Great makes. The yellow dress and that jacket with the peplum are my faves and I’m in awe at the amount of beautiful clothes you make. So inspiring to those of us who are afraid of darts and zips. I make ‘comfortable ‘ clothes only! Also love those two tone boots. Stylish lady.
I love the idea of the quarterly retreat! Maybe we could do it as a community (not necessarily "live", but scheduled), and share our makes. That might be fun! I am recovering from shoulder surgery and can't sew right now, but I can buy fabric and patterns with one hand (he he he), and make plans. Something like that once I'm up and running would make up for the last month - and the next 6 weeks or so! Thanks, as always, for sharing your makes. I really do get a lot of inspiration watching your videos!
You are Fun! I’m inspired to get to a spring sewing pattern. Thank you for sharing your retreat projects, you look lovely in them, classy and feminine. Well done! Spring, it’s in its way. Coats are wonderful as well. I enjoy your “keeping it real “ footage of your sisters coat, it is a dream on her. Excellent as always.
Amazing makes! Love your new scalloped Tee too. I look forward to your videos and they never disappoint, thanks for sharing your talents and fun personality with us.
Now wonder if revitalizating is the right word. It sounds pretty intens and you must have been tired after that. But at the same time it clearly did you good. 💕
What great pieces!! Your yellow dress would be great for Easter with a teal jacket, maybe even the wool one you made with the peplum? All of them are perfect for you! Get your back brace on before it hurts even more!!! LOL Too bad we couldn't have volume on for this! LOL Too funny! Love the sounding of the trumpets while your sister did her twirl!
Hello Whitney. I have loved everything you have made and have "enabled" me to buy two of the McCalls patterns (the newer ones, I already have the other one that is low cut) when they become available in Australia. I have just (nearly) finished the 'Alcott' dress by Cashmerette and I love it (although my next one is not going to have the clear elastic around the neck and front of the bodice), you would love the fabric I made it from, it is a Jocelyn Proust design from Spotlight, it has a grey background with orange color Australian wild flowers on it, I would highly recommend the Alcott dress. My next project is the Lenox shirt dress again by Cashmerette, so far I have cut it out and it is ready to sew. I do have the Appleton dress on my plans too. Poor Gidget she loves 'sharing' the love, she is such a funny little girl. love to her (I would link the fabric that I used for the Alcott dress buy RUclips might not 'like it')
@@TomKatStitchery I bought three of the 'new' McCalls patterns direct from McCalls in the US, they were on sale. Unfortunately there was no 'sale' on their postage price, but still I am glad I bought them. There is an infamous skirt pattern of McCalls, I don't know the number off my head but it is pleated and the model on the envelope is wearing an orange one. This is one pattern that is hard to get in Australia because it is so popular and always sold out, so I got that one straight from the US too as I just LOVE that pattern
Love your summer-y sewing...and I get it! It was -22F when I got up this morning here, and all I want to do is to sew another Zadie jumpsuit in a rayon floral and imagine that one day it might be warm enough for me to wear it!! And I may have to steal your idea of a virtual sewing retreat...what a wonderful way to recharge and reset.
How fun to have a virtual retreat! I love your makes. And I LOVE that there is someone else in the sewing world who hates facings. 😊 I also love the way you handled all that gathering. I’m making some ruffled pants for my 3 granddaughters and having made one pair the regular way, I’m planning to use my gathering/ruffler foot for the gathering on the other two. (Ain’t no one got time for that!😂)

You look absolutely Amazing in the Appleton. You should wear if OFTEN!!!!For coverstitching the hems, I know you recommend Sewkeysy tape, but I use clover fine glasshead pins. You can sew over them. I need advice: can I sew a set-in sleeve of one pattern into the scythe of another?

You really want to make sure that the sewing line of the sleeve is within the ease parameters of the sewing line of the bodice. For a knit pattern, those can be 1 to 1.
