- What's up Folks!?!? Another BANGER in the books! I met one of my favorite subscribers and now homie Torrick down on Stubbs off Lake Conroe where we were able to get on some really nice pre-spawn crappie. As always, we had a blast, and had a nice visit with the Texas Game Wardens who finally checked my fish! I wasn't shy with telling them to look in the box, as yall know I'm usually only putting slabs in the box and letting those little fish swim another day.

These dudes are friendly af, I’ve seen way too many videos grown ass men crying when someone gets close to their spot and starts catching fish etc. bruh is just shooting the breeze and having a good time bringing them in the boat. Damn, I love that. Also fish and game is doing their job. Keep people legit and honest… people act like they’re out to harass etc… gotta remember we don’t have the population like we did a couple hundred years ago… if everyone went out and over hunted then where would we be? I remember trolling with my dad as a kid on Lake Conroe. We caught so many stripers! Nice relaxing lake.

Lol I don’t have a problem with the game wardens, they’re just doing their job. And I definitely keep everything up to par and don’t keep questionable fish to avoid any issues.

@@fishingbythenumbers Thank you Sir. It is funny that I ran across your channel as I have been wondering how one of those 360 cameras would work. Was thinking it might be easier than the 3 cameras that I am dealing with now. Really hard to edit. I appreciate the kind words my friend.
They’re cool to have but there are a few drawbacks. It doesn’t record 360 in 4k, so the footage is only captured in 1080p, and for editing you have to select the portion of the 360° that want for each frame. So all the camera movements that you see in my videos is something that I’m setting when editing. It takes a while to produce the final product, but it is nice to have vs multiple cameras. I can walk you through it one day if you want, just let me know!

I'm the same with the game wardens. I buy my licenses and measure my fish. I seldom catch a limit so that's no concern. After all that effort I feel like someone needs to be checking.

Controlling that kayak is pretty challenging too sometimes, but when the wind is minimal like it was that day, it’s a lot easier to stay on a spot or a roaming fish! Preciate ya brotha!

Those live scopes are really nice but I think it takes the chase out of fishing. I love to fish and hunt it’s just not the same with a live scope
Definitely doesn’t take the chase out, it enhances the chase just like game cameras and infrared scopes enhance hunting. You still have to hunt them down using side imaging and down imaging, but you can pinpoint them with the livescope…. Have you ever tried it independently? It will humble you at first, and it takes quite a bit of time to figure out and perfect. Beats staring at a bobber or dropping down hoping a fish hits your jig. You can know if they’re home or not and also willing to eat or not! Trust me, it’s still a chase and just as fun!

What are your thoughts on the mercury level in them? I used to fish in East TX near Toledo Bend. There were a lot of slab crappie, but they were full of Mercury .
I’m typically not too concerned about mercury levels in crappie since the ppm is usually lower and they contain far less fatty tissue where that and PCBs would be stored. I’m more concerned with other contaminants like PCBs and dioxins. I monitor consumption advisories for all bodies of water that I fish, and I hardly ever see crappie on any advisory list for the reasons I mentioned. But if I ever see them on one, I likely would be throwing them back! Great question, and that’s certainly something we should all be watching for!

Yep, ive noticed that to be the case especially on an open lake, but when im near or under trees on creeks, it doesn’t function that well even with the wind and current… probably a triple whammy this day since there was little wind, light current and tall trees all around

I agree, to each their own! But using that fish finder takes a lot of skill that some people just can’t comprehend for one reason or another.
Hey, what kind of trolling motor do you have there? I've got one, but it's a small off brand. Looking to try to get a better one if possible. Did you have to modify it, to work. Appreciate you and your videos.
My kayak came with a minn kota 45lb thrust trolling motor but it’s not mechanically sound and I’ve been going back and forth with Johnson Outdoors on a warranty claim for over 2 weeks now. The other one on the back of my kayak is a Torqeedo 1.5hp motor that works really well. No modifications made to either motor. Minn Kota is a good brand, whoever designed the one for the Old Town AP just did a bad job with some of the components.

No sir, they come to enforce the laws and regulations, which I always abide by. And I do have friends in various types of law enforcement, their job doesn’t bother me one bit. Do the right thing, and you’ll be good. Don’t, and you’ll get a ticket…

What is the limit on Crappie & is each species separate or the all count as the limit & species doesn’t matter? Thanks
You can only keep 25 crappie comprised of a mix of the black and white subspecies. They all count toward that limit which is a good thing down here since so many people target them! 50 filets is a lot if you ask me lol! Thanks!
What ACC is that? Do you use a casting reel with a spinning rod?
It’s the 8ft spinning rod that’s been modified. The two lower eyelets were replaced with smaller ones to convert for the bait caster. Love the feel of that low profile reel, helps give great dexterity since it’s comfortable in hand and easy on the wrist!

That’s a fair question that I’m not sure the govt even has an answer to. I just do my best to comply so my day doesn’t get ruined. Thankfully, every game warden I’ve encountered has been 1000% more chill than a standard cop. Every single one!
