I had breast cancer and finished radiation December 2023. I made the decision not to take Tamoxifen, i did not like what the side effects would do to me. I will take my chances and live my best life, if i get 5 to 7 years then we will deal what comes. Im 65 and the side effects scared me i didnt want to be sleeping my life away. While my poor husband wants to do the things with me. My husband is my rock and he loves me too the moon as i him. I am a very happy person i feel good and i look good. So life is great❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

I have tried things like Mona Lisa touch laser treatment, and the O shot, but neither worked. I was diagnosed at age 42, and was on Tamoxiphen for the 5 years, and wish I had not taken it. I have been on it for a year, and although I am thankful that it decreases the probability of recurrence, I don't understand why is there no other option than Tamoxifen when the patients have hormone-positive BRCA? Why don't scientists try to develop other medicines with fewer side effects? Very frequently we hear developments related to cancer drugs and treatments but not related to hormone-positive BRCA, why is it so? I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy and joyful year.

Please Google Elyn Jacobs and tamoxifen before you start that. 🙏 Most women can't tolerate tamoxifen and it's a known carcinogen. She is a holistic health coach who had breast cancer herself. She has a wealth of information. I feel bad for women who are feared into making rash decisions because they're scared. The cancer world is good at laying the fear on thick. Do you're own research... please. Radiation and chemo do not kill cancer stem cells. These cells break away from the primary tumor and circulate in your blood. These are the soldiers that the cancer tumors recruite. I've learned a lot but not from conventional doctors. Best wishes to you.

Hi..I live in BC Canada so I'm not sure if some medical names are the same as where you live. I have stage 4 lobular carcinoma, diagnosed in May 2022. In November 2022 I was having breathing problems but the regular CT with contrast and bone scans didn't show anything going on. Finally, in February 2023, the oncologist sent me for a special scan of just my lungs. It showed a bunch of small blood clots in my right lung. Actually, before the breathing issues, my legs and feet were swelling up a lot for a few months. I had an ultrasound and a scan on my legs. No clots were seen. At the beginning of my diagnosis, I had 5 treatments of radiation and 9 treatments of paclitaxel and Letrozole once a day. When in the hospital for the blood clots the doctor took me off letrozole thinking that could be one of the causes of the clots. Now the doctor says I'm protected from blood clots since I'm taking a blood thinner every day and wants me to take tamoxifen. I haven't started taking it yet because I'm scared to. What is your opinion? Do you think it's safe to take once you've had a blood clot diagnosis. Thank you in advance for taking the time yo answer me.

Some women do gain weight as a consequence of the menopause changing your metabolism. I did and I was fit and active. Things that can help are eating more protein - 30-40g per meal and having less carbs with your evening meal, and adding in weight training as muscle burns more calories

But the Radiologist still insisted me of having the radio treatment 45GY for 3 weeks. Now the oncologist insisted me of taking Tomexifen for 5 years. But I was diagnosed with thickened uterus lining to 11.9 mm 3 years ago when I was going through the premanopause, along with some abnormal growth. Even though now my oncologist ordered another ultrasound and it shows my ovaries are unseen and the uterus is 2 mm, but I suspect myself being overtreated, because all of the radio treatment and the Tomexifen itself would also cause cancer. I don't want to take the medicine. What's your input please?

Could I ask, when you say tamoxifen can reduce likelihood of return of cancer by 50%, what do you mean by this figure? Is it for example that say 2 in 100 get a recurrence taking tamoxifen, and 4 in 100 get a recurrence without it (implying a 50% decrease) or do you mean that it will prevent 1 in 2 people getting a recurrence? Please note I am using theoretical numbers here.

If it's not one thing, it's the other😢. 15 months on Tam and no side effects that I can pin point. My cycle stopped as a result of chemo (love it). And I presume, did not resume due to Tam? I hope menopause is in full affect, but will Tam be replaced with another med if this is the case? I am doing well on it and I hope I won't have to change medication.
    Thank you for the info!

I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years, wish I'd been on it longer now although did have a womb cancer scare. I had a recurrence 3 years after I stopped it. Stage 4, 4 years after my recurrence in lungs. Started Letrozole plus Palbociclib and 10 months later couldn't be seen on my ct scan. I refused a hormone blocker after my recurrence due to osteoarthritis. Thank you for this information and interesting about supplements, I do swear by turmeric though as it keeps me off painkillers

Thank you for this information. As much as I can’t stand Tamoxifen I am very afraid to stop it later. I have this bad feeling that these anti estrogen therapies only suppress the cancer, and can’t kill it. I would hate to take estrogen blockers (or AIs) for life but I really like to BE ALIVE. What a dilemma. Best of luck and good health to you Celia.

Hey doc can you explain why you recommend fruits and veggie for cancer when you know that the body will turn that all into sugar and that sugar will go directly to feeding and spreading the cancer? I hear Oncology is having major success with curing cancer using the Carnivore/fasting protocols. I know that's not the name they call it, but that what it is. Also if I remember right there is 3 types of estrogen in the body. The one your referring to is caused by excess amounts of carbs that the body can't clear properly cuz the body has to many toxins to deal with so it stores it. I think if people stopped putting the sugar, the carbs, the junk foods, over processed food, and yes fruits and veggie, in their mouths they would find they do much better. Also can you point me to the research paper that proves eating veggie and fruits is better to eat. I've been looking but still not found any meaningful research. I did find something where they asked people over years what they ate on Monday, June 5, 2022? But don't think that is very good science to rely on since it relied on people guessing what they ate. So I'd really like the research to read that your promoting to eat veggie and fruit to help with cancer/illness. Would be great to read how they preformed the research and what all the out comes are. My experience is veggie and fruit are a terrible source of nutrients, not to mention almost every single plant we eat from has over 100 carcinogens in what we eating. Why is it safe to eat carcinogens but not okay to inhale them? People get a lot more carcinogens eating the veggies then if they inhaled, considering the amount of veggies people consume. Another person just trying to weed my way through the research to get healthy!

Some doctors are using it but the jury is out as to whether it stops people dying from breast cancer, instead of stopping them getting a primary invasive cancer. And the considerable side effects may outweigh any benefits

Dear Liz, if you are taking tamoxifen plus a quarterly injection of a human gonadotropin analog, should you anyway use a contraceptive method? I don’t get my period after the chemo and now with the endocrine therapy and I wonder, whether I must use contraception.
Thanks so much for this videos. I wish, you recover soon. All the best ❤

If you ovaries have been switched off then it should be OK but if you stop the injections then you need to use contracpetion. Your periods can stop on Tam but you can still get pregnant and tamoxifen damages a growing foetus

thank you for the information, but I highly question why turmeric would interfere with tamoxifen? turmeric is a natural antiinflammatory for the body, and one of the causes of cancer is the inflammation of the body. So, not taking turmeric is saying not helping the body to cure from inflammation and therefore not prevent cancer :/

I threw that shit in the garbage and never looked back. I'm still here 8 years later. I've been having success with diet and lifestyle change. 😌 I credit my 3 tablespoons of freshly ground flaxseed everyday for keeping me in remission. I truly believe food is medicine. I personally think the cancer world is nuts, and I declined almost everything they wanted me to do other than surgery.... which managed to ruin my life. Sorry I did it. Over a century of research and were still torturing people using the cut, slash, burn techniques lol... I'm flabbergasted. I'm grateful I refused most of their bullshit. It's bad enough they mutalated me.

Yes healthy lifestyle including diet. Sorry Dr Liz, you are not qualified to make any recommendations of health. That is not what you are trained to do. Vitamin D deficiency is a huge problem, even with breast cancer risk. Eating more vegetables and fruits will not get you vitamin d. You don’t realize that you are giving bad advice to people and can have serious negative effects. Please do some in depth studies before making such a dangerous health advice.
