Yep! Competing with yourself, when done right, will improve you infinitely. You are always better than you were before, and now you have to be better than what you already are.
100% truth. Some days i actually make it out of bed before 12 noon, some i make it out around 6pm. But when you're a student and able to learn on your own schedual, it can help to work or learn at night when everyone will STFU AND LET YOU PAY ATTENTION! Lol
1:51:00 I also think they should add the different stat page for mimic exclusively at the end of the game so you can see which ghosts the mimic did take but it may be too complicated to implement
@@aarepelaa1142were the tutorials that lacking or were they not that engaging? I never played the game nor seen the tutorial level, but hopefully the devs achieved their goals with the rework.
EMF starts beeping at 21:08 for no good reason, he was distracted and never saw it, but emf 2 marks a teleporting hability, he could have deduced Wraith there.
Before I found this channel, I thought that turning on the lights in any room would make the ghost a lot more angry and increase the chances of the hunt. I also thought that you could hide from ghosts only in lockers.
I agree, watching random phasmo games is always fun. the Pros doing those sick challenges and escapes of hunts, and the beginers being so scared and new to all the game mechanics and letting us see all the creepy feel the level and sound design can give to people. i have a friend who can't play more than 2 sets with me for how scared he gets. Also, I think what they are trying is mostly, give more ways to be useful to those who stay in truck. they are players of the game after all, hating a portion of the players is bad for the game.
Haha I used to be like your friend, terrified of doing anything in the same, at the first site of a ghost event I'd book it, take a guess and never step foot in again 😂 Over the past few weeks I decided to get back into playing the game, started off as I was years ago but recently playing with friends cracking a few jokes and having a laugh here and there really took away the super spook factor of this game. Not saying that as a bad thing but my god is more fun when playing with friends, I think solo, I'd very rarely do as much as I do now.
5:50 to answer your question: I love tier 1 dots and tier 1 ghost writing. No sarcasm at all. I find it fun to keep constant tabs on those things and when the ghost gives those evidences it’s super satisfying. Nothing better in the game than being stressed out about the ghost just to watch it write from the van and give you that final evidence. Same with dots.
The way he explained how him playing on insanity is like us playing for the first time is so true. I watch so much of his phasmo content, then I go play and get my butt kicked on amateur difficulty XD
I often see him state something like it's blindingly obvious and I can't see it or hear it even when I rewind the video to watch it again... :P But these videos have still taught me so much about how to use all the equipment correctly and some of the more obvious determinants between ghost behaviours, even if I can't tell the more subtle ones apart at all still.
I started playing phasmo 8 days ago, the hardest part was getting over how scary it was. I was constantly scared about when the ghost could hunt, but after that it was actually pretty easy, the tier 1 items weren't actually horrible for me (I also am now level 48 from doing camp ww start, I improve at games somewhat fast)
I picked up and got into Phasmo with the big update. Because I came in with the tier 1 items, I learned how to make the best of them, and it gives me an appreciation for the more advanced forms (in most cases). Some items, despite being janky, are preferable because of familiarity through accessibility. I'm still at the point where I'll only play Professional, because I'm still learning the ghosts. Not only through my own play, but through watching primarily you and other Phasmo players.
I remember when Phasmo first came out there were so much troll info in search results about playing the game lol ‘To stop the hunt, throw a knife at the ghost’ ‘If you hold the crucifix the ghost can’t kill you’
I recently started and having watched you for almost 2 years has definitely helped a lot, like only after 3 hours of playing I’m playing a custom difficulty that’s kinda like nightmare ish in terms of hardness and rewards but it’s 3 evidence so 9/10 times I have all evidence before the first hunt
This is good. I’m doing the same strategy but letting the ghost doing a couple hunts after I know what it is so I can pick up on hunt behavior to eventually start doing harder challenges like no evidence etc
My hardest problem was probably the EMF or temprature, because i didnt know how to use the emf and the temprature was broken most of the time, like it woldnt move it was just sitting at 15 degrees celsius. I love watching you and you've made me much better at the game!
I haaaate how slow the tier 1 thermometer is. I kept throwing it into a cold room, and grabbing it later. It’s so agonizing to hold it and watch it go down, only for it to be 1°C
My friends and i just started playing this week and can confirm its mad hard we didnt even know until today you could place down the dots so we just had someone carrying it around the whole time looking for ghosts and we are like 1/20 on correct guesses with a 60% chance of dying atleast its fun though
Got back into Phasmo with the update. The atmosphere of Phasmo is unlike any other ghost hunting game. Tier 1 DOTS ‘pen’ is certainly the most frustrating. You have to stand in the dark while your sanity drops, hoping that the ghost will show up. I’m terrible at avoiding hunts and spotting the ghosts when they show up. I personally don’t see how you do it all the time because I’m like “what is he looking at?” especially when you crouch behind cars. I’m afraid it will sneak up from behind. I especially love the terrible trio content and the cries of anguish of CJ and Psycho when you do something that gets them killed 😂
To the question about people starting on this update. Yes it is extremely hard. I had no clue what to do, luckily i had friends that were somewhat experienced but they also put me immediatly on professional. However binge-watching your videos helped!!
As far as skill vs. luck, I completely agree with you. I actually did the whole spawn in, guess Spirit, leave strat the other day and it worked lol. My group quit playing for the night, but I was only 30 xp from a level-up, so I wanted to get it, so I did it solo and the RNG was benevolent lol.
I have restarted Phasmo about 1 week ago after more than 1 year not touching it. It felt both new and still familiar. I had first hard time guessing which ghost I was dealing with and eventually nailed it....until I met Le Mimic...twice in row.
2:07:40 - the last second on the camera, there was a ghost orb in the middle of the screen, that was sooooo unlucky bro, anyways, this was an awesome video
28:13 Obviously the Wraith was just hungry from teleporting, made a Sandwich and got angry because it realized they can't eat the Sandwich....so Hunt Time.
someone asked me yesterday why i like watching videos like this. main answer, to see things i never can in games i like. one instance, the deo. never get them in phas, not even during their release when they had an increased chance of showing up. not one single hunt has been them and its gotten to the point i dont even bother considering not to hide in a deadend spot.
20:00 In game design/game balancing we call this phenomenon an "incomparable". As the name suggests, it refers to a mechanic that has a relation to other mechanics that vary so much in functionality as to be incomparable. They can be very fun, but they are notoriously difficult to balance. (RPGs and MOBAs deal with this problem more than any other genre.) Whether or not this is a bad thing depends on the intended player experience from the developers. If you view Phasmo as a competitive game, it may make sense to implement changes that provide strict balance throughout the tiers. However, if you view Phasmo as a game about knowledge accumulation and finding interesting strategies to determine ghosts, these little differences can enrich the experience. This has been my Ted talk, thank you for reading.
honestly i bought phasmo like 5 days ago and i have been non stop watching ur vids im learning alot but not quite being able to implement what im seeing , about the dots... yeah me and my friend got the game together , we dont use them lmao cause they suck alot but sometimes we just guess or i open ur vids about no evedince and try to see from a hunt , basically one of us dies lmao , much love for u insym
My friend and I started playing about 3 days ago, we had tried this game out about a year ago and didn’t get into it but came back because we heard a lot about the update. The first time I attempted to hide but was found because I had my flashlight on.. this channel has really helped us but joining lobbies or playing with people that have better items in the beginning was very helpful
when i first played i got chills from the ghost hunts and the spookiness of it... now its just like whats up ghost let me lick your toes and damn you dont have toes... well then back to the truck we're out. idk kinda wish they had more spooky scary parts. i miss that.
I started day 2 of the update and have been watching your videos about it, they are a lot of help. I am playing with randoms online to also learn. Solo isn’t easy especially with mostly tier one items but it’s really fun.
for the twins in the ridgeway kitchen, the "DOTS" was breath. you can see it to the right of the patio window, and expanding before you spotted it. the hunt was not early, because insanity is 75, - 20 for 2 events is 55, plus being in the house for about 5 minutes, is about 7% loss with no lights. youd be under 50% sanity guarunteed.
when you were placing the dots around 35:15, if you want them to face you, just tap F you don't need to rotate, I'm pretty sure the dots pen always points at you when you quick tap the F key. You know since we were talking about speed running just a few minutes ago
I did start playing after the update, my main early experience was getting the ghost wrong many times due to the tier 1 equipment not picking up things very often, died a lot before I knew how to hide and the tier 1 flashlight was so shit, honestly I used the dots as a flashlight until, I got the tier 2.
Just wanted to say Hi. I'm a new player, started just as the new prestige update dropped. Been watching your videos almost exclusively. Even if they aren't always specifically for educational purposes I'm learning heaps about the game from them. Just awesome content really. I've been toying around with custom difficulty where I start at zero sanity, no start up time, and basically try to get the evidence with the highest chance to be hunted possible. 50/50 on the success rate lol. Gotta throw yourself in the uncomfortable zone if you're ever going to get better though. Dots is absolutely ridiculous though. I've spent ample time staring in a dark room not seeing anything. I check the stats post-game; I was in the ghost room the majority of the time, so was the ghost, never saw Dots and it was an evidence type. I've just kind of figured that some evidence is easier than others to collect in general. Temp/Writing is as simple as leaving them in the Ghost Room and checking them. UV is confirmable by checking interacted Doors. Dots is the worst though as it actively requires your attention and you just don't know how long to stare at it. I'm trying to use your knowledge around observing the Ghost, especially during hunts, to fill in the blanks. Faster/slower movement, flickering more/less frequently, object interactivity, etc etc. I actually think I'm pretty good for someone rolling around with Tier 1 items and 20 hours game time lol.
Just started about 4 days ago and got a Rev 3x in a row! Starting to get over the fear of hunts so I'm starting to make some progress finally. Just unlocked my tier 2 flashlight so now that I can SEE maybe I'll be less terrified lol
i just started phasmo but i play with my sister and friends who played before so they already kinda understood the game. but watching your videos and playing basically daily, ive learned a few ghosts behaviors and have caught some. but im level 26 right now, so ive done a decent bit. but overall, im enjoying the game even though i started on a massive update. we’ve got a lot of friends on and keep trolling the new ones with the cursed possessions
I'm a new player, I've seen the ghosty throw the notebook. i usually line it up with the corner of something and set dots right next the video cam. sometimes I'll see orbs but inconsistently so i know it's a mimic. I've only gotten dots like twice. if I need a hunt I'll hide in a closet and trigger a cursed hunt. not brave enough to loop. you and maggstor have been amazing
In most games, phasma included I find it's better when you're clueless to the inner workings of the game. The wonder and cluelessness as you figure things out and get better. Clumsily looking for the ghost and evidence, running around like a headless chicken when it hunts, rarely knowing if you're safe or not, all the crazy random stuff you say to trigger the ghost. The panic at every ghost event even just random auditory and visual ones that can't harm you. You don't get that when you see an event and can go "ah this event, I know that's just a visual or auditory event and it's not dangerous" Compared to freaking out over every interaction. When you know everything it becomes a little too efficient, maybe even a little repetitive. A lot of the perceived danger lessens during non lethal events You just run in find the cold room "are you here/french/near? touch something" spam down all the evidence and bonus objective equipment, get some pics and done Even when it hunts or events, you kind of already know if you're safe or dead, removing more of the panic. In plenty of cases memeing around like "get a pic of me with it kekw" still fun, but in a different way
50:00 I had a game the other day where we were on High School for 13 minutes and didn't hear anything. We decided to pack up and retry. It was a shade. It had done 2 interactions in 13 minutes. It touched one door and other thing. That's it.
Just come back to phasmo after a few years. The tiered items and new ghosts so confusing. Feel like a noob again. Forced into level 1 challenge and no access to items I used to use lol. Ah well time to relearn it all. I’m glad you’re still playing instantly checked your channel to refresh my memory and learn what’s changed.
I wonder if on this anniversary DK will be kind enough to share a piece of his time with few phasmo content creators to maybe share his plans and overall opinion on a current state of the game. Like the last year.
I started playing about a month before the update and got to level 4. I barely played, but I got relatively acquainted with the game. I was demoralized when the game reset and I was downgraded to 90s era equipment, but at the same time I enjoy the new tier system. I only hope that I can level up faster while still playing on normal mode.
My favourite way to play is Professional with two evidence - I love having to do a bit of extra investigation to determine the ghost, but to have the screens in the truck to provide extra intel.
I recently found your channel and its been helping me become a much better player! I still consider myself very new to learning the ghosts' behaviors, do you have any videos where you go more in depth on ruling out ghosts? like at 6:40 when you started ruling out a bunch of different ghosts after just a few interactions. Do you have a video explaining why you know its not those types? Thank you again if you see my comment, love the content!
About the question at 5:45... I started playing in this update and my experience has been shit. Firstly we got into the game without even doing the tutorial ans spent 30 min in a match that everyone died. Then I did the tutorial and started actually playing the game, and it's really cool, except for the tier 1 equip. All tier 1 equip sucks and it takes sooooo long to get any evidence, specially when it comes to spirit box and dots. Also, all my friends mock me for trying to figure out the game by watching videos, reading somethings outside the game and stuff. They primarily say I'm a tryhard and also I'm "graduating in Phasmo" or some shit like that. I've been trying to play solo, but I don't seem to get the same enjoyment than playing in a group.
I started on this update but I found it quite easy. If you just put everything in the room and watch from camera it’s easy. And I learned from watching you.
In a pinch, the “holding the door” hiding spot has worked for me before. Demon spawned at the master bedroom doorway in Tanglewood, so I dipped into the closet and held it shut. 😆 Janky hiding spots sometimes save the day.
Closets are hiding spots, they can't find you unless they saw you get into the closet and you hold the door shut, insym was talking about holding a room's door
@@gyrozeppeli7296 I didn’t think the storage/closet in the master bedroom counts as a hiding spot due it having an actual door. But even if it does, I did the same thing in the main bathroom near the entrance at Tanglewood. 🤷🏼♀️ Do I recommended that method? Hell no. 😆
I started at Lvl1, Although i had played the game before, the badge i got when i played last week said i only got to lvl 12 before the update so i was really lost. But thanks to your videos i realised i knew more than i thought when i played. But i still lack the experience and the confidence because i cant get the ghots right half the times. I cant see the ghosts speed and instantly know its one in specific, or know that some scream in particular is of just one of the ghosts or something like that. Plus, i always cross out some evidence and then it turs out the ghost just didnt do it, which i know is a classic noobie move but i try to repeat testing for every evidence before i cross it, although i get the ghost room wrong half the time too. So id say im as noob as anyone can be but i know how to loop ghosts without smudge sticks. :D (Because i dont have a choice if it haunts me so i learned the hard way.) I love your videos and i learn a lot from them. Thanks for being so creative and letting us know all of the game´s mechanics and secrets.
5:55 me and friend came back to phasmo after a three year break, from days that dots isnt even a thing. It's pathetic how smol the Tier1 dots projector is .... We cannot afford going back to the high school which is our favorite map too.
I started yesterday and it was definitely frustrating for my first few games. I didn't know what I was looking for and the tools being so bad made it even harder. The tier 1 EMF made it hard to find where the ghost is and sometimes looked like it would hit 5 sometimes so then I would be wrong. I didn't know what DOTS and spirit orbs looked like so with such a small area made it harder to find what it was. I usually play Demonologist and wanted to give Phasmaphobia a go. It was a difficult transition. I am not the biggest fan of the tier 1 spirit box since it's static is loud and the only reason I knew to look for the tiny hard to see ghost light is going off and that it means the spirit box is positive is because of my experience with Demonologist. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, I am enjoying it more.
I've made a custom diff giving me 5.71x with 2 evidence, no running, ghost speed 150% etc and its pretty fun! So far I'm getting perfect investigation almost every time except when the ghost is too hard to guess and I get it wrong. Your videos definitely helped me become a better ghost hunter.
To help new players, I'd recommend the devs make it so that the T2 upgrades for the evidence items are unlocked and equipped for new players (for the first 1-100). This will improve the experience for new players jumping in without doing the tutorial. While I also feel T1 thermo and UV are considerably better than T2, T2 are simpler to use effectively for a player who doesn't know the game. T2 spirit box has much more intuitive indicators (x or ghost), writing book is more obviously open/ closed, DOTs are much easier to see. It's fine to say "Just do the tutorial" or "Read it properly", but if a new player jumps in and doesn't have fun, they'll just quit and refund...
While I think the idea sounds interesting, it kind of completely negates the purpose of having tier 1 equipment items to begin with, so I can't really get behind the idea. Players who are curious will search up further if they wanna learn, those who dont arent likely to wanna play much anyway
@@nikolachiara9285 There is truth to what you've said, but I the way I see T1 (I could be wrong of course) is that it provides a challenge if a player chooses to prestige (or is a returning player). With this update, they've ramped up the difficulty for everyone, both for returning players and completely new ones. The changes I proposed would only affect new players (or people who reset their progress to 0 for some reason). You definitely have a point about whether accommodating those players (i.e. new but can't be bothered to read) is worth it or not. That's always a debatable point in game design. Some games aren't meant for some people.
I started playing just before the big update, and into it, on VR. Level one stuff very hard on solo, but bearable in multiplayer. I typically use text voice recognition for the spirit box, so I can spam it better, considering how trash the tier 1 version is. I'm also fairly certain (at the time) the VR sanity drain is almost doubled compared to normal sanity drain; other people who I followed around had much more sanity than I did, even though we were standing in the same places.
My friend and I played a few days ago for the first time and we were wrong as well, it was a mimic... 😂 We joined the game with 0 knowledge, didn't understand a thing and then watched a video of yours and improved a lot!
I just started playing 2 weeks ago. The ghost writing was defiantly hard to get. Several times I would rule it out, hit the keypad on the truck, look at the monitor and the ghost would start writing.
Tip for anyone else having this issue - throw all the other movable items out of the ghost room. Leaving less options for the ghost to interact with increases the chance of it interacting with the book. And if the ghost throws the book instead of writing in it, you can 100% rule out ghost writing.
@Handelo be careful with the book being thrown- don't know if it was a glitch or intended, but had a ghost write in the book when my friend and I were in the van and also throw it before we got back to the room, so we came in, saw the book moved and ruled it out as an evidence. Thankfully we picked it up and checked later, but yeah.
I started in this update basically. (I was level 15 in the old version.) And my friends were like 100-200 somethings. WE STRUGGLED SO HARD. Half the shit they knew was now obsolute like freezing breath etc. All the tools are terrible, borderline useless. On top of it none of my friends knew anything useful. They were casual and just hid/did pro-Nightmare hunts before. No looping/ghost hunt knowledge. Yeah our first 2 days of playing we got like 2 of 25 ghosts right. But then after a decent bit of research (and getting a couple of extra things via levels.) we started to get it going. Now me and another guy are like constantly talking, "o was that a Yurei double touch, etc.", meanwhile our other friend learned every cursed spawn and does all the extra stuff like bone hunting and picturing everything. Doing much better now. But to say it was demoralizing those first 2 days would be an understatement. And we have by no means perfected looping/escaping the ghost. But thats the next steps. Been practicing solo and its trippy hard to not just hide from the ghost like I want to. But I am slowly getting better. My trouble is immediately recognizing speed/sound, so sometimes I just get got.
i had just started phas right as the update happened its quite difficult as a new player, but by watching your videos ive learned alot and bettered my skills!
Starter items on Insanity, that's crazy 👻 I can't even not die on Professional with regular items. What still kills me more often than not is that the flashlight turns on when I circle through my items which is especially frustrating during a hunt when you have to press two different buttons to turn it off..... And it's also hard to keep track of hiding spots and escape routes, although that should be my basic knowledge 😅
I wholly agree the tier 1 thermo and glow stick are better than their upgrades. Wish we had the tier 1 thermo earlier, cuz I would have been using it alongside the glow stick this entire time. I still find it funny that my friends always used to say the glow stick was trash compared to the UV flashlight, then they joined my world one time and were forced to use the glow stick. They never went back to the UV flashlight afterwards lol
I think for beginners, they should allow unlimited running and as you progress, the running amounts should get lower and lower. This would help newer people to help them learn to looping the ghost or just trying to get away from them
little tip for finding out poltegerist, look at how fast the items it throws moves, i get alot of poltegerists and never get them wrong just by looking at the speed of the items it throws
As someone who bought this after the update, since we're locked in amateur level for several levels anyway, it's not too bad. It seems like the evidence is mostly easy to get on amateur mode. Sometimes it's just a matter of watching the cam and dots in the truck for a while, at least until you get a polty and it throws the camera everywhere. 😅 Still haven't gotten/done a hunt yet. I opted to try a couple of friendly ghost runs to get used to the items and the layout of the houses first before jumping into the reward level though.
I cannot play the game myself because my laptop is not very good, and so I have to play vicariously through watching streams/replays of other people playing. I have 2 friends who play the game but haven't done so in a while so I heckled them into doing so and streaming to me. They both played with tier 1 items and I was the one coaching them through what to do. It went okay, they were really hesitant to go into the house, even while they were on 80% sanity and above. Although one friend did get killed by a demon very early in and refused to play another round.
I just started playing yesterday after watching quite a few guides beforehand. I walked in with confidence and after 8 rounds I can say I'm struggling lol. 6 deaths and I've found maybe 2 total pieces of evidence despite watching atleast 10 hours of game play before even owning the game. I'm having fun though.
As a new player, tier 1 items are definitely hard to use, especially the notebook. I think it's fun though since it feels so rewarding to finally catch some evidence. Right now the tier 1 item that I have the most success with is the tier 1 video camera.
bruh how i have had like 10 times where i think i dont have ghost orbs and it ends up being ghost orbs. the t1 video camera is the worst item imo. and i even look for orbs for a good 20 seconds
First game of the day, Willow house: living room Demon, extra spicy 🤦🏻♀️ Second game: Mimic posing as an Onryo and wouldn't touch anything, maybe he had no hands 🙄
So in the real world you use an EMF meter to detect electromagnetic fields/radiation. You can use them to trace live wires in walls/floors, etc or if you work with radio equipment it's used to trace EMF leaks/interference because all electrical things "leak" EMF. I guess you can also find wireless spy devices with it as well. It would be cool if they can add an element of "false EMF" since literally all electronic things will make a real EMF meter go up so maybe add a "accuracy" thing where the cheap one will more than likely give false positives especially when used near lights that are switched on or around your own equipment like the video camera. Maybe the best way to get an "accurate" EMF reading then is to turn the main breaker off forcing the player to work in the dark a bit more kinda like how certain ghosts want you to be alone. Also, random malfunctions on all the crappy gear would also add some immersion, forcing players to switch their equipment off and on again during stressful moments would be fun.
With camp woodwind speedrun I'll do normally two hunts for check out mimic and if it is diffucult, then I live thru more hunts. I have been adding items depending on what ghost it "might" be. Using salt to get salt photos and know if it isin't wraith, crucifix if ghost hunts on top of me, fileplace/candle for onryo, EMF for Raiju and I use lvl 1 smudge sticks. If you use lvl 3 EMF, then i leave it by entrance to check yurei. But it is dependable where and which ghost will be and most of the time i will need to guess. That how I play that map.
Hi Inysm. I have started again after new update. I had break about 1-1,5 year since last play so it was quite change. First match I have died but every next one was better and better. I started at professional so it is VERY difficult for me to correct identify ghost with so bad eq but it is going better and better. There is a lot of fun but it is also scary for me so they kept horror aspect for sure :D
I started during this update with a few friends we were all new except one and died a good bit on the easiest difficultly, but a few days in and we are having so much fun no longer stuck on the easiest difficulty
Im a Person who started playing in this update, the dots were hell to use. I have always played single player so i learned it all one my own too its been fun
I started playing phasmo yesterday because of the achievements and yeah, its hard. Ive only gotten the ghost correct once within the 6 hours ive played this update, and my first hour playing i had no clue what i was doing. The shop ui was so confusing and i kept looking for the emf reader in the truck but couldnt find it because i was looking for the tier 2 emf reader and had no clue what tier 1 even looked like.
My gf and her friend both started last night, I’ve been playing for a while. They said it was unbelievably hard when I left and they had only level 1 equipment with no extras
I started playing phasmo at the current version and it is so much harder than it looked through videos. I’m level 3 and have played like 25 games and got like 3 ghosts right and died atleast 10 times as I didnt know it can see my flashlight during a hunt. I can never get dots, fingerprints, freezing or writing. The only time I ever get an evidence is when its spirit box.
I know the spirit box is annoying when u leave it on, but I tend to passively get responses even when im not holding it or when im not actively asking questions. I cant remember which ghost it is, but there is one that hates the spirit box. when u try talking to it on the spirit box, it gets angry instead of responding.
I feel like fingerprints would have to be the flashlight, glowstick and then electric uv field emitter or something. A bigger and permanent glowstick to be an actual upgrade. The thermo t3 should just always show the accurate temp digitally
i think that they should have certain ghosts behaviors or even evidence be detectable only in truck via sound sensor (or some other item). truck dwelling is such a cool concept (it even gets tracked in the statistics), but once you become good at the game there's pretty much no reason to stay in the truck at all. it kind of sucks because i remember staying in the truck quite a bit when i first started playing, and it made me "feel" like a real investigator. now i never do it.
"Only compete with yourself" is great life advice in general.
Lol
1:51:00 I also think they should add the different stat page for mimic exclusively at the end of the game so you can see which ghosts the mimic did take but it may be too complicated to implement
good idea and tbh it wouldnt be difficult to implement
Seeing which abilities he used would be good, but depending how it is now made, just seeing what he took without using it wouldnt mean much
it's not difficult to implement but somehow the devs are unable to contain all the bugs and overall maintain the codebase
They should do which ghost it mimicked + the abilities eg 1 mare ability, 1 deo hunt etc.. it might be difficult tho
That’s not a bad idea actually. Can’t see this being too difficult to pull off though
As a New player, I think the hardest part was not knowing what I was looking for, for like Dots or the spirit box. this channel helped XD
I had zero idea on how to use the dots first time playing.
I remember in my first game, I found a knife and thought it must be a cursed possession because who would have a knife in the bedroom?! 😂

You need to play the game before you start talking
I agree, watching random phasmo games is always fun. the Pros doing those sick challenges and escapes of hunts, and the beginers being so scared and new to all the game mechanics and letting us see all the creepy feel the level and sound design can give to people. i have a friend who can't play more than 2 sets with me for how scared he gets. Also, I think what they are trying is mostly, give more ways to be useful to those who stay in truck. they are players of the game after all, hating a portion of the players is bad for the game.
Haha I used to be like your friend, terrified of doing anything in the same, at the first site of a ghost event I'd book it, take a guess and never step foot in again 😂
Over the past few weeks I decided to get back into playing the game, started off as I was years ago but recently playing with friends cracking a few jokes and having a laugh here and there really took away the super spook factor of this game.
The master always makes it look easy don’t they?
I often see him state something like it's blindingly obvious and I can't see it or hear it even when I rewind the video to watch it again... :P
But these videos have still taught me so much about how to use all the equipment correctly and some of the more obvious determinants between ghost behaviours, even if I can't tell the more subtle ones apart at all still.
I started playing phasmo 8 days ago, the hardest part was getting over how scary it was. I was constantly scared about when the ghost could hunt, but after that it was actually pretty easy, the tier 1 items weren't actually horrible for me (I also am now level 48 from doing camp ww start, I improve at games somewhat fast)
a good milestone for fear is when you instinctively know it's a ghost event and try for a picture instead of fleeing a possible hunt
38:44 I saw the Goryo dots. Only a single twitch chat viewer noticed it as well, and they were ignored sadly.
I remember when Phasmo first came out there were so much troll info in search results about playing the game lol
‘To stop the hunt, throw a knife at the ghost’
‘If you hold the crucifix the ghost can’t kill you’
I recently started and having watched you for almost 2 years has definitely helped a lot, like only after 3 hours of playing I’m playing a custom difficulty that’s kinda like nightmare ish in terms of hardness and rewards but it’s 3 evidence so 9/10 times I have all evidence before the first hunt
He's not looking. He's listening for the ghost.
9:50 I remember in my first game I somehow easily found out that it was an obake. The game only took like 5 minutes, I instantly got every evidence.
I have restarted Phasmo about 1 week ago after more than 1 year not touching it. It felt both new and still familiar. I had first hard time guessing which ghost I was dealing with and eventually nailed it....until I met Le Mimic...twice in row.
Il Mimo strikes again
The first time I attempted to hide but was found because I had my flashlight on.. this channel has really helped us but joining lobbies or playing with people that have better items in the beginning was very helpful
when i first played i got chills from the ghost hunts and the spookiness of it... now its just like whats up ghost let me lick your toes and damn you dont have toes... well then back to the truck we're out. idk kinda wish they had more spooky scary parts. i miss that.
there is only so much horror tho
I wish they added ghost events where the ghost appears silently behind you and waits for you to turn around. Would be creepy
2:00 I remember when everyone thought that "line of sight" meant burying your head in the corner, and the ghost wouldn't see you XD

4:03 the perfect smooth sales pitch, and he thought we wouldnt notice
In most games, phasma included I find it's better when you're clueless to the inner workings of the game. The wonder and cluelessness as you figure things out and get better.
Clumsily looking for the ghost and evidence, running around like a headless chicken when it hunts, rarely knowing if you're safe or not, all the crazy random stuff you say to trigger the ghost.
The panic at every ghost event even just random auditory and visual ones that can't harm you.
You don't get that when you see an event and can go "ah this event, I know that's just a visual or auditory event and it's not dangerous"
Compared to freaking out over every interaction.
When you know everything it becomes a little too efficient, maybe even a little repetitive. A lot of the perceived danger lessens during non lethal events
You just run in find the cold room "are you here/french/near? touch something" spam down all the evidence and bonus objective equipment, get some pics and done
Even when it hunts or events, you kind of already know if you're safe or dead, removing more of the panic.
In plenty of cases memeing around like "get a pic of me with it kekw"
still fun, but in a different way
50:00
I had a game the other day where we were on High School for 13 minutes and didn't hear anything.
I love that twitch chat says hi to youtube, because then I get to say hi stream and feel like I'm actually conversing with real people for once.
I was just about to Sleep... Perfect timing as always
My favourite way to play is Professional with two evidence - I love having to do a bit of extra investigation to determine the ghost, but to have the screens in the truck to provide extra intel.
this gonna be lit, havent even finished watching and i already know🗣️‼️🔥🔥
I recently found your channel and its been helping me become a much better player! I still consider myself very new to learning the ghosts' behaviors, do you have any videos where you go more in depth on ruling out ghosts? like at 6:40 when you started ruling out a bunch of different ghosts after just a few interactions. Do you have a video explaining why you know its not those types? Thank you again if you see my comment, love the content!
nevermind, continuing the video you talked about your no evidence playlist😅
Hell no. 😆
Another video yippie! Been sick all week so I've just been binge watching these new videos daily.
I can confirm, me and my friends are level4 and this is exactly what it feels like.
I started at Lvl1,
Although i had played the game before, the badge i got when i played last week said i only got to lvl 12 before the update so i was really lost.
:D (Because i dont have a choice if it haunts me so i learned the hard way.)
I love your videos and i learn a lot from them.
Thanks for being so creative and letting us know all of the game´s mechanics and secrets.
love your videos man you are so chill and help me understand things in the game a lot better all the time
5:55 me and friend came back to phasmo after a three year break, from days that dots isnt even a thing. It's pathetic how smol the Tier1 dots projector is .... We cannot afford going back to the high school which is our favorite map too.
29:35 Insym about to get cancelled? He hates babies!

Anyone else just gets excited when he says HI RUclips, HOW ARE YOU DOING…. Love from Kenya
Has to play on insanity and with only level 1 items...
Noob players: Look what he has to do to mimic a fraction of our power!
It's been always a great time watching this video 👍
Oof lol
Tier 1 book sucks so much
F
I got my first ghost corract because it was a mimic and i was just watching you dealing with a mimic
This would help newer people to help them learn to looping the ghost or just trying to get away from them
omg. that description of the "roles" was so fucking spot on with the people i usually play with. Photo guy... i'm the photo guy.
little tip for finding out poltegerist, look at how fast the items it throws moves, i get alot of poltegerists and never get them wrong just by looking at the speed of the items it throws
I started playing 3 weeks ago and I almost never got DOTS because they were just so bad 😭 I just got tier 2 yesterday and now it's great
As someone who bought this after the update, since we're locked in amateur level for several levels anyway, it's not too bad.
Yes i love watching level 1 challenges!
I learn a lot by seeing you failling 😂 this is a good challenge
You'll know it's French when you place a baguette on the floor and it starts spinning
@austinvetter2364 Idk what to say, maybe I'm just really lucky with ghost orbs.

Literally all my phas knowledge has come from you 🤣❤

11:25 did he not get EMF5 on that door? I swear that would've helped him figure out Spirit.
My gf and her friend both started last night, I’ve been playing for a while. They said it was unbelievably hard when I left and they had only level 1 equipment with no extras
Level one challenge.
Puts tier 2 spirit box in the thumbnail.
Thanks Insym.
Isn't it the same thumbnail he had on lvl one challenge before the update? xD
@@deliriouscheeto I just checked, it totally is the exact same thumbnail haha
