There was polyfil in the housing but it just doesn’t tighten down to the roll bar so there’s always some play which makes it rattle. Rockville has a 4” option that I probably would’ve gone with if I had to do it again so it isn’t so bulky.
I got lucky and was able to hit it up far enough to get a pair of pliers on it. You might be able to hammer it out a bit so you can get a tool on the nut and get it off.
The big test would be the comparison driving down the road with your windows down top off that's a comparison that would be awesome to see
Why didn't you mount them in the back on the sides of the roll bar? The way they are mounted it looks like they will bump out the soft top
Yeah I had to angle them so they wouldn’t bump out. I put them in the oem location for easier install🤙
Knowing myself, I’m sure I would add about 6 more speakers on that bar.
Do it!
Awesome Video!
They sound amazing 🙌
Can I mount these onto my kenwood dual 12 ?
Did you poly fill and seal the plastic housing? Just curious if that would eliminate the rattling if you didnt want to do the marine style enclosures.

Hey Sean , do the speakers interfere with the soft top up ? Can you see a hump or anything?
Yes the way I have them the ends of the bolts touch the soft top so to prevent rubbing I put a sticky foam piece on the soft top which protects it
Are the Rockville speakers powered by just the head unit, or are they hooked up to an amp?
They are hooked up to an amp, but they can be powered by the head unit
@@seansspeakers yea I just was wondering how they sounded just powered by the head unit… I’ve already got 3 amps on my boat lol
It sounds like to me that the second speaker you showed up top was blown that's not the housing making that noise it's the speaker because it's blown
Nah the speaker was good
My plastic rattles too, replaced all interior speakers, & 1st test after installation, sounded blown again.
Wonder how these would fit with a hard top
I think they would fit. Hopefully I’ll get a hardtop so I can see
How did you get the bolt out? I have three stripped

have good bass?
It’s not super deep bass but it’s got a good punch. Really good for being mid range speakers, and they don’t rattle which helps a lot.
What Gauge wire did you use??
I used the wire that the factory speakers were wired with, I’m assuming it’s 16 gauge
Hi Sean, new fans here! I'd like to invite you to do a video for our tire Brake Light, are you interested?
Yes I am interested, although I have a spare tire cover on. Will that cover it up?
