What comes out is that one, these guys are just normal people with enormous God-given talent, and two, their joy is to write songs that touch listeners in many different ways.
God bless y'all. What a great story, done for the right reasons. Couldn't agree more about the contrasts to "Country boy can survive". It's gotta come naturally.
Great 1st informative podcast! Enjoyed hearing about the song writing process and how it progresses through writers, producers et al. Very proud of all. Good job Neil Trasher! 🎉🇺🇸🎉
Great first episode! Love hearing the story of Tully's new Buddhist friend. Great job taking the high road. Sometimes, that's truly difficult. Love the song!
I love this song SO MUCH! I love what it represents and we need this now more than ever. I loved hearing the behind the scenes of how this magic came together. The part of them playing it for the first time in concert with the flag wrapped around him.. goosebumps! I’m so proud to be a country fan and a fan of Jason Aldean and these extraordinarily talented writers. Thank you for staying true to the core values of a small town and not backing down. Loved the podcast! Salute the blue, the military and all who continue to protect this country ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Hey yall! I'm so glad I found this podcast. I grew up listening to country music, cmt every Saturday morning, 90s baby, and I was so excited to recognize all the dudes in this podcast! A bunch of good ol boys. I really appreciate Jason, Britney and the very few select artists that publicly stand up for us little people. ❤️ God bless yall.
@TryThatInaSmallTownPodcast also it was pretty cool to hear about Toby and Eastwood in ep 3. I love history and especially music history. Keep it up yall. Amazing.
Thanks for this. This is so interesting! There is too much hate in the world, and first reactions that many have. I wish you the very best. Stay safe, keep singing, and playing.
Love hearing the backstory of the creation of this song. So nice to hear Kurt and Tully’s recount of how electric the concerts were when Small Town was performed. I had the privilege to witness this first hand at a concert last summer in Estero, FL. I felt so very proud.
Love listening to you guys discuss how this song came about. Great podcast! I would love listening to you guys have these same discussions about all the other songs ya’ll have written. Such a talent lies in writing. I’ve been a fan on Neil’s writing and music, ever since I’ve met him, going back to the 90’s.
stood by your side through it all, great song about small town values! great episode laughed out loud at Tully’s new friend. can’t wait to see y’all on the road this summer
I’m here after the election, y’all’s song was a major impact and the fact I sent it to everyone I know before the radio they all had to admit I called it lol
Thank you for this. My family and I are long time fan and supporter of Jason Aldean. And now big fans and supporters of you all. Love the soul and roots of your stories. Keep it going!🍺🍺🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Love the song and everything it stands for! Thank you for being a voice for politically incorrect Americans that still love America and aren’t afraid to say so. I thank GOD for people like Jason and his wife that are PROUD AMERICANS!! ❤️💙❤️
I live in a small county of maybe 6,000 people, we literally have a sheriff department and that’s it in the entire county. Our under sheriff hangs out and rides motorcycles with a group of us. We was sitting in a friend’s garage hanging out during the time of all the riots.. A bus load of the professional rioters showed up in the larger town 36 miles away and tried to start their chit, it got sniffed out pretty quickly with a few lumps and bruises and a state trooper cruiser getting beat on a bit.. Anyway, our undersheriff was talking to the state trooper and said something along the lines of “How are we supposed to deal with that if it happened in our county”.. We literally have a group text that we all give each other static on constantly, plan rides and share information on.. I look at our undersheriff and said “You’re kidding right? You text us!!!”. Around here we may have our differences, and although it rarely happens things pop up and people who necessarily don’t get along normally stand up for each other.. We not only look out for one another, but our sheriff department is made up of all country boys that are good people and we look out for them.. For example a deputy was telling me a trooper called in for backup due to me. I was heading home from work late one night and the trooper had a car pulled over with people outside the car that obviously weren’t from the area. No way to explain it but was concerned for the trooper. I hit the next mile road and flip around and park a distance behind with my flashers on, not only worried about his safety from them but also parked in the position to get vehicles to move over.. The trooper was fairly new and gave a description of my truck. The deputy radioed back telling him he was in route but not to be concerned because I was there to look out for him.. Not a back the blue blindly type. I go by their individual character and merit. We need to support and respect the good ones.. The song nails my county.. Awesome song filled with truths
How awesome it is that as I’m watching this episode while sitting at a truck stop in Little Rock and in the background I hear the song playing in the store 😅
@@TryThatInaSmallTownPodcast funny enough that no matter where the road takes me I don’t see the pushback about this song out in public…..unlike all the bs that the media trolls are feeding the internet
I love this song from the first time I heard it last year. I have the try that in a small town shirt. I wore it to work and people who knew of the song said that song is racist it's this or that. I said you don't listen to songs do you? It's not about color your mind just turns it that way

Getting angry isn't a sin, Jesus Himself got angry and flipped tables. It what you do in that anger that can be a sin.
Sadly, there are people who want to destroy this country.
Agreed!
