Just saw them in Atlanta. You can tell the boys are revitalized and are not going anywhere anytime soon. As my favorite band, I can’t be thankful enough! Also, they still sound the exact same live 🤘🏻
Living in Poland and hearing them for the first time in 2004 was mindblowing. Been loving them since, just a few months ago went for my 6th their gig. Thinking about that makes me cry, how much we grow up. I was just a kid, now I'm in my thirties. And yes, I greatly remember Gonzo show hosted by Zane. What a world. What a life. The power of music. Love.
I love this band so much. I’d dare to say it’s about a perfect of a discography as can be. The evolution and sophistication of their sound is incredible
One of my absolute favorite bands in the world. I jumped on at Because of the Times and have been with them since. They've been a huge soundtrack to my life and I love that they're going to keep making music and I love the fire they still have. They seem so much happier than they ever have, because there was a time I thought Come Around Sundown was going to be their last album (Perfect 10/10 album btw). These guys have gotten me through so much and I can't wait to keep growing with them!
I tell ya.. it’s just so great to see this version of Caleb. He’s so open and enlightened. I’m so happy for him. And we all miss their Mom, Betty Ann. She was really so wonderful to all the KOL fans. May she rest in peace ❤
I was 16 when i discovered you, now im 36. So many years.. so you guys, after all these years, feel to me like a family. And ur music is like a family. It heals, it gives happiness and joy and that cozy feeling of home.
The last part of the interview almost gave me chills. Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon are by far my favorite artists as well as the best two concerts I’ve ever seen and M television has been my favorite song of the new album. To top it off, I met them at an album signing while wearing a Zach Bryan tee shirt.
Listening to Caleb @ 45:14 makes me remember about Elizabeth Gilbert’s book Big Magic ✨ the concept that ideas are alive and have a conscious will, that they seek the most available human collaborator, and that they will always try to seek the swiftest and most efficient conduit to the earth. Love this
Absolutely 💯 agree, he’s not the first person to say this but I’m so glad he shared it yet again. I will keep an eye out for this author and thanks. Spirituality is real. We should all seize the moment 🤩
This interview was incredible. KOL is one of the greatest band of all time in my opinion. Also Zane is the best interviewer in the music industry. God bless
I saw kol in Forest Hills and then immediately purchased a ticket for Boston. It was their last show of that tour and it filled me up in such a magical way. All by myself, I was proud, touched, emotional and inspired. Thank you Zane for this incredible piece. Long Live KOL
Interesting what Jared says about his bass lines from “pickup truck” to “where you see yourself” because “pickup truck” is one of my favorite bass lines in their catalog. Jared is the reason I play bass.
Just saw y'all in Austin! Loved this album , so cool seeing and hearing them in this interview! Caleb is so right, this album hits! Top to bottom. Knocked up is my all time favorite song. Come around sundown fav album!! Love you KOL been my favorite band for 20years !! Shine on ✨
Absolutely wonderful interview this. Bless you Zane and thank you for being so open and honest with the Kings. Truly a magnificent piece. Great work that deserves so much respect. All the band being so candid and thoughtful for us has me filled with utter joy and gratitude. 🙏🏻 Absolutely outstanding this 🤩🙌🏻❤️
I Was almost barricade in arizona in august and the energy was so crazy i felt the love ive had for u since i was 6 to being 24 now and the love u guys had back for us! thank u from the bottom of my heart, crying watching this interview at how proud i am to be a fan! (and thank u for catching the kisses i blew u caleb)
My favorite band of all time! I liked WYSYS better than CWPHF but I enjoy every album they put out. I’ve been a fan for over a decade and they’re a big part of my life and story. It’s like over grown up with them. Side Note: M Television is a masterpiece
Ha, he is the cousin and the others are brothers! (I am kidding that is not why, it is just funny that the cousin is the one getting picked on) Love them so much.
Really good to see the band in a great place. I think I'm one of the few that didn't really appreciate the album. They're talking a lot about creativity but as a collection of songs I thought they sounded tame and contained. I think a lot of it has to do with hiring a corporate producer.
Keep it in rotation. It's a grower, but it's locked in for my car the past few months. Fantastic album that grew on me while driving along with the Walls LP.
That album is an unheraleed masterpiece right next to Walls. These guys are easily America's best band. They have no equals in the past decade or so. Crying shame that the current music business model undercuts what they are striving towards.
It's a better record than the last two. The live show is better, but they still are not comfortable and may never really get there on stage. I don't think the new record is near as good as Mechanical Bull, which will probably go down as the last great KOL record. Been riding with these guys since 06 or so, hoping for better days are ahead. There hopefully has been a real rebirth, and hopefully there is a complete desire to be as good as they can be, including live, that will shine through the mid to late 20s. Tonight is the best song on the very fine Bull. It's truly timeless. Glad to see the lightbulb went on. It happens, just ask Pearl Jam. Can't wait to hear Tonight on future tours.
What Jared said about not writing bass lines from Pick Up Truck to the current record says a lot more about the songs during that era than anyone at that table realized
Jeez can we get an interview focused on the music? The setlist? The songs for the city? Enough with this profound, psychiatrist angle in these interview.
Just saw them in Atlanta. You can tell the boys are revitalized and are not going anywhere anytime soon. As my favorite band, I can’t be thankful enough! Also, they still sound the exact same live 🤘🏻
Can We Please Have Fun is one of my favourite albums ever. A completely underrated masterpiece
Magnificent album isn't it, it came out on the same day as Poetry by Dehd, and both are my favourite albums of the year
Such a good album
!!!
Let's not go nuts. It's OK, masterpiece is pushing it. A few great moments. And yes I am a big fan
Really??? Wow I’ll check it out. I saw Kings open for Pearl Jam in West Palm in 2008…. One year or less before they blew the hinges off the doors

Always enjoyed the story behind Kings of Leon ever since watching Talihina Sky years back.
I love this band so much. I’d dare to say it’s about a perfect of a discography as can be. The evolution and sophistication of their sound is incredible
I can't rave enough about Seen and M Television. Seen puts me in a trance for 5 minutes and M Television is a pure serotonin rush.
MT is one of my favs

Loving this humbler, self-aware Caleb.
Dude these guys put on a show
Lifelong fan. Their last record is spectacular. Probably top 3 in their discography imo.
Saw them in LA again and MAN they’re so rejuvenated they played awesome
best tour in years
they are incredible live!!
they help me through heartache with Closer, Over, Conversation Piece, 100,000 People, and so much more

Boomer Sooner buddies!
I love kings of Leon
Why are they all anti- Matt? He’s the best! Justice for Matty! This was a great interview, they’re in their renaissance era 💛
Ha, he is the cousin and the others are brothers! (I am kidding that is not why, it is just funny that the cousin is the one getting picked on) Love them so much.
He is so underrated as a guitarist I can't stand it. What exciting sounds he makes!

Best concert ever waaaay back in the day at The Forumn in LA.
It's been a previlige watch them grow musically over the years ❤
Best KOL interview ever!
27:54 Good job, buddy 😂
3rd time seeing them & it was the best tour yet. So much fun!!
Tonight in Fort Worth was incredible to witness live!
Stellar interview! So many jewels in this!

He’s so underrated
The greatest guitarists are always unheralded. But we as fans and the band of course recognize his greatness.
i’ve been waiting for this
Love you guys- just saw you in Nashville 💓
Great interview! ❤
Great interview
Fantastic interview
16:25 that would've been awesome 😂😂
I would love to see Rick Beato interview these guys. That would be a fascinating musician focused rabbit hole.
They just came through Atlanta, doesn't look like it happened. But, he's not far from NSH.
Will they release the 'Seen" demo?!?
gonna take a proper listen to Mechanical Bull on shuffle after this. Long time fan but never vibed with that LP. Gonna try again

I wonder if Jared has since tried to rewrite or change up the bass lines on the first album, since he says he had no idea how to play at that point

Less meaning of life more about the music please 😂

Your loss, honestly. Bands evolve and cannot remain 23 years old infinitely.
