction using isobutyl acetate, which, if you know your organic chemistry, is petroleum-based. Lots of people are dying, which is problematic because there’s not any easy way of disposing of the bodies since backhoes need hydraulic oil and crematoriums can’t really burn many bodies- being used on the black market for roasting eggs and staying warm.”

“What’s for breakfast?” interjected Greta.
"Fresh, range-fed chicken eggs,” replied her godmother. “Raw.”
“How so, raw?” inquired Greta.
“Tilda died this morning,” “Bacterial pneumonia.”
“What?!” interjected Greta. “No one dies of bacterial pneumonia! We have penicillin.”
“Not anymore,” “The production of penicillin requires chemical extraction using isobutyl acetate, which, if you know your organic chemistry, is petroleum-based. Lots of people are dying, which is problematic because there’s not any easy way of disposing of the bodies since backhoes need hydraulic oil and crematoriums can’t really burn many bodies- being used on the black market for roasting eggs and staying warm.”

Full marks to this rider for showing restraint in the face of great provocation. As a 74 yr old rider myself, I would love to buy him a drink.
@alandavies: as a 72 year old biker I would have gently pushed her face backwards from my bike if she so much as laid a finger on me or machine. Bike gloves are very unforgiving. But officer she threw the first punch! ( VFR 750 if you wondered) 🤣🤣🤣 Stay safe Alan!😎👍💪

@hawky2k215oh that’s why! I’ve been wondering why… thank you for explaining 😊
Yes this shows how weak car drivers are. They pick on people on bicycles but are too scared to face down skinny vegan lefties.
@hawky2k215 someone will get hurt because you just drove a vehicle at them. The law has a pretty obvious concept of proportionality in regards to physical defence

@@DIGETdan117 you don't get to threaten anyone with a weapon or a vehicle. Forcing your way through on foot would be legit (and blocking would be potentially a crime). It's insane to allow anything else. The barricade might be frustrating and annoying but that doesn't change the risk. Truthfully any real punishment would be unlikely but that's because we have a blind spot around the seriousness of using vehicles as an extension of ourselves. In the first part of the clip the motorcyclist has been assaulted by the woman protester. She has no right to physically touch him let alone impede his journey.

Hardly ploughing through. He stopped and passed between them as carefully as he possibly could. It looked like they were actually trying to pull at him as he pulled away, that looked like unlawful restraint.
what law is that or did you just make it up ?
@@SunofYork They put their hands on someone who did not want their hands on him. That's a crime everywhere.
@@SunofYork Since English apparently isn't your first language, let me help. "Unlawful" means "not lawful" or "illegal," and "restraint" means "restricting movement." Put together, it means to prevent someone from moving against their will. Other legal terms for it include "kidnapping" and "false imprisonment." It's a very serious crime in English-speaking countries, but I can understand if you didn't know due to a language barrier.
@@IceDragon978 In England that results in an 'order to keep the peace' at a maximum. That expires leaving no criminal record. English law isn't prissy... 'Assault causing actual bodily harm' and 'wounding with intent' are different.
No Sunof York, it isn’t made up. There aren’t many reasons in law for a member of the public to physically detain someone. A person could be detained using reasonable force to prevent immediate harm/injury or could be detained for committing an arrest-able offence using reasonable force during an arrest without a warrant.
