Remember, he may have learned Forced Spirit Fission but it was Goku’s final hit that finally got rid of Moro for good. If nothing else, Forced Spirit Fission, even in the Planet Moro battle, was key to help Goku win because Moro needed to be weakened. But in the same sense, it is ultimately still Goku’s technique that provided the victory and Vegeta just paved the way (albeit in a necessary way this time like a person may rough someone up to let another cleanly knock them out)
@@MasakoX the last arc did not give us hope. Even if Vegeta surpasses Goku, the characters themselves talk nonstop of Goku regardless. @@littletiffany9089 Yeah i know, i am just saying that if Toryama wanted, he could change Vegeta's dynamic without ruining the character in the process. Vegeta doesn't need to always be weaker than Goku, his purpose doesn't need to be to surpass him. Vegeta can change, he can be written in a different way. And while this will change the character's identity, it won't be necessarily for the worst.
Vegeta's character archetype. Vegeta upon first introduction, was a Saiyan antagonist, self aborbed in his royal saiyan pride, as a elite warrior. He didn't require training and believed himself to be the strongest saiyan warrior. He visited Earth to use the Dragon Balls to grant himself ultimate power to overthrow frieza and rule the universe. He didn't have a growth mindset, like Goku, where he believed he could improve, nor did he believe in seeking help from other people, as he viewed such a thing, as a weakness. After the events of Namek and the knowledge of Goku becoming the legendary super saiyan and defeating Frieza. He started to focus all his rage and motivation in surpassing goku. Initially through brute force training. He still fought selfishly, and for only himself. He viewed fighting, only for the sake of proving himself to be the best warrior ever. When Goku once again, surprised the prince, with his version of training, and to his further annoyance, now his rivals son had surpassed him. This once again, showed Vegeta that their was something else he was missing. If sheer training doesn't help, what then? Vegeta then found himself a family and thought that was the source of Goku's strength. Still Goku in the afterlife, had again, managed to surpass him, with SSJ3. Even going back to his dark roots didn't bring him closer to Goku. Then came Vegeta's proclamation during the Kid Buu fight, that It was more than training, more than family, and more than just having interesting friends and mentors. It was spiritual enlightment, he was missing. Son Goku character archtype is based and inspired by Journey to the West. Sun Wukong is a mythical sage who is selfishly obsessed with fighting and even fights the Buddha! By the end of the story, Son Wukong is granted Buddhahood and enlightment for helping to retrieve the Buddhist Scrolls. This related because Son Goku is also a being who through his adventures and fighting, finds within himself, spiritual enlightment. You may doubt this idea that Son Goku is a "enlightened being" But you have to consider the Eastern Traditions conception of Enlightment, which is "emptyness" This is the first step in Buddhist-Daoist enlightment. It's called "Satari" or first enlightment. In the cultivation of Zen, this kind of mindset is what is required to reach newfound spiritual heights. As for Vegeta. This is what he realized and after the Buu arc, he went on a "spiritual pilgrimage" in finding new masters and such, to teach him this kind of mindset and spirit. This is who Vegeta is now, thanks to Son Goku's greatest strength, which is to allow others to find greater strength within themselves, through the Philosophical depths of martial arts. To put it simply. Vegeta, realized that the wall he continues to push himself over, is not Son Goku, it is himself. The greatest person you will ever face, is yourself, your own thoughts, and fears. Vegeta was always fighting others and externalizing his own pitfalls onto others, instead of fighting himself. This pattern is apperent, in other villains in Dragon Ball. Son Goku is a being, who has always viewed his own spirit, as his wall to climb over. He shows mercy and compassion to others due to his Buddha nature, and to allow others to find this truth as well. Again, not to prove anything, but to find greater meaning "I'll surpass Kakarot in my own way" that although sounds like character regression. It reflects my own point I was making. Son Goku's character has rubbed off on Vegeta. He went from a guy like Frieza who thought he was above all else. To someone who used brute force training on his body, without training his mind. He wasn't open to help from his family or friends or even mentors, UNTIL the kid Buu speech. That's when he understood Gokus character, and why he fights the way he does. Not as a Saiyan, but as an Earthling. Since Earthlings and Martial Artists are based on Martial Artists in East Asian Cultures. That would imply Buddhism and Daoism as their belief systems. Vegeta has now grown to accept help from others (Whis, Yardrats, etc) and by his interaction by Goku, pushes himself the way Goku does(as close as he can.) Again Dragon Ball is the story of Son Goku and his spiritual enlightenment. If you recall my conversation on Buddhism. I said that Goku is like a Bodhisattva, which are beings who are enlightened and practice universal compassion. They exist to help others achieve spiritual enlightenment (i.e Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, Android's, Buu etc) As for the recent developments with Beerus and Vegeta : He wants Vegeta to embrace his saiyan biology and love of Destruction, which is something that gods of Destruction And Saiyans have always had in common. It makes sense, since Vegeta has strayed away from his saiyan inclinations, as early as the Buu arc. We have seen the "earthling" side of him, have more influence on him than anything else, again based on Goku's buddha nature. Vegeta is still lost on the path of strength Beerus is referring to all the earthling baggage that has invaded vegetas character. (I e his love for family, friends, his sinful actions on Namek etc.) Beerus wants Vegeta to let all that go, and enter a state of buddhist emptiness(Śūnyatā) like Ultra Instinct, except to channel destruction!
In the DBZ Manga, the updated Kanzenben release, Toriyama wrote Vegeta saying "he has yet to catch up with Goku" at the End of Z. So we know that after the timeskip, Goku is ahead
For vegeta to me at least I draw a paralell to a real life martial arts journey. Constant failing, victories, training, learning all to become a better version of yourself. Becoming stronger than someone you never could and overcoming them is a life changing event. Vegeta finally overcoming goku may not necessarily matter to us, but I can see how it would matter to vegeta. Vegeta was using goku as a goal but in reality there is no end to it for a true fighter. There will always be someone faster, stronger, and better than you. I think vegeta is finally coming to grips with this and is now just putting his all into learning
Awesome content as always maseko 👌 I was pondering a what If which I've never seen anyone do and thought would be interesting- When kami and piccolo re unite make kami the host for the fusion for 2 reasons. 1) with the guardian of earth still there no loss of dragonballs 2) kami has the originally body as junior is an offspring of piccolo daimao so a case could be argued although kami is old and weaker than current piccolo he has the "original" body and could make the fusion much stronger
let's face it, he's never going to surpass goku for more then a brief stint. especially when goku finds a form stronger than ultra instinct or stronger than a GoD.
It's funny that any being can get god powers just from being guardian of a random planet. Makes more sense that Garlic Jr & his Dad wanted the job so badly
It seems like if a new universe gets created we'd have a brand new set of gods. Vegeta as the G.O.D., Goku as the new Angel, and probably Piccolo as their Supreme Kai.
If goku's ultra instinct is meant to separate himself from his conscious mind and yet he still spared morrow it means simply put that that instinct that he has is subconscious as well... which is a real problem imo
What I ve enjoyed about Vegetas develop in Dragon Ball Super is how its going to transition into the Vegeta at the end of Z, a Vegeta that has actually conquered his guilt and shame he himself felt from his past sins and being part of the Saiyans. This arc is doing well picking up from where the Moro arc left off in Vegetas journey and hopefully he learns more than just the Hakai
You know... come to think of it. With the God of Destruction, Angel, and Kai triad... I don't expect it to happen but wouldn't it be interesting if Gohan finished that triad? It would be a nice call back to him training on the world of the Kais during the Buu saga and give the mystic/ultimate form more lore and even a grander purpose. Maybe Gohan could get the power of the Kais from it if he trained more with the Elder Kai. Again I don't except it to happen, but would be an interesting idea.
Well when you say it like that I can say that it both does and doesn't matter. It does matter because it is a new development to the Vegeta character and be interesting to see how he fights and reacts to others with this path, especially with Goku who somewhat is the same guy through the whole story (in attitude but not necessarily principals as they've changed through Z as well) However when it comes to physical power it won't because Goku's whole thing is to break his limits every time, always going to where no one has been, and if they did then leave a big mark on it to make it his own
This is way deeper than I expected! Still, I can't help but think Beerus won't be entirely helpful. In some cases, Vegeta's awareness plays key roles, particularly his newfound 'kindness' and mercy especially regarding his past. If you throw an uncaring Vegeta and vengeful Granolah together, his new technique would only be stirring the pot.
Yeah Vegeta will get stronger then Immediately after Goku will learn "Omega Instincts" which will be a form only the grand-priest is suppose to know. I'm calling it now
The End of Z never implied that Vegeta even caught up to Goku. He needed Uub as someone as strong as him to defend Earth or whatever... making Vegeta irrelevant. Point being: Goku is stronger than Vegeta by the End of Z by such great lengths, that Goku went to Uub
@@littletiffany9089 no End of Z Vegeta will wipe the floor with Uub. Goku went to Uub because Vegeta and Goku are getting old they only have about 15 years left before they rapid age. Gohan doesn't want to fight, and Trunk and Goten are playboys. That's why he chose Uub
If Goku is training in the Ways of Angels, Vegeta is Training as G.o.D., and I'd LOVE to see Gohan lean into his Kai training, he could even get Kaioken, and imagine a mix of Kaioken and Ultimate....unless Ultimate would give the Kaioken boost as well. It would be intriguing to see.
I wonder if it’s possible to learn Zeno deleting power (I do not think he destroys anything, it’s more like deleting something on your phone or computer.), comparing it to the hakai is like comparing instantaneous movement, too instant transmission (no matter how much you train with it, it will never be as good, but if the user is smarter, and/or more experience, they could beat the user of the more advanced technique.
its nice to see Vegeta getting the spotlight and a new transformation for awhile, especially since Goku has gotten dull and repetitive over the years, sadly if history has proven anything this will only be temporary and sooner or later Toriyama will find some way for Goku to surpass and leave Vegeta in the dust once again
Yes. I know you are a bit meh on Vegeta but it will matter. Anyhow, I've said for a while that it would make sense for Veg to develop ki reading after the Yardrat training, which you can use for insane hax like controlling someone else's body or precognition. It's the ultimate counter to UI, movement without thought v. 100% prediction of movements via concentration. I don't buy for a second Moro was stronger than UI Goku. They were the same. Good run down of kai powers.
Of course, creation and destruction working together. Something comes up, grand supreme kai seals it, hands it to beerus "Hey can you get rid of this?"
You know, that's why having a power cap is so important. Imagine it like a game that doesn't have level caps. Whoever playing longest and with the best strategies will always be on top. If there was a cap, a limit to their power, they could both be just as strong and fight together.
I'm interested in seeing how his new power and resolute conflicts with his very personal feelings for Bulma and Trunks. If someone tried to harm him does he keep his G of D demeanor, or does he snap in a "DON'T TOUCH MY BULMA" fit of rage.
Just more of the same. Speaking of which, 3-0. When? >Billy wants Geets to change In a way that rejects much of the changes (and reasons for them) he has been celebrated for. Self-loathing, guilt tripping, etc. with atonement for past (and ancestral) sins like a kek-ass baizuo? AT's cat's self-insert ain't about it, apparently. >higher control Further refinement of the lessons learned on Yardrat, you say?
Forgot to mention in my last comment, this is a little weak for a retcon. Beerus acts like UI is a joke for people like him, but is also known for having an Instinct technique and altogether involved with UI.
It’s weird because for Goku he unlocked a transformation that elevated his power to utilize the ultra instinct technique, so will Vegeta unlock a form that also elevated him similarly in order for him to use Hikai ?
I was kind of hoping that Vegeta would learn something more tactical and become the Ultra Instinct Counter Guy. Beerus spent millions of years training with Whis, and UI isn't infallible since it didn't stop Jiren. So I thought Beerus could be the one to teach Vegeta something like that. Making Piccolo the counter guy could be nice too, but how would he learn it? The thing is, responding with emotional rage and not callous detachment... it's what I love the most about Vegeta. I love how his character progressed, and how he learned to fight to protect others, and how he feels remorse for the sins of his past. Is he really going to listen to Beerus? Because being unfettered only got him so far, while actually caring got him up to SSBE. If rage won't cut it, and shrugging off shock isn't his style, then maybe detachment and unfeeling destruction might make him stronger, but it would fly in the face of one of the greatest character arcs in anime.

Honestly if Vegeta were to get stronger than Goku it would make alot of sense because it would kinda bring back the old days in a way. I would also like to see vegeta have another moment to shine.
@Gerald Tyler The flashbacks Vegeta has to the Saiyan Saga seem traumatic to him. Vegeta talks about it as the time "Goku beat him." That is simply how Vegeta himself acknowledges the event in flashbacks
vegeta will never be stronger than goku, goku just likes to fight without malice, he just loves to fight that's all vegeta on the other hand still screams prince of saiyans.
Beerus: Creation and destruction work together
Me: You like FMA, don't you Beerus.
Of course not. Because no matter how hard Vegeta tries, he'll always be second fiddle to Goku. And Piccolo, Tien, and Krillin know this all too well themselves.
I don't know about all that, but Vegeta is undefeated against Goku.
@@BigVEE That's only because Goku was off guard and Vegeta cheated. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Vegeta doesn't exactly fight fair himself.

No rules in real fights, lad. Best not to be a scrub. Pen is mightier than the sword, right? War of words won the day. Just as with the Ginyu incident, Vegeta played him for a fool.
>doesn't fight fair
And? What made you think this was any concern of mine? You daft? How do you even imagine that relates to the fact Vegeta has only ever beaten Goku in fights? Is the ref going to leap out and call for a DQ? This the Budokai?
remember in GT where Vegeta just became more chill and down to earth? Ah that was a good time, now we get to see him change his way of thinking about fighting
Probably not, just like when he was stronger than Goku in the cell saga it’ll be a temporary, hollow victory.
@Super Mario Fan another rout that they could take, which I would be for, is if Vegeta found some way to get much, much stronger than Goku through means Goku simply can’t achieve through one reason or another. I want to see what happens when Vegeta finally becomes stronger than Goku like he’s been trying for so many years, only to have that “what now?” moment. That would leave him open to Roshi/Goku’s philosophy, that there’s *always* someone stronger than him.
@@Slender_Man_186 the "what now?" Thing is precisely why they did not have Vegeta truly surpass Goku. "What now" is probably what the writers themselves are wondering what to do with Vegeta if he surpasses Goku
@@moniques6204 well whatever they do with him it’d be better than having him repeat the same “for my family” story beat from the Buu saga again and again, they pulled that like 3 times in the ToP alone.

Super Saiyan Purple Vegeta
Masako don’t give Vegeta fans hope, we all love the guy but Goku’s plot armour will always have him come out on top.
The last arc did give his fans some hope in his new power and character arc.
True but that development will be short lived before Goku one-ups him again, I’d love nothing more than Vegeta to FINALLY get a solo win against a villain like he should have done in the ROF arc.
But he’ll always be in Goku’s shadow sadly, that’s just how things are in this series.
Vegeta gets new abilities, but Angel Merus says "Goku will be unbeatable with Ultra Instinct." Vegeta fans care of nothing else other than Vegeta surpassing Goku in this particular story, and Toriyama strings Vegeta fans along carrying them for a ride of false hope! We know that Vegeta may surpass Goku for 5 minutes. Then Goku will get kicked in the balls, then unlock Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct 4 for no damn reason making Vegeta look like a joke! This happened every time!
Vegeta puts alot of effort into training, but Goku is naturally just "given" power ups to stay ahead.
Vegeta: At last! I am stronger than Kakarot!
Goku: Hey Vegeta! I unlocked Ultra Primal Instinct.
Vegeta: Are you kidding me?

goku is going to turn something like an angel
I really hope you are correct. That would be awesome. I've wanted Goku and Vegeta to be unique for a while now.
An angel, a Kai and a God of Destruction walk in a bar...

In the extended version of the manga ending Toriyama made for the Kanzenban release Vegeta mentions that he STILL hasn't surpassed Goku, so Goku's still number 1 after anything that might happen in these 10 years that the DBS manga is milking so much.
The purpose of Vegeta's character seems to revolve around chasing Goku the same way *Amy Rose* chases *Sonic.* If Amy Rose gets Sonic, that would ruin the point of the character. If Vegeta surpasses Goku for an extended period of time, there goes his purpose. Vegeta is written in a loop just like Amy Rose
But that is the good part, what happens to the character after they achieve their goal? Where do they go from there?
That is part of how characters develop, moving from one goal to another.
@@samuelcalegnan1674 In the DBZ Manga, the updated Kanzenben release, Toriyama wrote Vegeta saying "he has yet to catch up with Goku" at the End of Z. So we know that after the timeskip, Goku is ahead. There was no further development. Goku remains ahead by a large margin and looks to Uub

It really doesn't matter. I rather see them work together be the strongest duo than compete to be the strongest.
The teamwork angle? As in they bounce off one another? Interesting.
Again, not to prove anything, but to find greater meaning
"I'll surpass Kakarot in my own way" that although sounds like character regression.
They exist to help others achieve spiritual enlightenment (i.e Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, Android's, Buu etc)
As for the recent developments with Beerus and Vegeta :
He wants Vegeta to embrace his saiyan biology and love of Destruction, which is something that gods of Destruction And Saiyans have always had in common.
It makes sense, since Vegeta has strayed away from his saiyan inclinations, as early as the Buu arc. We have seen the "earthling" side of him, have more influence on him than anything else, again based on Goku's buddha nature.
Vegeta is still lost on the path of strength
Beerus is referring to all the earthling baggage that has invaded vegetas character.
He’ll probably be stronger than Goku for only an hour, then Goku will surpass him. That’s how it usually works.
I was personally hoping that Vegeta starts diverging from Goku by learning a bunch of other techniques.
Finally someone who gets it instead of Geekdom saying Vegeta is "just gonna learn hakai"
Yoo.. what if vegeta ends up turning into a purple cat....
Awesome content as always maseko 👌
I was pondering a what If which I've never seen anyone do and thought would be interesting- When kami and piccolo re unite make kami the host for the fusion for 2 reasons. 1) with the guardian of earth still there no loss of dragonballs 2) kami has the originally body as junior is an offspring of piccolo daimao so a case could be argued although kami is old and weaker than current piccolo he has the "original" body and could make the fusion much stronger
Vegeta: *FINALLY, I’M ACTUALLY STRONGER THAN KAKAROT AND HIS DAMN ULTRA INSTINCT!*
Goku: Toriyama-dad?!
Toriyama: I gotchu
I hope he gets stronger or atleast stays on par with Goku and that's how they end up
let's face it, he's never going to surpass goku for more then a brief stint. especially when goku finds a form stronger than ultra instinct or stronger than a GoD.
I like how Masako's voice is just Abridged Goku Black
I loved in the manga when the G.O.Ds fought before the T O P and Beerus should he was the best
It's funny that any being can get god powers just from being guardian of a random planet. Makes more sense that Garlic Jr & his Dad wanted the job so badly
It seems like if a new universe gets created we'd have a brand new set of gods. Vegeta as the G.O.D., Goku as the new Angel, and probably Piccolo as their Supreme Kai.
goku will never be in angel as goku lvoes to fight angle cant join ot fight that not who goku is
At least Piccolo knows the folly of trying to catch up to a saiyan
If goku's ultra instinct is meant to separate himself from his conscious mind and yet he still spared morrow it means simply put that that instinct that he has is subconscious as well... which is a real problem imo
I like the route there going for with Goku’s and Vegeta’s training with Goku going the angel route and Vegeta going the god of Destruction route.

Only with the Great Ape form, would like to see Vegeta beat him evenly
Vegeta still says Goku beat him during the Saiyan Saga so that means Vegeta remembers it as Goku beating him
@@Alicia_Tomoko_5x Well actually Gohan beat Vegeta in his great ape form.
It does matter because it is a new development to the Vegeta character and be interesting to see how he fights and reacts to others with this path, especially with Goku who somewhat is the same guy through the whole story (in attitude but not necessarily principals as they've changed through Z as well)
However when it comes to physical power it won't because Goku's whole thing is to break his limits every time, always going to where no one has been, and if they did then leave a big mark on it to make it his own
How did we not see this coming
Trunks trained with Shin
Gohan trained with Elder Kai

Would you rather Vegeta be the Princess Peach of Dragon Ball?
Quick answer: no it’s not too late, if anything now is the perfect time to have Vegeta out grow Goku .
Am I crazy for hoping that Vegeta rejects the power of a GoD and instead reaches that level on his own terms?
Whis to Goku: Clear you mind, master the ultra instinct
Beerus to Vegeta: Focus your hatred for the power to DESTROY!
Love yor videos specially about Vegeta
This is way deeper than I expected! Still, I can't help but think Beerus won't be entirely helpful. In some cases, Vegeta's awareness plays key roles, particularly his newfound 'kindness' and mercy especially regarding his past. If you throw an uncaring Vegeta and vengeful Granolah together, his new technique would only be stirring the pot.
Yeah Vegeta will get stronger then Immediately after Goku will learn "Omega Instincts" which will be a form only the grand-priest is suppose to know. I'm calling it now

@@Alicia_Tomoko_5x yeah I feel if DragonBall doesn't start doing more character driving arcs people are going to lose interest.
@@Anukinihun makes sense

I wonder if it’s possible to learn Zeno deleting power (I do not think he destroys anything, it’s more like deleting something on your phone or computer.), comparing it to the hakai is like comparing instantaneous movement, too instant transmission (no matter how much you train with it, it will never be as good, but if the user is smarter, and/or more experience, they could beat the user of the more advanced technique.
masako is forgetting that berus is a bad example of a god of destruction as suggested by universe 7's low mortal level.
its nice to see Vegeta getting the spotlight and a new transformation for awhile, especially since Goku has gotten dull and repetitive over the years, sadly if history has proven anything this will only be temporary and sooner or later Toriyama will find some way for Goku to surpass and leave Vegeta in the dust once again
That’s my secret, Kakarot. I’m always angry.
You think I didn't notice that tfs reference of vegeta wanting to be super saiyan...😉
When?

Not gonna lie, that purple hair looks sick 🔥
Forgot to mention in my last comment, this is a little weak for a retcon. Beerus acts like UI is a joke for people like him, but is also known for having an Instinct technique and altogether involved with UI.
Mr. Popo: DId someone say Pecking order?
