As a citizen of the country the protest in the video is in, I believe the right to protest is a fundamental right. The problem with the way Just Stop Oil protest is that all they do is make people angry or miserable. In my opinion, a good protest, a good way to prove a point to someone, is through a conversation, or a speech. And that speech will likely be more affective if it doesn’t come during a protest in the road, or after throwing soup at a painting. Really, I (and many others) believe Just Stop Oil are just attention-seekers, and they don’t do any good for people who are against oil and fight against climate change, who want to do that in a way that doesn’t cause anger among the general public.

However, one might argue a case for what is reasonable in law and, in addition - the premise that this sort of disruptive "Up yours" behaviour is intended to cause a breach of the peace AND/OR careless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned. They've got to keep moving the vehicles without stopping. Once they Stop the lunatics then take. Continue moving even at a slow rate but you must not stop. If they decide to remain in front of the car or vehicle then they are completely at fault.
The smart move would be if they announced which road/roads they intend to protest on, it would give emergency services and other commuters the opportunity to choose a different route and still cause the disruption they want… but that’s common sense, and it’s becoming obvious that sense is not just rare, it’s become endangered.

As a citizen of the country the protest in the video is in, I believe the right to protest is a fundamental right. The problem with the way Just Stop Oil protest is that all they do is make people angry or miserable. In my opinion, a good protest, a good way to prove a point to someone, is through a conversation, or a speech. And that speech will likely be more affective if it doesn’t come during a protest in the road, or after throwing soup at a painting. Really, I (and many others) believe Just Stop Oil are just attention-seekers, and they don’t do any good for people who are against oil and fight against climate change, who want to do that in a way that doesn’t cause anger among the general public.
Even the cyclists hate them! 🤦♀️
