What I personally think it needs
    1. Schematics like the good old days from fallout 3 , instead of legendary weapons ,
    2. Casino like games from fallout nv
    3. If there’s a ending we can still continue from the ending and see what happens from our choices
    4. Survival duh , and with it a bit of a sorta roleplay mechanic man , some people like to role play in the games ,
    5. Better speech mechanics maybe go towards fallout nv sorta traits and perks instead of the fallout 4 mechanics
    6. Time, make sure there aren’t to many bugs atleast from the very beginning they need to have more then 100 players have a beta version to try it out and see what they see and fix what they can , so they should take their time instead of rushing it
    7. GIVE ME THE KHANS BACK! , I’ve liked to roleplay as them sadly we can’t do much with Khans in fallout nv and you get shot on sight by everyone I can understand why but idk , kinda liked them , as a faction not their raiding actions , just them selling the “goods”
8.better factions or returning factions just like the khans , bring back the enclave , heck maybe we can play as them at some point , or have alternative starts , from being with each faction or simply being a wanderer
    9. Different kinds of bullets just like nv
    10. Yup that’s it kinda long but yeah
    11. You read this your kinda crazy like me :3 have a good day

I disagree with a level cap, who doesnt wanna be a naked murder hobo that can fist fight a deathclaw
Some other things FO5 needs to have: Keep the settlement building and add onto it, the fact that you could build your own town is awesome, plus it gives purpose to all that junk you find while exploring the wasteland.

I agree with you. They need to draw back the settlements tho. Seemed like most places were just a area for me to build. Add some more small towns (like Goodsprings in NV) and then let the player build in a area just outside the town. Like a add on to the town that’s would be cool.
I personally don’t really enjoy the settlement building. But it may just be because Bethesda shoved it down my throat in FO4. Good mechanic I just don’t think it should be a “main gameplay feature” or at least as prevalent in the game as a main game feature

I’d argue there are other things FO5 needs much more in order to be spectacular:
    1. A non-linear story; stop forcing your preferred narrative down my throat, Bethesda, this is an RPG
    2. Permanent consequences to your decisions that affect how factions perceive you (where it isn’t just them running up at you shooting at random) and how the wasteland and its inhabitants interact with you
    3. A major aesthetic overhaul. Less 50s outfits. Less garbage everywhere. I refuse to believe people would want to live in 200 year old filth and not at least *try* to rebuild.
    4. NEW factions and NEW intelligent creatures. We’ve seen enough super mutants and more than enough from the Brotherhood of Steel. Repetition is boring, and the BoS aren’t even canonically accurate anymore in their depiction anyway.
    5. Last but not least-the ability to mutate into a super mutant, ghoul, and/or something completely new. I *know* I’m not alone on this one.

So taking a look from other games including previous ones, I thought out new features I think would be awesome they would add that I think fit in the lore (sorry if they’re not few):
    1. Usable cars (we’ve seen them in fallout 1 & 2, the highwayman)
    2. if not cars, then at least rideable horses (cause c’mon, F4’s Dogmeat survived a nuclear bomb unscathed, but horses can't?)
    3. New tanky creatures apart from death claws (we see the same creatures in every game with just about 3 new ones each game… but that’s about it)
    4. Better gun design (awful fallout 4 assault rifle design)
    5. Maybe some kind of VATS + eagle eye mechanic from RDR2 (guess it could work in lore?)
    6. Be able to punch or kick someone in the dick or in the eyes using VATS… just a better VATS system (PLEASEEEEE)
    7. Mods on console (we need it… even though chances are almost impossible)
    8. If they were to add multiplayer, it should work similar to a souls in the way of calling them from time to time, but no limited time or anything (I think coop is something that they could’ve done well, but bethesda is bethesda)
    9. If they added usable cars and stuff, I need Vertibirds (Please)
    10. Parkour animations (at least really basic ones like mantle)
    10. Clean settlements and safe places (how tf have they been living there all this time without cleaning some trash?)
And that’s about it, there’s a fuck ton of things Bethesda can improve on. Not just narrative wise but gameplay too, they’re not obligated to add all these, it’s just my wishlist, but boy oh boy it would be just outright a better game with at least 4 of these

      About number 8
The reason multiplayer flopped and was so buggy was also because of its engine since it’s so old and works only for single player experience. So if they want to make a good fallout game with all these features, then they’d have to make a new engine, which… just maybe… it’s probably why they’re taking so long… nah

  • @StruttinStrayCat

I think they should take a page from Red Dead Redemption 2 and make it so hair and facial hair grow and food, hydration, sleep, and cleanliness matter. If you don’t take care of yourself and get too irradiated, you could start turning into a ghoul, which would lead to otherwise unavailable perks and hindrances.
Also, wearing certain outfits should make you blend in or stand out in various ways that lead to various interactions. For example, dressing like a Raider should make NPC’s recognize and treat you as a Raider - which could lead to a much more chaotic playthrough since Raiders are generally despised - yet you might get special treatment from Raiders as a result, which could open all kinds of quests and opportunities. I think it’s immersion-breaking when you can be dressed in faction-specific attire but get treated with the same amount of hostility by everyone in the wasteland. If I’m wearing power armor, regardless whether I’m apart of the Brotherhood, people should at least recognize that I LOOK like the Brotherhood and respond accordingly.
These are a couple of things I would love to see in Fallout 5 to make it far more immersive and impactful.

One thing I'd like to see is raiders use chems when fighting. They only use stimpaks so seeing them use something else would be cool. Imagine seeing a raider jamming pchyco jet and seeing them run at you with a sledgehammer being able to dish out tons more damage but also moving so fast that you have to use VATS or the raider jamming med-x in making them take tons of damage . Don't know what they'd use the other chems for though.

But lvl capping feels cheap and would most likely get you out of the game before even finishing the main questline i always wanna feel like i can improve somewhere and if im lvl 200 after 200hr of gameplay then i wouldnt mind if certain areas be a cake walk. Having certain really dangerously notorious places would be cool to balance it out

Speech is shown amazingly in 76.
Crafting and such is also great in 76, like the plans.
76 also has the currently best faces, honestly perk faces sound awful.
Creation engine 2 is going be running Starfield and TE6. It looks really promising. Also great for modding.
    Yeah.
Skill points kinda sucked, it made a percentage system into a 3rd person world. So it just made the game clunky.
Now I see your bias :/
Imo, side quests are the mvp of roleplay game
All and all, I think Bethesda truly understands what to make. But doesn't know the audience. You constantly hear about interviews with Todd about not of the game, but of the audience. He wants to bring in a new group of people, but to do that you have to go against a lot of original fans opinions. But since they only released 2 fallout games (3 is needlessly compared to NV as they are both very good, competent games), we can't completely judge the games. It isn't like the original fallouts past the 2nd game are really remembered.
