Neil is totally right about Crazy Horse. One of the all-time greatest rock and roll bands, who deserve to be in the Hall of Fame as much as anyone else. I hope that it happens soon.
The same can be said about Little Feat/Lowell George as well... RRHOF is a joke...
@@misterjim4458 it is a joke. I believe that bands can get in real easy. I guess it has to be 25 years since your first album that went gold to even be mentioned in the voting room. Music today is not music. It’s producers making there talent successful they deserve the award not the artist. So it makes me wonder 25 years from now are we going to see todays bubblegum artist in the RRHOF. I still think the b52’s should of been in the fame way before the Foo fighters. I’m not knocking the Foo fighters. Just saying
@@jameswilford5923 The criterion is 25 years since your first label-released record, regardless of its commercial success.
Not in because they are a part time band. They get together occasionally and make an album and tour.
Here here!
Neil Young always telling it like it is. What you see is what you get. Never pretentious, always authentic.
actually it was rather vague
@@donofon101 ok, Neil Young being honest about how he felt.
He is completely pretentious
yep, neil is awesome
@@douglasfernandez7737 he’s a pretentious boomer. I said what I said.
Neil's always real. Gets a bit self-absorbed sometimes and has his own ways of doing things that might piss the odd person off but at least he's honest with it! He's spot on about Crazy Horse as well!
@@donofon101 I got about half way through and left it
@@psychedelicbadger4092 left what?
"A bit" . . ? Funny. Cheers!
Neill is his own person. I love that he is so unique and has interests outside of music.
“It doesn’t mean that much to me/to mean that much to you”-that one line answers a lot of questions about Neil
“Take a look at my life”
I finally saw Neil Young at Oldchella a few years ago. It was in October and as he sang Harvest Moon the actual harvest full moon rose up over behind the stage. It was pure magic! His band is so freaking tight. They made love to my heart and soul.
That was an outstanding musical weekend! Neil's set was pure magic! And he was opening up for Paul McCartney that night! Wow!!!
His band for that was Promise of the Real - led by Willie Nelson's son, Lukas.
Haha, he sold out to the industry. Tickets to his shows started at $175 in Austin. No flipping way!
Well said 👌🏻
I'm happy for u 😊
amazing....a rare moment feeling Neils love, Heartfelt
"Why isn't Crazy Horse in the Hall of Fame?" Wow, talk about love for his band.
Loyalty going both ways. They'd been with him throughout his solo career
The hall of fame doesn't mean chit for the real talented

"where's crazy horse? that's rock n roll" a truer statement about the rnrhof has never been uttered.......
“After the Gold Rush” is the most beautiful song of the 1970’s. Pure poetry.
“Thinking about what a friend had said I was hoping it was a lie.”
You havnt listened to Cat Stevens or Art Garfunkel
@@user-xt8ij4wb5i neither hold a candle to neil young
Neil Young. Big Time Rock N Roller.
Could reasonably be considered the ALBUM of the 70's, along with Blood On The Tracks.
Howard, you're a great interviewer.. Both you and Neil are unicorns
He was chasing the feeling of how we listeners felt with all of those masterpieces.
I remember a magazine feature years ago titled "Don't mess with Neil Young ." To hear him explain why he does the things he does, you see why that statement is so true.
"Floating Satellite"
Now that is way more than excellent..!
The death of rock and roll
was the birth of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I wish Neil was my cool uncle that I could hang with, and learn so much about life. He'd be a great teacher, and probably is to those close to him. A genius he is.
Feel so blessed to have seen him in New Zealand in the 80s amazing song writer and human being. Love the new album arrived this week on vinyl.
totally agree with mate 👍 fantastic new album and a fantastic human being 👌👌
Thanks for telling me about his new album. I didn't even know about that.
For Uncle Neil, the music always comes first. That direction supercedes everything else. He means well, he loves his former band members - an entirely different thing from his career. And Neil is Perennial.
Neil Young is a true artist. Art comes first last and always.
Only one artist gets his name prefaced with, uncle; and that's Uncle Ted¡☆! 😮
De ja Vu was their best, csn and YOUNG. Just one fans opinion.
Neil looks great.
What a career, what a talent, what a positive force.
absolutely outstanding performer!
The Buffalo Springfield should have been huge. Young, Stills, and Furay were an amazing front line. What's-his-name on bass was good, too.
Neil’s music changed my life forever.
Neil was the best part of that group in my opinion.
Neil was the best solo artist, yes... but in the CSNY group I wouldn't underestimate the others... Stills in particular.
I saw Neil in 2009 and he blew my mind. To see an all tme legend focused on the music so purely was almost life changing.
Deja vu one of my favorite albums!
He's just expressing his Canadasims! And we have a lot!!

Just wonderful ..wonderful
Lots of respect to Neil Young. He's always marched to the Beat Of His Own Drum, not some bands drum, or any record execs drum...
This note's for you !
Neil really did not need CSN because his music was great on its own!
NY could not stand David Crosby. That seems to be quite a common thing.
CS &N needed Young WAY MORE than he needed them- and they admit it, too.
Saw Neil and The Bluenotes perform in the Monarch Room of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
BEST concert of my life!
Saw them at the world ballroom in NYC. 10 men working!
I know what he means when he talking about taking music and love to where it will flourish. You can only be true to music and love, if you are true to yourself.
Everything he just said was totally sincere
A true creative musical genius explains what it really means. End of story. 👍👌✊
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Give'm Hell Neil... Rock & Roll ain't money, it's chill-bumps !
And yet money got him on records and radio for us all to EXPERIENCE his greatness.
Greed is the monster not money.
And yet he helped other musicians become multi millionaires

Absolute legend
God Bless You, Neil.
Damn Neil I love hearing you talk 👍👍
I wish he’d done Monterey. I was there and loved it. Monterey was the first Pop Festival. There hadn’t been any “ big shows” before that.
Neil Young got in as a solo artist first, before Buffalo Springfield was inducted.
Very cool about CSandN..they're the core and they're all great! Cool Neil, so are you!
If Neil wants to get into the RR hall of fame a sizeable contribution to Bnai Brith on Jan Wenners behalf should take care of things.
Freaking Foo Fighters get in because McCartney pitched it… lots of other bands deserve some love as well…

He did play with the boys at Woodstock for a few songs. It wasn't in the original Woodstock documentary film.

Damn Neil going off
The map in the background doesn't show Nunavut - it still shows it as part of North West Territories.
Very true. And very un-Neil Young.
Very astute signalling from Neil to his truest fans whom he spoke to and for in this interview. He had a a kind of waning relevance that ended altogether with the territorial name change.

He came late & left early from a super group that lasted only slightly longer than Blind Faith. Godfather to grunge & emo.

Neil Young is my all time musician. Even before The Beatles
He is the greatest of all time
Go the Monterey festival... then afterwards, play to your expanded fan base.
This the first interview I've seen him in. I'm 55 ffs.
Neil and Steve were the "songsmiths" Graham and David were harmony vocalists. IMO.

Not as crazy as l thought. The music and fans is all that matters when performing.
