LOL! I know the feeling about buying fabric Whitney! I just see fabric and I lose control. LOL! I need to face the cold, hard truth that if I don’t stop buying, my fabric will outlive me!
I purchased the Everyday Style Fall 2021, Winter 2022 and now the Spring 2022. These are so helpful. I’m starting a new job and needed to update my wardrobe and I was panicking! They’ve helped me focus on what I really need. Your videos on your sewing capsule plans are such a bonus and just wonderful! I have so many ideas now.
I completely agree about the capsules! My sister went back to work in the Fall and had to the same thing. She bought the capsule and was sold how easy it made everything!
It depends on which plan you are on with Cashmerette. I'm on the most expensive tier (it was on sale and cost less than the middle tier and I wanted the extras anyway.) I and anyone who joins the top tier can access all previous patterns as long as they are a member (its listed in the perks). I don't remember about the middle tier, but likely the bottom tier only can access the patterns from the date a person joins, onward, and that was why the person you were talking about couldn't access the bomber jacket. I strongly recommend anyone thinking of joining, reads all the perks for all of the tiers so they aren't disappointed, thinking they will get more. Also she says that she definitely is not releasing any of the club patterns to the general public.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with that paper bag waist. I have the same issue with that look, but I really like it and would love to find a way to wear it.
Whitney, your M8067 looks amazing on you! I adore that fabric! Very flattering as one of the colors on you. Boy do I understand putting the brakes on fabric purchasing. Unfortunately, I’m going to be in the mood to buy spring and summer fabrics now, lol! Keep on keeping on sister!
With your extensive project list I think going with the Metra you would wear it a whole lot more and use it more for a pop on type jacket. The blazer I think would be dressier and would you really get allot of use out of it before the weather turns. A suit for fall winter would be amazing though! I can`t wait to see all these put together! I think doing the dotted fabric in a dress to wear with the mauve Metra would be so cute!! My husband was listening to your video because my head phone plug doesn`t work anymore and he asked, she`s talking allot of fabric, is she ever going to sew anything! lol I had to giggle on that one, so I explained your Ninja sewing skills to him!
It definitely does. I think she normally has about 35-40 pieces in her seasonal capsules (including accessories and shoes), but a lot of the pieces carry over from capsule to capsule.
Just catching up. These seasonal plans videos always get me excited and dreaming up lots of fun makes myself. Just ignoring my non existing production rate for a bit 😉💕
Speaking of sweatshirt drawstring, I bought a bunch of long shoe laces in assorted colors for my drawstrings from Amazon. I cut them and add 3/8 elastic if they aren’t long enough for my project. (Side note: singe the ends if you cut them)
Just to add re the Cashmerette point, my understanding is that if you sign up for either of the two *top* tiers, you get access to the whole back catalogue of the Club patterns, that’s the one of the benefits you get for joining either of those two top tiers. If you join the third tier, that’s when you don’t get access to the previous patterns from the Club catalogue. Jenny said in one of her live videos that they won’t be releasing the Club patterns as main Cashmerette patterns, or at least they have no plans to do so. Hope that helps explain things. Basically, if you want all the Club patterns that have been released so far and you are just joining now, you need to join one of the two top tier options.
For the the Cashmere club, you can have access to the previous pattern but it’s based on the club plan you choose. I took the highest level plan in March and was able to get February’s pattern.
Love your plans, you’ve got me all excited about planning my Everyday Style Spring capsule too, I just need to find the time to shop my closet first and get my sewing room re-set up so I can actually sew again…
Just a word of warning. The pacific sweatshirt from greenstyle is a great pattern, but it is by no means loose. Besides doing a full bust adjustment, you might want to size up
Great plans and fabrics. Was sewing along while listening and am sewing up a sweatshirt in one of the fabrics you picked, the French Terry with the butterfly print, such lovely fabric
Hi Whitney. Love your springtime wardrobe plans and fabric colour choices. Fell in love with your blouse you presented in. What was the fabric and pattern you used? Hoping it was me made! Many thanks Jackie (Spain)
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! The blouse I"m wearing is M8067 and I made it in a Lady McElroy cotton lawn that I grabbed off of Detashify. I did make the sleeves wider to give more of an exaggerated sleeve, but other than that, it was sewn as is!
If you made the Upland trousers now, you could wear them this spring & they’d be waiting for you in the fall. I love these long videos, we know how to fast forward if we want to. I just don’t want to 😉
Love light purple with the red, one of my fav color combos. I’m on my third round of es capsules and enjoy filling in with sewing projects. I too have discovered fabric shopping should be limited to capsule makes
Whitney - so many things to say about your spring plans. They are so inspiring! Personal best record - I think I was your first view this morning! I love your plans for your Melanated Fabrics, adore that McCalls dress pattern, and that fun Stanton 😍! I’ve made a few versions of the Pacific Pullover, one as a shell for golf, and love them. Your Rhapsody is so inspiring! I have that pattern and want to make it up. If you’re taking votes I vote for the cream double breasted blazer. And that lighter green for the Carlyle, they say neon is in this season! I’m really excited for MMM this year, I think because I was too pregnant to participate last year. 😂
Hello Whitney Great plans for spring I have seen a pattern review on VOGUE 9133 it's classed as easy so would be a quicker blazer It's a boxy blazer and I think you would love it and you get a boxy trendy blazer easily The double breasted blazer maybe make it for fall as your complex make Just a idea I love how this looked on the review I am glad you are cutting out a chambray shirt for your daughter I hope that you have done some batch cutting for her and make some things for her When they are cut you will fit more things in for her As I have mentioned before take advantage of her loving you making her clothes and she soon won't be there to do fittings and enjoy the process of sewing for her Just a tip from someone who knows how quickly time ticks by I still am Sewing lots for my daughter and actually more than when she lived at home That is maybe a little guilt because I never got around to making a lot of her requests back then Just something that comes to mind when I watch your videos lol Can't wait to see what you get made first Great plans and loving your spring colors Happy sewing God bless you
You TOTALLY made an impact on me. I have started cutting out things for her when I'm cutting my stuff and then making a pile that I work on in between my makes. That was such a fabulous idea. I've made her quite a few things this month already and I did cut out a chambray shirt for her today! Thank you for passing along the wisdom. I'm already feeling so good about being able to make those things for her and then see her wearing them!
Lovely choices Whitney! Yes to the Metra Blazer by LN!. I have had that pattern and fabric for it since it was released. Just need to get it made. Can’t wait to see what you make 😊
Whitney, perhaps from a tech point of view you'd like to know, colors on video read differently depending on the viewing apparatus. My new phone shows very washed out colors while my old one shows vivid, bright saturation for the same video. I was confounded when you called a fabric your bright red. For me it read faded rose. That's the only down side of my new phone. Still, color makes a big difference. 🤔
You have a lot of makes planned! I look forward to seeing all of them completed. I'm looking forward to the Upland pants sew along. I need to make another pair and adjust them more. This new pair will be in navy. Thanks for your videos!
I'm especially excited to see how the chambray shirtdress works up! I've been dreaming of one since House of Gucci; in the scene where they visit the farm, Lady Gaga's character is wearing what looks like an eyelet chambray shirt with a full chambray midi skirt, and it just looks so effortlessly cool! Also looking forward to the Upland Trousers sewalong!
You got your capsule plans together quick! This inspired me to do the same. I really want to make a Marlo in navy. I have about 5 things to make. Your plans look great!
Hi, I just got my first capsule, and it has gotten me so excited about the things I want to make and a direction to go in, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. While I now have 6 is so much I want to sew, and it's probably not realistic, but we'll see how much I get done. I had to buy new fabrics as well but have a few from my stash so may wait in the future but a good sale is hard to pass up, so I'm also thinking of getting my colors done so I'm at least buying stuff that works for me. Lastly, I'm excited about MM May and may actually participate for the first time. Thanks for reading. I love the channel!
I will say that having had my colors done really does help with the fabric sale shopping. Even if I'm not using them right away, they always fit in somewhere else. I'm so glad you hear that you're enjoying the capsules as much as I am!
Looking forward to your Metro Blazer sew along...Consider a removable lining for the Vogue trench coat (looking forward to that one too I have a coat sitting in the naughty pile right now (for the last 3 weeks) and I really love the fabric and need to see a win in the coat jacket department Also looking forward to the paper bag waist pants-I am SOOO short waisted, paperbag waists have always been a no go
Lots of great projects! I am also planning to make a red jacket using Vogue 8884 which is very similar to the one you picked but it is lined. Maybe you could use that one instead and save yourself the trouble of drafting a lining.
Hi Whitney, thank you for your most interesting and fun presentation. 😊 I plan to make the Harper cardigan also and wonder if you made a full bust adjustment to your pattern? I have a 5 inch difference between my high bust and actual bust measurement. I have a similar shape to you (although taller and somewhat broader) which is one of the many reasons why I love your channel. I have followed many of your great suggestions in my own sewing. Thanking you. 🌹🌹🌹
I have a 4" difference between my upper and full bust and I didn't do an FBA on the Harper. I did, however, use the short file and it worked out great. It's a fabulous pattern!
On cashmerette - i could still get the bomber jacket, and I did sign up in March (1/3/2022) - but for the all-in packet. That might make the difference
love this-will look amazing made up. I made a blouse with the frill at the end of the sleeves but instead of a casing I did 3 rows of shearing just in a bit from the end of the sleeve. It turned out really nice.
Loving watching! Incredible so far. Yay! Had to stop and comment though… would you consider sharing your paper bag pattern edits. I have the exact same issues and although I love the idea, I know it would never look right without edits. Thanks in advance (??) lol 😂
Nothing wrong with some good linens! We were in the 80s this weekend, but today it's back to rain and we're back in the 50s 🙄. To answer your question, most of my sewing speed came from working in a bridal/alterations work room. I had to learn to be fast in that situation and it just transferred back to my everyday sewing.
No, don’t say you should not buy fabric🙃. Trust me, when I go to my sewing room in heaven, my sister has to take all my fabric and donate it all to someone that wants to open a fabric store. Honestly, I have so much. Do I feel guilty or like a hoarder…nope! Fabulous Spring Capsule! For your boat neck 3/4 length sleeve tee put either some small gathers (done with needle and thread) or small tucks in the center front and hold in place with stay tape or selvage. It will extend the life. Just a thought. 💡 The Vogue coat pattern is on sale presently. When you get through with your sewing you should come to my house and shop. I will not tell you how many drawers, shelves and closets I have full of neatly washed, folded and labeled fabric I have. Then there are the quilt kits. I used to take months collecting the fabric bits to make a quilt and then…I just started buying kits….so much easier.
These are the ones I received for Christmas and I love them. I have them in the petite cut: www.jcrew.com/p/womens/categories/clothing/denim/straight/full-length-90s-classic-straight-jean-in-holly-wash/BD381?display=standard&fit=Classic&color_name=holly-wash&colorProductCode=BD381
I need to stop buying fabric...said at least 100 times by every sewist everywhere!!! LOL! The capsule is amazing! I can't wait to see all of the items. I think the double breasted jacket would be ok if you close up the lapels alittle. I am thinking that with a full bust, which I have too, it may gape at the bustline if left with that much open down from the neck. Also, sometimes double breasted jackets can make a person look heavier than they are unless it curves in at the waist just a little. Just a thought, no judgement intended. I love all of the makes that you have planned. How did you like the quality of the Melonated Fabric Rayon? I haven't ordered from them yet. I really like Mimi and Brittany, but didn't know how good the fabric was for the money. Good luck with your plans and have a great weekend! Hugs
You are so right about the boxier double breasted jackets and larger busts. Double breasted and large busts can often make the wearer look much larger. I'm interested to play around with that, but think that might wait for later in the summer. I think the Metra will get made up as my white blazer for the time being! I have order a few rayons from Melanated Fabrics and while they have been thinner ones, they have been good quality. They have washed and worn quite well!
Hi Whitney! You have inspired me regarding colouring, and i have allready purchased an analyse from Color Guru. Now, I remember you have mentioned another colour analyses company that gave you some different answers. Can't find this info in your videos (so many to look through..). Grateful if you could help me on this :-) Loving your blouse, the fabric is just to die for!
I had my colors done by Christie Ressel in January of 2020. The Color Guru did mine when I became one of their affiliates. While they are technically different, I think the two companies just used different definitions for their groups. My colors are VERY similar for both.
I always get such great inspiration from these videos, Whitney! Before I forget to ask, when you receive the poppy red cotton viscose shirt, could you let us know how you like the fabric and fit? I like the cotton blends, but often find it hard to order RTW on-line. When you said you might only line the sleeves of the Metra blazer, would you just cut the fabric & lining fabric and treat them as one?? Thanks for all you share! Have a great weekend!
I can definitely talk about my new sweater. I wore it yesterday and was very pleased! I think I misspoke on the video. I'm not going to line the sleeves of the Metra blazer, but am going to line the sleeves of the trench coat pattern. However, I think if you grabbed a slippery tricot fabric that had adequate stretch, you could totally like the sleeves of the metra blazer and I would do exactly what you explained!
Would you be interested in constructing( verbally) a tropical Florida type wardrobe? I am stumped. I live in Clearwater Fl now and nearly died from the heat and humidity last summer!! It literally feels like car exhaust in your face if you are outside your home, which the home cannot keep up with the heat either! We have about 2 weeks of winter here and, for us, it's cold. Tomorrow morning will be at freezing. Earlier this week was near 90. Do you have any ideas? I love to wear the seasons but am stumped during our 4-5 months of "hells front door" as they call it.
That's a fun idea! I'm going to noodle that around. I think capsules for different climates could be fun! We were in Sanibel visiting my parents and it did get hot down there!
Most of the time, I use the regular Gutermann Mara 100. However, for coats, I like to use the Gutermann Mara 70. This is the same thread that I use for topstitching my jeans as well!
I pretty much go off what I see on the computer (I use my color card a TON). Because the colors can vary, I don't get them all correct. Luckily, my misses are usually that the fabric is too cool for my skin tone and then it will usually be one of my daughter's colors. I also rely on color names (for instance, the color poppy is usually my red where as scarlet is usually cool).
You can! True Bias actually has a men's Hudson Pant pattern if you'd like to use that one. I have made that one for my son quite a few times. They are his favorite joggers!
@@TomKatStitchery thank you ,i will look in to it ,i was asking because they like the jogger fit more thith i will defenatly look in to it thank you again Kat ❤can't wait to see tour spring makes 🙌❤
I have everything made up now (I've just been slow in showing you guys). I am a fast sewer, but because this is my job, I do have quite a bit of my weekly time dedicated to sewing.
For most, I just use the regular Gutermann Mara 100. However, when I'm doing machine buttonholes on coats and jackets I like to use the thicker Gutermann Mara 70. This is the same thread I use for topstitching my jeans!
Base membership in Cashmerette Club you get the month pattern you subscribe and all months going forward until you cancel. If you’re a plus or all access member you get all patterns, including previous patterns. I signed up for the all access to get the master classes and 15% off patterns. If you’re a plus member you get 10% off all patterns.
The Everyday Style account. I buy their seasonal wardrobes and then use them as inspiration for my sewing! There is a link to their site in the description box!
I definitely go through periods where I'm not feeling it, but they are usually very short. I go through bigger slumps in the other crafts I enjoy, but for some reason sewing is always a short one!
LOL! I know the feeling about buying fabric Whitney! I just see fabric and I lose control. LOL! I need to face the cold, hard truth that if I don’t stop buying, my fabric will outlive me!
Yes!!! That is exactly how I'm feeling!
Ooooh that check fabric would be gorgeous in a light weight linen style blazer!!! 💚💜💙
That would be gorgeous. That fabric is a rayon challis so probably doesn't have the body needed for a blazer, but it would be a lovely shacket!
I also understand buying fabric. The Fabric store had a sale and I stocked up on their Merino Wool. I will be sweltered up for next fall.
That's such a great time to buy that merino and it will always be a great stash fabric!
You just moved me from my couch to my sewing room. All inspired!
Yay!!!
Yep, I can shop faster than I can sew. Gotta catch up to all my fabrics. You've made some great plans!
Right?!! That is the problem 😂.
WOW Amazing set of plans, plans that only you could pull off!
😂 Thank you!
I purchased the Everyday Style Fall 2021, Winter 2022 and now the Spring 2022. These are so helpful. I’m starting a new job and needed to update my wardrobe and I was panicking! They’ve helped me focus on what I really need.

Some great selections there. I especially love the Roseclair dress and that gorgeous fabric.
Thank you! I made up the Roseclair this weekend and I'm very excited about it!
@@TomKatStitchery can't wait to see it!
I love love love your blouse and the fabric is amazing and this is my favourite lipstick colour.. Perfection
Awww! Thank you!

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with that paper bag waist. I have the same issue with that look, but I really like it and would love to find a way to wear it.
Oh good! I'll show you guys the pattern adjustments I end up making!
Wow, you’re going to be busy! Sounds like a fun capsule.
That, I am! 😂
Isn't that always the problem 😂. I get my fabric buying under control and then the seasons change and it starts all over again!
With your extensive project list I think going with the Metra you would wear it a whole lot more and use it more for a pop on type jacket. 😂😂😂 I love the term ninja sewing skills!
The video was just right and always a joy
I'm so glad!
The paper bag waist pants would look good on your daughter. I’m sure she will have her order in for spring.
They would be fabulous for her and her long torso!
Gorgeous selections … this feels like many more pieces than a capsule. I guess adding pieces from previous capsules gives you so many more options.
It definitely does. I think she normally has about 35-40 pieces in her seasonal capsules (including accessories and shoes), but a lot of the pieces carry over from capsule to capsule.

Hello Whitney
Great plans for spring
I have seen a pattern review on VOGUE 9133 it's classed as easy so would be a quicker blazer
It's a boxy blazer and I think you would love it and you get a boxy trendy blazer easily
The double breasted blazer maybe make it for fall as your complex make
Just a idea I love how this looked on the review
I am glad you are cutting out a chambray shirt for your daughter
I hope that you have done some batch cutting for her and make some things for her
When they are cut you will fit more things in for her
As I have mentioned before take advantage of her loving you making her clothes and she soon won't be there to do fittings and enjoy the process of sewing for her
Just a tip from someone who knows how quickly time ticks by
I still am Sewing lots for my daughter and actually more than when she lived at home
That is maybe a little guilt because I never got around to making a lot of her requests back then
Just something that comes to mind when I watch your videos lol
Can't wait to see what you get made first
Great plans and loving your spring colors
Happy sewing God bless you

My spring capsule colors are very similar to yours, with coral instead of the red. I’m hoping this will work for a trip in May as well!
I almost chose coral instead of the red. I was going back and forth with those!
Hi, I just got my first capsule, and it has gotten me so excited about the things I want to make and a direction to go in, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! I'll show all the adjustments I make to the paper bag waisted pants for all the other short torsos out there!
Can’t wait to see the McCalls dress, I have that pattern on my sew next pile. Great plans!
I'm really excited about that one as well!
Lots of great projects! I am also planning to make a red jacket using Vogue 8884 which is very similar to the one you picked but it is lined. Maybe you could use that one instead and save yourself the trouble of drafting a lining.
That is a very similar pattern!
Thank you Whitney 🌸😊
On cashmerette - i could still get the bomber jacket, and I did sign up in March (1/3/2022) - but for the all-in packet. That might make the difference
It sounds like the top 2 tiers have access to the back catalog, which makes sense.
love this-will look amazing made up. I made a blouse with the frill at the end of the sleeves but instead of a casing I did 3 rows of shearing just in a bit from the end of the sleeve. It turned out really nice.
That's a great idea as well! I might do that!
Loving watching! Incredible so far. Yay! Had to stop and comment though… would you consider sharing your paper bag pattern edits. I have the exact same issues and although I love the idea, I know it would never look right without edits. Thanks in advance (??) lol 😂
Of course! I can definitely do that!
In SC spring is 80*... hahahaha with 55* in morning. Might as well make summer linens? How did you get so proficient with sewing, you are admiral.
@@TomKatStitchery you are incredible! Wish I hadn't stopped sewing for 35 years.
The Vogue coat pattern is on sale presently.
It makes me feel so much better to know I"m not alone in my fabric collection 😂.
Great video. May I ask which j crew jeans you wear. They look great on you and I really need a new pair. 💗🌷💗
@@TomKatStitchery Thank you for the update and information on the fabric!
@@TomKatStitchery Thank you so much 🥰
I always get such great inspiration from these videos, Whitney!
@@TomKatStitchery Glad you understood that! Thanks :)
Your blouse is gorgeous. What’s the fabric?
Thank you! It's a Lady McElroy cotton lawn that I grabbed off of Destashify!
What thread do you use for buttonholes.? Great video!
Most of the time, I use the regular Gutermann Mara 100. However, for coats, I like to use the Gutermann Mara 70. This is the same thread that I use for topstitching my jeans as well!
I recall a video where you demonstrated using the Allegro to make a golf skirt. I can't find it! Would you please direct me?
I show and talk about it at 42:14 in this video: ruclips.net/video/8F_b6qpDNoY/видео.html
When you order online how do you find exact colors and fabric's? My color's are a bit off.... still must make up.
I pretty much go off what I see on the computer (I use my color card a TON). Because the colors can vary, I don't get them all correct. Luckily, my misses are usually that the fabric is too cool for my skin tone and then it will usually be one of my daughter's colors. I also rely on color names (for instance, the color poppy is usually my red where as scarlet is usually cool).
hi kat i was wondering my son and husband ask me for joggers i was wondering if you use the Hudson pattern for everybody? like man woman
Haven't seen a lot of these made up yet. How do you find so much time?
I have everything made up now (I've just been slow in showing you guys). I am a fast sewer, but because this is my job, I do have quite a bit of my weekly time dedicated to sewing.
What type of buttonhole thread do you use?
For most, I just use the regular Gutermann Mara 100. However, when I'm doing machine buttonholes on coats and jackets I like to use the thicker Gutermann Mara 70. This is the same thread I use for topstitching my jeans!
Base membership in Cashmerette Club you get the month pattern you subscribe and all months going forward until you cancel. If you’re a plus or all access member you get all patterns, including previous patterns. I signed up for the all access to get the master classes and 15% off patterns. If you’re a plus member you get 10% off all patterns.
Thank you! That makes much better sense
You said “they” have posted the capsule wardrobe colors.. who is “they”?
The Everyday Style account. I buy their seasonal wardrobes and then use them as inspiration for my sewing! There is a link to their site in the description box!
Don’t we all need to pump the brakes of fabric buying! So hard 🙃
It's SOOO hard!
🇨🇦😃
❤️❤️❤️
When the double breasted McKinsey gets the FBA, it would be a great look for spring thru all of summer. Go for it, Whitney. ~ L
This is very true!
The pants pattern looks like pea soup for a color.
It's more a kiwi, I think, but I haven't received it yet so fingers crossed 😂
You sew so much, do you get burned out and say “I don’t want to sew!”
I definitely go through periods where I'm not feeling it, but they are usually very short. I go through bigger slumps in the other crafts I enjoy, but for some reason sewing is always a short one!
