I think this must be a 2019 m550. He staid stock it getting like 480 hp, but stock 2020 m550 is 523hp. This must be pre LCI model.

Very easy, similar process as uploading the map. BMW can very likely detect that it has been flashed though even if reverted.

Wouldn’t do it in the first place. Newer cars have flash counters. So you can bring it back but if the flash counter says the wrong number it’s over. A boost controller would work better but takes WAY more research

I don’t believe the F series 550 had a DCT. I’m pretty sure it was just the M5 of that generation

Only M5’s had that issue. 50i guys kinda lucked out getting ZF 8 speeds. This car is no different. ZF 8 speed takes mountains of torque
Yeah so I owe a 2019 m550i xdrive and I have it right at 600HP because the transmission is weak for that much torque but 600 HP is good for me

You’re only jumping up 60hp….. yes it’s safe at that level! Put a stage 2 tune, downpipes, and intakes on that thing and you’ll be around 600hp safely!
How much whp would it make without the downpipe or intake ? Maybe 20 less max ?

Word. I like the 640AWHP number but I’d back it off to 610 tops, on 93 anyway. Save anything above that for E mixes

@@damians8498 nice!! You got a 200mph 5 seat rocket‼️ I have a F10 LCI myself. Just finally switched to the M style intake, bc the original ARM intakes were choking my engine on kick downs. Now I can pull as hard as I’d like from any gear, at any speed.
Next up is an X5 M big brake kit conversion for the 395mm rotors. Then if I’m lucky, Heatsync turbos in the fall. Fingers crossed.

Depends on the manufacture date. I believe cars made after June of 2020 are locked. Look it up to confirm tho

If I’m not mistaken, the G30 LCI is locked. But the 2020 Pre-LCI M550i has the same exact motor (523hp 553torque) as the LCI. As seen in this video, ECU isn’t locked for the 2020 M550i.

Subaru wrx sti were running 138hp per liter 22 years ago stock. 170hp/L in a BMW in 2021 is fine, with a proper supported tune.

CLS takes it up top. Tuned CLS63s can run with Tuned F90s off sheer torque alone

641 AWHP on 93 octane, your intake and your DPs? What can you make on an E85 blend?
Not too much more limiting factor would be maxing the turbos which is around 750hp. At that point I would go pureturbo stage 1 or 2. I have a 2021 model
@@chriswhitaker9720 would be beneficial to go full flex fuel so you can go back and fourth and run full e85. E85 allows you to get more aggressive with tuning but also helps keep things cooler. Not even to run more power persey just to be safer

Apparently the 2020 G30 pre-LCI introduced the engine seen in this video (523hp 553torque). The 2018-19 G30 (456hp 480torque) have a setup more similar to the F10 550i (445hp 480 torque).

@@kelvinhamiltonarchitecture1921 basically you can get those numbers with a 2018, but it’ll definitely require more than just intakes, downpipes, and a 93 tune as opposed to a 2020 wit the updated motor.
If you do what they did in this video on a 2018, you’ll probably get like 580-590AWHP and 600ish AWT

@@AYO_KO I have a F10 that makes 620whp on just E30 with a downpipe. I imagine the earlier G30s with the introduction of twin scrolls (Tu2) cars have similar shelf’s as they tend to make similar power to the TU1 despite the difference, but I believe the numbers exhibited here are all theoretically possible on any N63 motor with minor mods if you consider a pure stage 1 being minor as this is a hot-Vee engine (with turbos on the top) would result in turbos that flow more air than even this N63R, but also the F10 M5 stock turbos, which is nice because the blocks between S63Tu & N63Tu are similar and share the same rods, which means even 700whp is possible as well.

From what iv seen, Cars are Dyno tested in their 1:1 gear ratio. Just look up the M550i gear ratios and look for the 1:1 gear.

Ohhhh so the 2020 G30 pre LCI has the 523hp 553 torque motor?? Oh okay this makes so much more sense now. I thought the 2021 LCI introduced this motor. But I guess this happened back when people complained that the 2018-19 M550i wasn’t was enough.
I guess they do have the N63TU3 engine but not 523hp on them yet. Only after LCI BMW boosted it up.

I’m scared even with a 2019... Would love to turn it up but these N63 motors worry me in stock form after reading and hearing about other owners complaining of high heat temps and seals shrinking. And worse...
While none of us are sure as to the long term reliability of the 2018/19 N63 motors, I just Can’t imagine turning the power up on it and expecting it to last.

@@ZhmiKnopa no worries, im not aware of anything that was changed internally. The rods are still a soft, and the hot V turbo setup will for sure negatively effect the engine reliability. Idk what bmw was thinking 😭

Yea but it’s a waist tbh. Especially if all the dealership needs to do is see if your parameters, like boost, are out of spec to flag you and revoke warranty work. The flash counter isn’t even a factor at this point.

Doesnt matter, do what I do. Aftermarket private warranty company......... Its only $900/year for 100% power train and drive train and rear end coverage with a $50.00 Deductible. Every single part is covered and all labor. Plus A/C, steering, brakes, and a bunch of other items that are fully covered. THEN.....you choose a good European shop to do all the repair work. Doesn't matter what mods the car has, they just cut a check to the shop for the bill. Your car just needs to be out of factory warranty coverage.

They will already have a good relationship with a company that NEVER sends someone out to look the car over first.

You wouldn’t have been able to tune 2021 M550 or any bmw that’s 2021 and up right now since the DME is locked. Only option is JB4 or have RK send your DME overseas for them to crack it which would be 4k and your car being down during the process

Just a FYI for you guys This tune can be done from a 2018 all the way up to a 2020 BMW m550 I don't know why this guy in the video makes it seems like this is only possible for the 2020 model. They share the same engine in everything.
2018-2019 has a n63tu2. 2020+ has a n63tu3. N63tu3 has bigger turbos and couple other difference. 2020+ should make about another 70whp mod for mod vs 2018 and 2019 m550i.
I wouldn’t tune it more then 60 hp to 100 hp to be safe the car original already got crazy 530 hp so another 60 or 100 is way more then you need and way more then a lot of expensive sport cars or sedan sport cars I don’t know where I read that if you add too much hp to the engine is a risk of ruining it not sure I could be wrong but I believe read that for amg cla 45 Benz but also goes to any engine if you over do it maybe it’s not safe ? Or comes with cost ?
