Thanks to those who were in the premiere and watched the entire video!
I will try to address some common things people confuse.
-The Casualties are too low or too high! - It only includes military casualties and for the reason its so high is for wounded, sick, dead and captured. I myself was also confused on why the Casualties were so high.
-No partisans! - I wanted to add partisans but it would be very confusing and laggy!
-Why is there no African front or why is the Pacific Front so small!? - I tried to include both Africa and Pacific but I wouldn't have made the deadline if I had to make the African front so I was only able to include northwestern Africa. For the Pacific Front being so small is due to it overlapping with the front in Europe.
-Why didn't you include all allied nations? - I wasn't able to fit them in.
And I also wanted to tell that I'm planning an amazing video in March, will reveal next week or two!
As always I wanted to thank you guys for watching this video, if you enjoyed the video please subscribe as only 2% of people watching my content are subscribed!

The Red Army suffered 29.6 million casualties, 10.1 million deaths/missing according to David Glantz. But the USSR suffered around 27 million deaths between civilians and the military. It's pretty strange.

They faced the German combine arms, saboteurs that the Soviet border patrol guards face the same of why Israeli border guards run much as far back to Haifa. Imagine your just new in a military camp and some folks airplane and infantry suddenly just take a cakewalk succesfully overwhelming and literally doesnt predict that theres no even weapons for offensive against Western Europe that works that time. There is a stereotype that Russia can only win by overwhelming numbers. The fact is, Germany was rolling over the whole of Europe exactly because they overwhelmed every single one of their enemies with numbers. They did exactly the same with the Soviet Union, initially they had numerical advantage as well(as you can see in this video). That's why they rolled over the whole of Ukrainian, Belarusian and Baltic territories. And only when the USSR started catching up in numbers did the Axis began to stall. Also, as you can see closer to the end of this video, that's why Allies rolled over Axis as well, they had an overwhelming numerical superiority, especially on the Western front.
By the way, the USSR lost less SOLDIERS(!) in percentage of their population than the Axis. The numbers of Soviet casualties everyone is taking when comparing includes civilian casualties, which were massacred en-masse by the Fascist occupiers. If we just take military casualties, and just Germany(which, although, had the most soldiers on the Eastern front of all Axis powers(about 77% of total numbers), 23% of soldiers were Italian, Romanian, Hungarian, Finnish, Slovakian), it lost from 6,4% to 7,7% of their 1939 population as military casualties, while the USSR lost from 4,6% to 6%!

In western front, the uk-france-benelux forces was numerically superior to germans, even in tank numbers. But germany had quality and better tactics. So youre dead wrong, germans didnt win with numbers. Youre probably adding germans total loss till the end of war, however in eastern front, soviets always suffered nearly twice as germans even when they were advancing.

    • @Novgorod_Republic
      @Novgorod_Republic 4 месяца назад +12

@@saysal9671 Losing 2 to 1 soldiers in a fight with a country that has 3 times less population than yours is losing less than that country, as I've said in the second part of my message, in the very end of it. Germany lost around 7% of it's population as military casualties while the USSR lost around 5%. Did you learn percents in your school? And speaking of 1940 Western front, Germans had numerical superiority in the areas they successfully attacked in.
The "German quality" is a myth. If they had so much quality, why weren't they capable of attacking further while the USSR catched up to them in numbers? And even after they surpassed them by twice, if having just twice as much soldiers on the frontline makes you stronger than going full quality as you all claim Germany has done, then quality clearly doesn't matter as much in effectiveness as numbers. The same goes for the Western front after the Allied landing in France. Why didn't Germany that had such superior quality manage to push them back? I think it's clear that the Soviet military doctrine(that the USA also employed when they intervened into WW2, by the way) of having a lot of "good enough" is clearly superior in a real war. And Germany has shown that as well by rolling over everyone who were numerically inferior to them prior to 1942.

Its a pure debate about doctrine and army tactics, the reason Germany had superiour numbers in local battles is because their combined arms and concentration of attack doctrines allowed them to always regionally outnumber the enemy. By the logic of pure amount of men mattering, the Soviet Union wouldve overwhelmed the Germans already in 1942 when they had double the numbers of Germany.
Germany had not only more modernized and up to date offensive doctrines, but they were also the first ones to develop combined arms firepower and the active use of CAS.
Germany undoubteldy had a higher quality in its way of warfare in the early stages of the war, but overstreched supplies, lack of oil, overengineering in their mobile technologies and sheer number of enemy troops at the end caused the collapse.

The video is great, but there are a number of flaws. First, it was worth identifying the largest cities, or at least the capitals. This is important, because the most important battle of the Second World War was the battle for Moscow, the capital and the main transport hub of the Soviet country. Second, what about the losses? Where did 32 million come from on the Soviets? In the comment below, you said that only the military took it, and this puzzles me even more. Maybe it was me, of course, who confused the losses with the number of those who passed through the front, but this is all alarming.

The German military was one of the best, if not the best, of all time. Extremely skilled and effective. With speed and effectiveness and efficiency and success unseen before. The extremely great k/d ratio from the beginning to middle of the war. It took 3 (arguably 4) superpowers including two massive ones (economically industrially population wise and size wise) and dozens of countries in total to take them and their weak allies out. Insanely superior. No wonder they desperately wanted to subdue Germany since the unification in the mid 1800s

Notice how by December 1941, the German invasion almost grinds to a natural halt. The Soviet front was caught almost completely suprise thanks to Stalin refusing to listen to the warnings from Zhukov and Rokossovsky. The German lines pushed so far and so fast that supplies could no longer efficiently get up the line, Partisan pockets were everywhere, transferring PoW's to camps became a logistical nightmare, the terrain was awful for the trucks and the tanks and parts could not be replaced. Barbarossa was incredibly effective, yet still was never going to be enough. Despite the 4 million casualties, including wounded, missing and PoW's, the Soviets still outnumbered the Germans by the end of the year along the front to the amazement of the German command. The writing was on the wall as early as the failure of Barbarossa to capture it's key objectives, and its arguable that even successfully capturing Leningrad and Moscow, or even pushing to the A-A line, they still would not have won.

Don't forget the winners who write the history.
Soviet was willing to join Germany as their ally, Hitler refused and then attacked Russia. If Hitler never started a war against the soviet we would be living in a different world.
