Heres a thought: Mutants are what made the "civil war" comics compelling. Without a significant percentage of the population as "freaks" of varying degrees of power, the accords actual make so much sense that heroes not complying does not make sense. I world love a full MCU reboot with all the characters in the mix. Maybe run some edits on the existing setup films to establish that not all civilians are human. And some of the more successful small time bad guys are mutants too. Pull a Brandon Sanderson on that reset button. Get serious and comprehensive.
By the time Marvel gets around to making the X-Men, Channing will be too old to play Gambit. Which is a shame. I think he would have done a great job at the character.
Edwin Sarmiento He did, but only for a little bit. Then he was planned to get a movie, but it kept getting pushed back, getting new directors/writers/script. The only constant was Channing Tatum. After no new updates, the movie was eventually cancelled.
Best thing they ever did imo. For real Gambit???? What a douche of a character, Fox had the good sense to realise it was a character not worth developing. There are far superior characters that deserve more focus than that tool.
Worst mishandling of the X-Men saga was done to Storm. Great mutant, even greater actress, but she was always in the back, barely got any significant action and sadly, she ended up bitchslapped, biting the dust in the first couple of seconds of every fighting scenes.
Yeah they really misshandled Storm and Cyclops. They sidelined two of the most important X-Men characters, one of who is actually the leader of the X-men team, and storm is the professor’s right hand woman for most of the comics history.
@@thedeepfriar745 Yeah Cyclops too, could have been a phenomenal mutant but got worst screen time than Storm. I really hope they get rebooted properly by Marvel this time.
Storm is one of the most powerful characters literally and she was treated like a sideline same with Cyclops whos actually the leader of the X men they were sucking wolverine so much they forgot about the most important characters
They will surely get to redeem Storm by casting Angela Basett. Nevermind her age let alone her inaccurate height. She will nail it just like what she did with her AHS performance.
May have been due to the paint bothering her. She had stated it before. Even the original actress who play Mystic was glad she was able to not be in makeup when she was changed human.
@Rob Moss exactly...!!! Let's not forget that even though there was BEAST and even Colossus on the team...Rogue was the FEMALE "muscle" that took care of things (while flying around per usual) while Jean stands her ass in the back and faints after using a mind trick or two. I hope in the future someone does this character justice because I swear she is an Important member of the X-Men.
Basically (and let me say I think its bullshit but anyway this is it): X-men 1-3 is one timeline. First Class is a new timeline. And Days of Future Past is another new timeline. It gets confusing because they use a lot of the same actors so its easy to recognise everyone, but the intention apparently is that there are three distinct timelines. All Wolverine movies are in the original timeline (which is why the credits scene in The Wolverine doesn't actually tie into DoFP, but unintentionally it ties more into Logan). Both Deadpool movies are in the DoFP timeline (which is why so much tech exists in modern day that controls mutants, because they been a problem since the 70s).
@@RamblyBear X-Men 1-3, First Class and The Wolverine are all the same timeline. It was at the end of Days of Future Past that created a new timeline and completely erased all the other movies. The one's that are not connected are X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Logan.
Always understood that line as "McAvoy my Stewarts" I didn't now what that was supposed to mean but coming from Deadpool it felt to me as being something dirty

Hahahahaha The funny part is, i didnt have a huge problem with that. If they would have developed her character into the leader that rogue is in the comics, i think it could have redeemed it. Oh and just skipped jubilee all together. Not knocking the character, but just for continuity sake like she talked about.
If I directed the X-Men Movies, I would have Jubilee be the rookie character in the movies like in the Cartoon, and try to make her bearable, rather than giving that role to Rouge and make her look weak.

Fox didn’t make the first dark Phoenix cartoon, marvel did. Marvel sold the rights in the late 90’s, but the first episode of the X-men first aired on October,1992. It was on fox, but wasn’t made by them.
They killed off the unkillable black guy... you can't make this shit up. I mean hell, Darwin went toe to toe with the Hulk by simply having his mutant abilities teleport him as far away as possible from his rage.
Yes.....that is the point. Darwin couldn't survive more than one punch from the hulk. His powers teleported him out of there because otherwise he would have died. Sebastian Shaw on the other hand can absorb and control massive amounts of kinetic energy. As an example he once beat up rogue in Xtreme Xmen, whiles she was using the powers of several people including Ms Marvel. He punched her clear through several buildings and she stated that she hadn't been hit that hard since the last time she fought the hulk. From this we can surmise that Shaw could infact generate enough energy to kill Darwin. Also he put said energy inside the guy. We actually see him try to evolve a response and fail. It's one thing to grow gills, it's another to become tough enough to survive massive amounts of kinetic energy from inside you in a few seconds. The scene was clearly designed to show off how powerful Shaw is. Like Thanos beating the Hulk at the start of infinity war. I also dislike the fact that his being black somehow makes it worse. They killed off fricken Cyclops like a chump and he has been the leader of the X-men for how long, yet the black guy dies and that is a tragedy? Speaking as a black person...who cares. Darwin isn't really a major character. I would rather they mentioned characters like Gambit, Rogue or Storm who were all short changed badly by Fox.
@@emmanueludoidung5745 Cool. Great story. But you just overlooked the entire point of the OC: He should have at least teleported away. And it wasn't just one Black actor. There was also Zoe Kravitz. 😊
@@PlayaP69 The danger was inside of him....how was he supposed to teleport away from that. It takes time for his abilities to formulate a response. For instance in the Hulk comic he only teleported AFTER getting hit with the first punch. Also I am not racist. I don't care what color the person is.
Exactly, was gonna say the same thing. Sad how Hollywood lives up to their expectation of killing off black guyz in movies....even when they are 'unkillable'.

Every X-men movie ever: -magneto: lives a bitter life in the shadows somewhere -shit happens that upsets him (usually human threat against mutants) -Magneto: *shows up and enters vilain mode* -Charles Xavier: Erik no -Magneto: Erik yes - X-men try to stop Magneto -Sometimes at the last minute Magneto realises it's mean to be mean -Xavier's peaceful ways win over Magneto's angry ones, mutants and humans end up safe -Epilogue: Magneto: *brings apology chess board* should have listened to you bro Charles: oh bro~you never change! *They play chess*
That’s Apocalypse only. Magneto is never anything but a villain in the first X-Men film. In X2 he works with the X-Men but then betrays them and tries to commit the largest global genocide in history. In Last Stand he’s once again a villain all the way through, never helping the X-Men, and never showing any remorse for his role in Charles’s death, but showing remorse once he realizes he unleashed the worst version of Jean on the world. In First Class he’s an anti-hero until he goes straight villain in the end. In Days of Future Past he is freed from prison by Charles and they have some talks on the plane, but he once again betrays the X-Men and goes rogue as soon as they find Mystique and he becomes the primary antagonist from that point. The only X-Men movie (before Dark Phoenix, which I haven’t seen) to follow the plot you mentioned is Apocalypse. It is literally the only X-Men movie ever to end with Erik and Charles on the same side.

X-men Apocalypse : Litterally my first comment X-men Dark Phoenix: go watch it
Cloudipy He’s not ‘at peace’ or good before any of the movies. Ignoring the comics, Erik had already been forming his Brotherhood before the Mutant Registration Act is discussed in X-Men. In 2 he’s never not acting towards his own plan, he just uses the X-Men to help him accomplish his own ends. In Last Stand he’s been a problem for a while - as we see with the president meeting with Beast and others, Magneto has been viewed as a ‘terrorist,’ for a while before the cure existed. In Days of Future Past, he’s not living peacefully, but in prison waiting for a chance to enact his own plans. It is only Apocalypse where he seems to have legitimately wanted to go straight and stay out of events - the only time when he really wants to break free. It’s why he was so angry when his family was killed and the universe just kept setting him up on the same arc...if anything his ‘is this all that I am?’ monologue is very meta, as the movie’s experiment with Erik as seriously trying not to be an antagonist is abandoned and he moves toward full villain before actually ending the movie as a hero on the same side as Charles for the first time ever. Magneto never ended as good in the other films - if anything Charles is humoring him with chess. He’s serving a life sentence in X2, so he’s not exactly free to tell literally the only person who comes to visit him to drop dead, but they’re not on great terms. In Days of Future Past he’s again serving a life sentence but this time has no contact with anyone for a decade. The movies can get repetitive in certain ways but to say they’ve all got the same plot is untrue.
@@NathanDav42 you know when I say he's chilling peacefully somewhere it's just a funny way to say we don't hear about him until the next time humans do something shitty enough to make him show up as the movie vilain. The only problem with his powers is that he can’t control what his body will do to adapt, once in the comics he tried to fight hulk thinking his body will give him super strength but instead it gave him the power of teleportation and send him far far away, it’s a defensive power instead of offense

She was just discovering her powers. Of course she was so whiny. As I said in another comment, even the 90's cartoon version of Rogue tried to get the cure Apocalypse was offering.
@@chookiemunster yes, but that was brief. That particular instance in the 90s cartoon you're talking about was 1 episode and she ended up toughening up and NOT getting the cure (or somehow getting it back, don't remember). Sulky and whiny were never main characteristics of Rogue. At least, not from what I remember. It's been a minute, so perhaps I'm mistaken. As far as the movies go, they never developed her character to stop being whiny...she never progressed. She just gave up when she followed through with the cure and then *poof* no more Rouge. The movie hinted that the effects of the cure weren't lasting and had an opportunity to bring her back, but they did not. Perhaps Rouge is not a popular Xman so they didn't care to delve deeper into her character. Kinda how nobody ever talks about Morph and his brief history in the Xmen lol. Now of course, she never liked the fact that she couldn't share basic moments of affection like a kiss. She had her down moments and struggled with that (which became more evident with her *whatever you call it* with Gambit), but I don't recall her sulking to the extent they made it seem. She had a pretty strong, dominant personality in the 90s cartoon. They took away all of her charm and she ended up kinda stale for me, and she did not reflect the Rouge I am familiar with. Obviously they did not base her off the 90s cartoon, and I accepted that fact. Perhaps she wasn't as bold, fierce, and fun in the comics and their version stayed true to that....Still disappointed lol.

Here's me playing devil's advocate: I have no problem with her being a part of the team. They even handled her exit correctly at the end of First class. My problem: she didn't remain a bad guy. Thats where i think they messed up. She tried to believe in and foster Charles' vision, but ultimately, humanity confirmed her worst fears. Now she only cares about her people. Had they done that, i could have forgiven her time as a face.
I know i might get flack for this but Quicksilver was never an X-man either in the comics. Agreed. Jennifer Lawrence sucked. Rebecca's Romijn was at least closer to the character from the comics. Though I never understood why they made both of them naked. They could've just given her her black leather suit. Making her naked meant they had to edit fight scenes alot to cash her from more modest angles, which made the fight scenes feel choppy. Regardless of how you view it, that was the writers intention. Same as Days of Future Past. And while it doesn't fix the mountain of other problems these movies have, understanding that there are three separate timelines does remove a lot of continuity problems. It doesn't remove ALL continuity errors, just most of them. And explanations from the writers (especially Matthew Vaughn) seem to confirm this is what they envisioned. Basically the there are three timelines, that are made confusing because they share many of the same actors. So when they used Patrick in DoFP, its not to link the timelines, its just to keep things familiar to make it easier for casual audiences. X-Men 1-3 is one timeline. First Class is a new timeline. Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix are part of another new timeline. All Wolverine movies are in the original timeline (which is why The Wolverine end credits doesn't line up with DoFP. But does accidently does line up more with Logan). The two Deadpool movies so far, are in the Days of Future Past timeline (which is why there is a lot of modern tech design around surpressing mutant powers, because mutants emerged in the 60s).

Finally!!!! I think she was chosen just because of her popularity..and i may be wrong, as i remembered from x-men evolution, she is not the "hero" type like she is portraying the character in the recent x-men movies.
Actually she was casted as Mystique before the hunger games. If I remember correctly it was right after her first Oscar nom and right before THG. And I remember her saying how hard it was to be in two big movie franchises. I think she just wanted to be done for a long time but she signed a contract for 3 films. I know Apocalypse was supposed to be her last. So was Mcavoy and Fassbender's. They were just all done with it. (And she just jokingly said that she'll only come back as Mystique if Simon directed the last one.And he did so she just stuck to her word.) By the 2nd movie it was so obvious that the studio was trying to cash in on her popularity. And I think the only one to be blamed here is the studio. They just tried so hard to align Mystique to Katniss' character that they ended up effing up Mystique.
For cause, Wolverine was the fave/most relatable character,...his arc was far and away the most logical to follow. Comics perfected this 'marketing ploy' of PUSHING 'not so likable characters' to an audience as if they were the best or YOU were just stupid (a Stan Lee marketing ploy/gift for the ages that will haunt us till this genre is dead). The same tactics that are now seeing comics die off, will do the same to these movies, but much much faster, as the market needs to be so much larger to support the movie industry. Unlike comics, you can't simply 'reboot another arc/story line for a character' throwing most/everything out that made the story line/character likable,...and expect to keep an audience for long. This ALL started (or rather, got carried with) the retooling of X'Men (the SJW character/story line/arc retcon bs) because it is far and away the most popular comic line ever, and they (industry leaders) believed they could use/twist it to suit their end goals,...and they were wrong.

I had to learn to subvert my expectations by the third film and completely renounce the franchise after surviving “Origins”. So glad it’s in the MCU’s hands now.
If you want to make a good phoenix saga movie just scrap all your existing baggage and follow the template laid out in AS. I know it itself is based on the comic template but the pacing of the AS version wouldn't require much tweaking to turn into an awesome 2 movie arc.

I’m surprised no one mentions how Storm’s look changes constantly and even her voice after the Apocalypse reboot ?? Also how strong her powers are fluctuates.

Same for me. It's always about money. That's all the ever matters. That girl is popular so of course they need to get her in everything, so they can make $$$$$. I lost interest in xmen because of this as well.
i liked just about all of them. only ones i didn't like were the first 2 wolverine movies, especially the wolverine which is nearly unwatchable. logan on the other hand might be my favorite of them all.
X Men First Class was grear the only problem of Days of Future Past should have been the third and conclusive movie of the supposed reboot trilogy who could close all the arcs, in the second they should have explored the new status quo and the evolution and the fall of Magneto and Professor X and the new role of Mystique and in Future Past conclude and unite the two trilogies.
Thank you for mentioning storm! No one but black women seem to care! She's supposed to be tall dark and beautiful! Black women constantly get played by biracial women and it's hurtful! It makes us think the industry thinks our blackness is ugly.
Basically, everyone knows that the X-Men films were Wolverine-centric. The fact that all the misrepresented people you listed are original X-Men & key characters is very disappointing.
+Andre Wright Not all X-men films are Wolverine-centric. First Class, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, and the Deadpool films didn't feature Wolverine at all (despite his cameos).
While I don't agree that Darwin could headline his own movie, I thank you SO much for touching on the fact that he is unkillable, though I again don't like the fact that you attributed it also to him being a person of colour. Doesn't matter, Darwin is an omega level mutant, who is literally (to this point) unkillable. He doesn't even need to know what's hurting him to evolve to be protected, and the limits of his evolution are unknown. One time, he found himself sucked into space, and his body just evolved to the point that he didn't need to breathe to live.
I think it's more to set up how actually powerful Kevin bacons character was ment to be. As in being able to kill the unkillable man makes him a force to be threaten with. Yeah the concentration camp scene at the start of 1st class but it was to reinstate the idea.
@@mistaken_stranger8343, I get that they were making him out to be a dangerous SOB, but you don't do that by throwing away a characters ability. Would have made more sense if he killed literally anyone. It's like killing off Wolverine in his prime to set up how badass someone is. It's BS, but they got away with it because few people know who Darwin is/how powerful his mutation is. I feel like they set up Shaw as a badass SOB when he palmed a grenade, or took automatic fire from 10+ guys and a rocket launcher.
She brought up his race because killing off the black guy first in movies is played out and stupid. When you add the fact that he should be unkillable it just makes even less sense.
The MCU version was much closer to the spirit of the original, and was actually called Pietro. Bonus points for not being so horribly overpowered you need to come up with ways why there is even a problem for the heroes when Quicksilver exists.
I don't get likes i think i was cause of the troubles between fox and Marvel They have to choose one mutant (Scarlett Witch or Quick) so we can guess that they choose Scarlett
Dofp was shitty. The whole movie is based on making robots that can adapt to mutant powers by using mystiques DNA. But mystique cant do that. They wait 50 years to make sentinels that warm when attacked by cold. Freeze when attacked by heat wen refrigerators do that in the 1940s LOL
thank u for mentioning darwin, he's one of my favourite x-men besides nightcrawler. also nightcrawler n mystique's relationship could be explored some considering she's his mother lmao
FYI Darwin is an Omega Level mutant who has the most impressive feats that Marvel Comics had to remove him from earth just so he wouldn't solve all Earth's problems, funny but true. And Fox just said he's black so the "black guy dies first formula" is a go smh.
Sometimes I wondered if the director or writers of the X-Men ever really read the comic books I mean really read them? The phoenix saga till this day might be considered the best saga to ever be written and they destroyed it twice.....lol
I agree completely, WB is having the exact same problem with DC. The only truly fantastic hero's WB has done are Logan (credit to Huge Jackmen) and Deadpool. Deadpool is successful because Ryan Renolds is a serious comic geek. Disney has been hiring directors who know the stories because they understand how important brand loyalty is...
@@scottk1525 by 'Disney', you mean MCU? I'm not even MCU hard fans but we have to be honest, they have way better track record in filming comic book movies.
Is no one else completely dissatisfied with how Rogue was done? She was an ineffective crybaby in the films instead of the sassy southern girl. If that wasn't bad enough, they went and did an awful job on Gambit. Then to make matters worse they never give us those 2 characters in the same movie. Idk about any of you, but the Rogue/Gambit was one of my favorite aspects of the series and Fox didn't even try.
I liked rogue in the x men movies, because it made me like her more as a character with a story, but she was practically only in the original X men, and they made a stupid ass rogue cut for days of future past, just to give her like 4 mins of screen time. Gambit is one of the best X men and he appered in 1 MOVIE and was a complete ass wipe stupid character that did nothing.
@JUAN ROA Nothing true, the character Apocalypse is invented in 1986 in the comic books, just same like the story in the movie (2016) - to show up in 1983 . X-MEN APOCALYPSE -- IS GOOD MOVIE .Just the image of Apocalypse - EN SABAH NUR, was played by wrong actor .THE REAL APOCALYPSE IS THAT FROM THE ANIMATED SERIES 1992 -- DARK VIOLET ROBOTIC SUIT WITH MORE AFRO-SEMITIC LOOKING .
X-Men has been so bastardized the moment it hit mainstream culture. Every movie was like a chunk of the X-Men’s soul being eaten and shat out the proverbial Hollywood poopshoot.
Im so glad Disney owns X-men now; i hope they do justice to characters like Iceman, Gambit, storm, nightcrawler, and kitty pride. Especially Iceman. (Who is straight by the way)
Thank you, Iceman being gay was mindless pandering. Other than that, Fox were the only ones ballsy enough to make rated R superhero films around that time, so I'm conflicted about the buyout.
Darwin was the greatest disservice EVER. I as well as other black geeks are still pissed about it. If he adapts to anything as it took so much vfx to explain, THEN WHY DID HE DIE?!
Angela Stein in comics the man bullshit is wayy through literally everything, one time he was gonna fight the hulk and his body literally teleported him outta there, don't get me started on his Thor bit, His ability is so bullshit writers have no idea what they want to do to him... sooooo after all that years of comics to see him finally on the big screen (even got to introduce himself) die like trash is abit upsetting to his fan
Technically, she doesn't really become a "powerhouse" until after she steals Ms Marvel's powers... But, I'm forced (by the fact that you're correct...) to admit that I still agree with your statement...😂
@@DjDragonblade In the comics she steals the powers early on and by the time she was a X-Men she had the powers, she got it when she was with the Brotherhood when she was evil.
I liked Anna Paquin in the role, but you're absolutely right about Singer and Ratner making her weak in the films. I did like what they tried to do with her in the "Rogue Cut" of Days of Future Past.
I like Jennifer Lawrence but I really didn't like her as mystique she was not good and I didn't like the all 'good' stuff. She's great as a villain and Rebecca Romijn did such a wonderful job portraying mystique.
Great X-Men films: X-Men X-2: X Men United X-Men: First Class The Wolverine X-Men: Days of Future Past Logan Deadpool X-Men movies that are ok: Deadpool 2 X-Men movies that are stunningly incompetent: X-men Origins: Wolverine X-men: Apocalypse Dark Phoenix X- Men: The Last Stand. Though The Last Stand does have a few saving graces: The opening of the movie which acts as an introduction to Archangel is actually fantastic, it’s just a pity that they immediately afterwards never use such an awesome character. Kelsey Grammar as Beast is really good casting and he gives the character the proper intellectual wit that makes beast such a good character, and Frazier just plays him charmingly.
1000 subscribers with no videos challenge me too! Thought something was wrong with me or I should’ve read the comics. But you shouldn’t have to for a good movie
I agree with this video and would like to add Storm to the Mishandled Characters list...Storm was a vital and powerful character in the Comic and animation...the weaksauce shit they pulled in the movies was a travesty...
Except Blade was successful both critically and financially and proved comic book movies can still work after Batman and Robin screwed the pooch. We saw the X-Men hijack his all black leather color scheme after all.
@Destroy z Logan is the best X-Men movie that was created -- and it had problems, sure, but it was great. Doesn't mean the rest of the films weren't the lowest end of the Comic book movie spectrum.
Clearly Fox never heard of a mutant named Forge who has the mutant ability to build any sort of machine, like a Time Machine and use that as a Time travel device for DoFP. Fox only took all their development time towards Wolverine, Magneto, Professor X which worked for the most part, and for some reason tried with Mystique which didn't work.
The Disney and Marvel studios acquisitions screwed the series more. But Fox is still crap, they are the reason the Alien franchise failed too with alien 3.
@EROK X you like BVS, so can't really trust your movie judgement. But you're right with one thing that first DCEU movies made more money than first MCU or X-Men movies but that was just cashing in the already hot superhero market with super famous characters. Unlike MCU that literally created it's movie universe combining and bring to life characters no one really knew that much. And coming to studios Disney never made cuts to it's movies creating differences with the director unlike WB who cut justice league from 3 hours down to 2 hours, only cut Disney asked to make us to not make movies R rated and that too it's compromising with Deadpool coming into it's universe. I will agree with you that WB is not worse than fox and not all MCU movies are masterpieces but just that someone doesn't share your views on something doesn't make them haters. And reading your comment, I know what a cynic haters sounds like. THANK YOU AND DON'T BOTHER TO REPLY. Have fun

@@Legodingbatvideogame Shapiro 2024 good buddy.
Yeah, the whole thing with Darwin was some BS.
You forgot about Gambit.
Then again, so did Fox.
Pretty sure he only appeared in origins? Pls correct me if I'm wrong lol
Silver Comics gambit is so awesome with huge and intricate backstory who is also a character who at times jumps back and forth as a badguy to goodguy

Maybe one day an actual black woman will get to play Storm and not "Hollywood black".

Neither of them looks like comics Mystique, but the Lawrence version is a lot closer than the nude model with the permanently wet hair.

Hugh Jackman is Australian. Wolverine is Canadian.

Lawrence was not mystique at all, it was just katniss with blue makeup.

Deadpool puts it best in his first movie:
"McAvoy or Stewart? These alternate timelines are so confusing."
I've the solution, X-men 3 never existed.
Basically (and let me say I think its bullshit but anyway this is it):
X-men 1-3 is one timeline.
First Class is a new timeline.

Fox's Best Version of The Phoenix Saga was their first version, the animated version.
Amen
Fox didn’t make the first dark Phoenix cartoon, marvel did. Marvel sold the rights in the late 90’s, but the first episode of the X-men first aired on October,1992. It was on fox, but wasn’t made by them.
Same goes for animated Apocalypse
Marvel did X-Men animated tv series not Fox
So damn true

X-men Apocalypse :
Litterally my first comment
X-men Dark Phoenix:
go watch it
Cloudipy He’s not ‘at peace’ or good before any of the movies.

I don't care about Rouge and Iceman. Give me Rogue and Gambit. While you're at it, give me post Miss/Captain Marvel Rogue. The Rogue they gave us was so whiny lol.

Also, idk but the Marvel comics love shoving Wolverine into everything also, so that part's accurate.
At one point Wolverine was in the New Avengers, the X Men, X Force, and a Solo comic. I think he was running a school at this time too.
Wolverine is not even an interesting character to begin with. He is just the typical "shorty angry dude". They tried to give some depth for the character in the comics, but it always felt forced.
@I I don't think he's been in Guardians Of The Galaxy yet, but it would not shock me to learn he was.
Mutants are what made the "civil war" comics compelling.
I don't know exactly where, but there is an early 90s comic where Cyclops scheduled Wolverine on every team for a mission on which he went "You realize that I can't be everywhere at once?"
And then he was actaually in every Issue of every Team and nobody addressed it, because it was a cool self-ironic joke

Mystique shouldn't have been an X-Men, at all. That's not who she is. She isn't a team player, and no where close to a leader.
She was the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Freedom Force. She is actually a great team player and leader, however her number one priority is herself which is why she shouldn't lead the X-Men
Here's me playing devil's advocate:
I have no problem with her being a part of the team.
I like to pretend that version of mystique doesnt exist. Mystique from the first xmen movie was so badass.
I know i might get flack for this but Quicksilver was never an X-man either in the comics. He was in the Brotherhood, Avengers and other mutant teams but not the X-men itself and he doesn't like Xavier either and neither does his sister. So what they did with Mystique ain't all that different they just took it way way too far. Quicksilver is still Quicksilver just with different allegiances from the comics while J-Law is basically playing herself mixed with other characters she's played in the past and not Mystique.
She is a good leader. Unfortunately she is evil as sin.

Yep. I paused the video just to see if I was alone in this. I think DOFP would have worked, as a soft reboot, had they not messed up Apocalypse.
@@MsWillowbayOrelse you're more optimistic than me Bryan Singer did way too much to screw up his continuity.
@@RamblyBear the movie took place in the same time line as the movies before it that's not a reboot as far as the writers intentions they couldn't even explain to the audience how Xaiver was able to move his consciousness from his own body to another body that looked identical to his own and was paralyzed.
(And she just jokingly said that she'll only come back as Mystique if Simon directed the last one.And he did so she just stuck to her word.)
By the 2nd movie it was so obvious that the studio was trying to cash in on her popularity.
And I think the only one to be blamed here is the studio. They just tried so hard to align Mystique to Katniss' character that they ended up effing up Mystique.
Why? Is it because she's far from the og mystique? The seductive anti hero?
I think 99% of poeple would agree with you.

Finally!! Someone else acknowledges the overly wolverine-centric path of the xmen universe

Mark Seven Da Issue, that’s fair.
“Token black guy death” kind of overplayed BS.
👍
He became into dust so he doesn't had to deal with that bullshit.
He saw the opportunity to leave and took it.
Quiksilvers character is certainly entertaining and one of the best they've done but I would hardly say they "nailed" his character.
His scene is the best part of apocalypse
@@SlimKim3 yes it is
The MCU version was much closer to the spirit of the original, and was actually called Pietro. Bonus points for not being so horribly overpowered you need to come up with ways why there is even a problem for the heroes when Quicksilver exists.

They totally fucked this series up
Wait... mystique can change her appearance thanks to her mutation. Nightcrawler can change his location thanks to his mutation... genes i ques?
Rasnad nah he got his powers from his dad (azazel) the only thing he got from mystique his is skin colour
FYI Darwin is an Omega Level mutant who has the most impressive feats that Marvel Comics had to remove him from earth just so he wouldn't solve all Earth's problems, funny but true. And Fox just said he's black so the "black guy dies first formula" is a go smh.
@@bryantrs78 lool honestly its lowkey racist and very annoying. there should be a darwin film smh

How to fix your story: Read the SOURCE MATERIAL
It's crazy that you have so many A-list actors (Oscar-worthy, even) in one movie, but still manage to trash it. Well done, Fox. Well done.
You think that was bad? Just wait for the Disney movies.
@@scottk1525 by 'Disney', you mean MCU? I'm not even MCU hard fans but we have to be honest, they have way better track record in filming comic book movies.
@Silvuh Skull bruh, you'll never get enough plate. I mean we talk about multi billions of money there.
@Silvuh Skull World domination.
It isn't the actors that make a movie it is its story.
You are correct about fox changing the character of Rogue. Why did Fox do that?
I liked rogue in the x men movies, because it made me like her more as a character with a story, but she was practically only in the original X men, and they made a stupid ass rogue cut for days of future past, just to give her like 4 mins of screen time. Gambit is one of the best X men and he appered in 1 MOVIE and was a complete ass wipe stupid character that did nothing.
Watch Gambit play for keeps its pretty awesome Gambit
That's not bad, that's just a change.
Hey, you hold your tongue now! Gambit was one of the bright spots of that movie.
Days of future past saved the original timeline by making x3 not happen lol.
@Dragon Zord 1,2,&3 never happened because of Days of Future Past.
and then they ruined again with apocalypse and dark phoenix LOL
JUAN ROA they need to time travel again and erase this shit lol.
Also X-men origins
@JUAN ROA Nothing true, the character Apocalypse is invented in 1986 in the comic books, just same like the story in the movie (2016) - to show up in 1983 . X-MEN APOCALYPSE -- IS GOOD MOVIE .Just the image of Apocalypse - EN SABAH NUR, was played by wrong actor .THE REAL APOCALYPSE IS THAT FROM THE ANIMATED SERIES 1992 -- DARK VIOLET ROBOTIC SUIT WITH MORE AFRO-SEMITIC LOOKING .
Nothing beats the original Saturday morning cartoon after the comics.
J Law is horrible.
X-Men has been so bastardized the moment it hit mainstream culture. Every movie was like a chunk of the X-Men’s soul being eaten and shat out the proverbial Hollywood poopshoot.
90s cartoon all the way!
@CHRISTOPHER CASSIDY Horrible animation and subpar writing.

Thank you, Iceman being gay was mindless pandering. Other than that, Fox were the only ones ballsy enough to make rated R superhero films around that time, so I'm conflicted about the buyout.

X-2: X Men United
X-Men: First Class
The Wolverine

Logan
Deadpool
X-Men movies that are ok:
Deadpool 2
X-Men movies that are stunningly incompetent:
X-men Origins: Wolverine
X-men: Apocalypse
Dark Phoenix
X- Men: The Last Stand.
Though The Last Stand does have a few saving graces:
The opening of the movie which acts as an introduction to Archangel is actually fantastic, it’s just a pity that they immediately afterwards never use such an awesome character.
Kelsey Grammar as Beast is really good casting and he gives the character the proper intellectual wit that makes beast such a good character, and Frazier just plays him charmingly.

Doesn't mean the rest of the films weren't the lowest end of the Comic book movie spectrum.
Clearly Fox never heard of a mutant named Forge who has the mutant ability to build any sort of machine, like a Time Machine and use that as a Time travel device for DoFP. @EROK X why? Don't you think DCEU is all the way created wrong?
