I'm amazed at the Ford Galaxy coming last. My dad bought the updated (but I don't think all that different) version brand new in 2002, and kept it to 2013, by which time it had done over 130,000 miles. It was great. In later years it started to get a little crusty on the sills, but I really do mean a little. The air-con started leaking, and one of the driveshafts gave up in maybe 2011. But other than that, it was faultless.

The pre-facelift Galaxy/Volkswagen Sharan had all sorts of quality issues, they were also notorious for becoming last in the german "TÜV" survey.

Later Mk2 Galaxy’s were much improved but weren’t without their issues. Ford’s of this era offered very nice face value cars that after a few years of ownership were often riddled with issues.
With the all new 3rd incarnation, they had fixed much of what went wrong with them but the damage (to its image) had already been done.

My family had a MK1 & MK2 Galaxy 1.9TDI, and both of them needed full new gearboxes, and the turbo blew on both as well. Both had barely done 85K miles

I wanted to check how long did the Felicia live (I have exactly this one, from 1995, my first car I bought in 2010 and I still have her now as a weekend car, even drove it from Prague to London and back), yet if the plate reads P175 JSR, it tells me that the car registered to this plate is a 1997 Rover 416😮😮😮

It’s a false plate. If you look at the Jaguar XJ just before it, that is also P175 JSR. I’m guessing that because that year’s JD Power survey was relating to P-reg cars, they just found some examples of the model, and stuck P plates on them. That could be why they’re not shown on a proper road. Maybe the Rover 416 belonged to one of the production team or something, so they just whipped the plates off it to get the shots. It wasn’t as easy to check plates back in 1999 as it is nowadays.

That would make sense. Thank you for explaining ;) @@siwynjones

You got that right, this retarded repmobile finished bottom of the previous year’s survey and was heavily criticised for more than seven years! 🚗
