Amidst the laughter, the episode also explores the intricacies of our creative processes, from songwriting to pitching ideas to Taylor Sheridan's hit shows. With a nod to NFL enthusiasts, we share our admiration for Dan Campbell and the camaraderie he brings to the Detroit Lions, despite not being the biggest football fanatics ourselves.

You all looked so handsome job well done ❤❤❤❤❤
I just watched the liberty inaugural ball and I’m so happy that you guys played Fly Over States
Fun episode guys (and sorry for the late review, I drove back from my 13 year olds hockey tournament in Utica today - TK's neck of the woods!). Really enjoyed the debate and banter, like always. The football talk is always good - the Aaron Rogers stories from K-Lo were really cool - but when you guys get into the business aspect of songwriting, it is "So Good" - to quote Tully. Amazing that many of these young songwriters aren't doing their research and don't know the history of the business. The four of you guys are legendary songwriters plus David Lee Murphy, one of the coolest guys on the planet, come on, how could you not know who he is??!! I'm not even in the music business and when a song comes on that I like, I either know who wrote it or I go look it up. I'm in a completely different business than you guys (see Kash Patel for a hint), but I see the youngsters in my business are similar to these young songwriters - maybe it's a generation thing? Their approach/attitude reminds me of a comic strip clip my dad once gave me about 40 years ago where one guy asks "Do you think ignorance and apathy are the two most misunderstood words in the English language?" and the other guy replies "I don't know and I don't care." LOL! But I promise you my 3 kids aren't being raised that way! Love that Evan Williams Egg Nog made a return to the podcast - that past episode was epic! Kudos to Thrash for playing Trump's 2017 Inauguration and I'm so happy for TK and "Air Kurt" getting to play the Inauguration event tonight in DC (about 40 miles from me). Keep up the great work and I can't wait for next week already! Cheers!
Always look forward to watch this podcast and hearing there views on things people don't Normally talk about out in the open. Awesome job🔥🔥🔥👊
I enjoyed your podcast today like I have been enjoying all of them and thank you for having the podcast ❤❤️
Great episode!
You guys might want to check out this podcast it’s catching every other word
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
All of us are happy for yall and President Trump 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
They fired their drummer during covid because he's immunocompromised and couldn't get vaccinated.
It is knowing how to listen!
He's not awesome. He's an angry little narc.
When business punks show no empathy……. that is not punk. They were never punk in the first place. Terrible band.
These two are simply beautiful, inside and out! Love the Aldeans!!!!
Great interview, Pete is a cool guy. I'll be checking out his new band. It was tough getting through that period, but glad I did... I've yet to meet anyone who regrets not getting the Covid Vax, but many of those that did wish they didn't.
The offspring have been one for my favourite bands since i was 13 (25 years ago) but i have to say i feel like dexter and noodles are probably absolute dicks. Few stories have circulated between treatment of greg k, this and pretty sure ron welty sued them for royalties too. I have tickets to see them later this year and this has honestly put me off going!
I know someone with lots of medical issues, on lots of medications, with a very good doctor, one that listens and keeps up with current research. The doctor told him DO NOT get the you know what. He’s had no issues with the big C. Good he listen to his doctor.
Great Interview!
Great conversation…his experience is transformative as this seems to be how many corporations deal with their employees…similar story to his is Jason Hook’s documentary “Hired Gun” (stream on prime?) - Liberty Devitto of Billy Joel fame. Either story shows lack of humanity in hiring/firing process…it’s only about business. Kurt, Tully, y’all are blessed to be your position. On side note…Steve and I miss you guys! Hugs from Texas!
Thx Christi! 💙
Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What an incredible episode. I had not heard this story before, so sad. It amazes me that the people not getting the shot were the bad ones yet not one of you, including Pete said anything negative about those that chose to get it. What stood out to me on this episode was when TK was talking about Kurt getting covid and made it clear he was riding on the bus. Class act.
💯
What an absolutely fantastic conversation. Kudos to everyone. Especially to Pete, who is an absolute hero.
F2F Ignorance is Bliss is a top 20 album for me. Pete's the man!
What a hero! Second interview I’ve seen this dude talking about his experience. I got fired from my job back then for not being vaccinated. All the very best Pete for the future.
Merci !
Fellas this was such a great episode… never heard of Pete before but he seems like a really great dude. We need a part 2!
Love the show Pete seems like one awesome man glad things are looking up for him Covid sucks
I love dexter even more now. Dying of covid is not punk
Na man Dexter is a dick. That's no way to treat someone after 14 years. Regardless of changing drummers there is a way to do it and a way not to. I get the feeling Dexter is an absolute prick and I'm a die hard offspring fan of 25+ years
Just checking so my response is warranted. Are You being sarcastic?
@ sarcasm doesnt work on the internet. And I’m austistic, i literally don’t understand sarcasm. Thats like asking a robot if its lying
Love what you guys are doing! As a musician myself, I want to hear more from rock musicians with a spine and I appreciate you guys taking out the swear words. God bless you all.
great recap.
I'd love to hear more stories from the road with covid and how Jason and you all handled it. Like did you all get a lot of push back because of where you stand with covid?
Wow, as someone who is actually a part of the punk community, this is sad to watch and laugh at someone so triggered by what an absolute joke this is. I mean yes punk is anti authoritarian and anti capitalist plus when push comes to shove, we beat the fuck out of those who think like a bunch of mindless Nazis who think the confederacy was the greatest thing ever. Sad part is that you’d censor cursing?? What are ya a bunch of commie liberals??? Shit no wonder the conservative movement is an absolute joke these days. The fact that you have an idiot like this on a “podcast” shows how much you don’t understand countercultures.
Funny how I know exactly who he is and have no idea who you are. Enjoy your dozens of views
You don't know Jason aldean?
Very cool name for a very cool pod! Good luck
Pete's new band, The Defiant, is fucking incredible. It's the ultimate Punk rock supergroup.
Great podcast, as always!! Hope & pray Pete will continue to climb and he & his family be rewarded greatly for his example of kindness & class.
You guys should have Bret Michael’s on your show
Another 5 out of 5 stars episode guys! Pete was fantastic and what a courageous individual who went through terrible times and has come out on the right side after it - amazing stuff! You guys have alluded to the issues with COVID before, but to hear it from Pete plus all of your experiences on tour and during that time was very interesting. TK has talked about people who lost their jobs for not getting the shot in the past and to hear Pete's full story really hits home for so many in this country. Our rights were trampled all over during COVID and Pete's story highlights that. K-Lo taking shots at Fauci (or Fraudci, as I call him) was funny and well deserved. What a horrible period in American history that I hope we all learned from, but there are some who still don't get it. On the lighter side, love hearing about first concerts. Mine was the BeeGees on the Spirits Having Flown tour in 1979. A friend of mine was a huge fan so he asked me to go. I was in junior high and there was some backlash towards them during that anti-disco period, so I didn't tell people I was going, but word got out, and there were people privately coming up to me afterwards asking about the concert and saying "way cool, I bet it was a great show" and it was! So back during that time I was underground, kind of like being a Trump supporter before his big win in 2024, LOL! Nowadays the BeeGees have gotten their due and definitely had major influences in the music industry and they were incredible songwriters, especially Barry (Islands in the Stream stands out in country music). You guys know how much I love songwriters and the stories behind the songs. In all seriousness, you guys continue to produce a quality product week after week! The guest lineup is incredible, and Pete was another perfect guest who fits the overall message of this podcast. Kudos to Pete for his willingness to share his story and for you guys for bringing him on! He certainly would be great to have on again at any time!
I really loved this episode. Pete is a stand up guy to take on the music industry and stay true to his core beliefs. It is a shame that people with power abuse it just for the sake of profits. Listening to all 4 of you talking about the music industry, both the good and the bad really spins a human relationship with those of us with regular jobs. In the end we all have families and just want to make our lives a little better for the next generation. Give us an update on the songs the band is working on in the studio, how many tracks have been recorded. See if you can give us a 30 second sneak peek for any one of the songs that may be on the next album. Hope you all had a blast out in Mexico with Luke Byran and all his friends.
Let's not understate Pete's bravery. When The Offspring cut loose their founding bass player it may have started quietly but it didn't end that way - it ended with lawsuits. That Pete's out here being candid is a testament to his strength and conscience. I lost my job of 16 years due to my decision to pump the brakes on getting the shot because of my own pre-existing health struggles, and finding Pete's Instagram when I did was a godsend. I felt alone - very alone - and he was one of the few public figures with the stones to let people like me know that we weren't. Thanks, Pete.
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
What a great interview, so glad things are looking up for Pete ❤️🔥🔥
Covid was planned. I myself refused to get the jab and would not let my kids get it. I got covid twice, but I wasn't sick. Hands up for everyone to stand up for their decisions.
Thanks so much to all the guys for having me on!
You were awesome and you are a very brave man! I'm glad my favorite podcast was able to get you on because you are what embodies the show!
Great interview, Pete! Brilliant way to air out what went on over such a terrible period for you. As a lifelong Offspring fan, I'm disappointed in the machine it has become. Not only are their punk ethics questionable, I'd go as far as to say they are now the man 😂. Definitely makes me wonder about what went on with Gregg and Ron previously. Great podcast lads, will be sure to follow ❤
Great interview Pete thanks for sharing your story. As a life long offspring fan and drummer myself this really has made me change my opinion of Dexter and Noodles. No one should have been treated like you were after 14 years. Kudos for being the bigger man with how you handled it
I think you are amazing for doing things your way sticking to your morals and ideals your children have a great role model......everything works out in the end even if you take a different path....that took courage to stand up on your own! To do you...❤
❤🔥He definitely was treated terribly and I'm so sorry for that. I hope that his future becomes so much larger than the stifiling contributions of those people. You deserve better! Best of luck to you and your family.
Incredible story! Amazing man! What the podcast is all about! Thanks for the bonus episode, it provides such positive vibes! 👍👏
I THOUGHT THEY WERE BOTH DIVORCED
Love podcast like this 💪🏼
