  • After a long road trip I drop into a few areas on the hunt for gold, having no luck I head to an old faithful, this area has produced gold for years and on this day it was no different, I was able to walk straight onto gold.

    Thanks for the shout out Pete. Sorry we disappeared from the footy game. The kids had been with me all day and were hounding me for dinner!
    Great information about finding a patch. Its good to keep one on the back burner for scratching the gold fever itch. 0.33 it a nice bit of scratch.
    Cheers and thanks for sharing your adventures Pete 🌄

    Thanks Pete, for the tips, we'd been given further pointers to where folk from the gold-rush days wandered routinely, who would have worked a few feet from the next digger, but then went up to escape to their tent or dug-out up the hillside, to the fresh water, to the provisions tent store, butcher's, tailor, grog tent, "entertainment"... bridle trails, holloways between giant slag or mullock heaps, ridge or creekline walkways, and for relics in towns, from Luke, Dig It Detecting, grassy laneways, particularly if they lead from a big worksite (bigger mine entrance) to the nearest pub! Bluestone laneways harder to dig if you get a signal, item wedges vertically in a crack. Warren Wild Colonial Boy used a pinpointer in a flagstoned interior setting, wish they had a headphones jack or silent pulse so you don't get sprung! lol Cheers, Gabi.

    Sshhhh, dont give up all your trade secrets 😁, told a mate to do the same, (work the hill).

    I think that lead shot did you a favour, you might not have found that gold without it, yep! That larger piece looked like Caromel Koala to me. A bit of quartz with a golden cherry on top! Nice! Not to bad on the weigh-in guesses either! Cheers!

    • @PetesGoldAdventures
      @PetesGoldAdventures  2 месяца назад

      I think the lead might have been the secondary target and popped out first, anyway I was happy to have found the gold. It's funny the shapes of gold, everyone can see something different that's for sure. If you find enough small ones it makes it easier to guess, I need more big ones to guess. Cheers mate

    Loved it surfed it at 8-10ft on my 9’ malibu after the Australian titles in Victoria harbour
    Bloody cold it was too
    Geez that second one I too said it’s gold then it was lead wtf
    But was still there I find that the lead is louder and gold softer in sound
    But the bigger ones like half gram are loud so it’s difficult ay
