Thank you very much for the video and narration. I have many fond memories of growing up in that area and going to the Orange mall. I recall eating at that Carl's Jr. located on the corner within the mall, which was quite unique to me. That area, all the way down Tustin Avenue were my old stomping grounds like the Big "O" skatepark, which was later transformed into a water park, Holiday Skate Rink, Knowlwood's Burgers, Shakey's Pizza, Toy City, and Frank's Hobby Shop, among others. I could reminisce about these places for days and go on and on. Your description of the Sears architecture particularly resonated with me. My mom was a frequent visitor to that Sears, and I vividly remember the architecture of the store each time we entered. Although she is no longer with me, your narration momentarily took me back to those times when I was a kid and would hold her hand as we walked from the parking lot into Sears. Thank you so much.

That water park had the section fall out & i think ended the water park. Tustin Ave was my stomping grounds as well. Toy City was my toy store & Farrell's ice cream parlor for b-days. Vans for my yearly shoes. Earl's diner for breakfast.
Thanks for watching...r.i.p. Mall of Orange

Cool video. I used to frequent the Mall of Orange until about 1983 when my mom and I moved to Irvine. It was the best way to get out of the condominium in the 92807 and the summer heat since we didn’t have air conditioning.
The only thing missing is you didn’t mention the old AMC 6 theater in the back parking lot.

Things continue to evolve and change with new chain stores and restaurants taking over which perhaps most people rather shop at instead of independent small places.

Dang when ROSS and Sees Candy is gone you know you have problems. I almost forgot about this mall but used to visit it about 10-12 years ago and popped in Sears a couple times.
Beyond that I mostly went to this center to visit Wal Mart and Trader Joe's which are not directly connected to it.
There's not great freeway access/visibility for this mall and really only 1 street to provide traffic which to me meant it was always doomed. Wonder what they will do with it .
