I think I’ll build on sand by the sea. Ah! What a view. Why is sand moving? Where is sand going? Why will no one buy my house by the sea with the nice view?
The synth soundtrack focuses me on the hopes lost by those homeowners. I can only hope they were second homes that served they purpose, and not people's retirement plans. Those carefully constructed steps and driveways now leading to a drop to the beach and the sea... Meanwhile, to the north, the quay at cley-next-the-sea is separated from the sea by a mile of salt marshes deposited since there was a harbour there.
Interesting to note that the area where the large rocks have been dumped has not eroded so much. It looks as though the houses were built on sand. A beautiful but precarious existence. Best wishes to all the residents.
You make an excellent observation! The presence of the large rocks does seem to provide some stabilization against erosion. It's fascinating how natural barriers like these can have such a significant impact. And yes, building on sand can indeed pose risks, especially in coastal areas where erosion and shifting sands are common. It's a beautiful location, but it definitely requires careful consideration and planning to ensure the structures remain safe.
It would help if the CROWN ESTATES Stopped offshore dredging along the Norfolk Coastline. Digging holes in the seabed just results in sand moving to fill in the holes. Effectivly stealing the land out from under the homes of the public.
"Thanks for watching and noticing that! Yes, the erosion is a serious issue here, and at 2:50 you can really see how crucial it is to implement solutions. That section shows a prime example of what could be done to prevent further damage. Hopefully, this brings more attention to the measures needed to protect our coastline!"
Nah, it only works for a short while then the next storm shifts things and the storm after starts erosion again, then their is the cost, and then their is the problem when it starts eroding behind the ends, It’s never ending
The stone defences seem to work. There should be more of it the length of beach to save the homes of those in actual danger and danger to life. Governemnt has failed to protect its citizens. Again...

The solution to stop this can clearly be seen at 2:50 of the video
