I got 14:06 doing a run pretty similar to this. The biggest difference is that I didn't despawn the enemies near the end of the level. I took care of the Hunters by bringing a Rocket Launcher to kill them. If you don't kill them, they'll actually follow you to the very end of the level (I'd figure they'd leave you alone if you go too far from them, like most Halo enemies). After killing the Hunters, I then use the remaining rockets to clear the area of Brutes. At the end of the level, I kill the Brutes under the Anti-Air Gun using the Sniper Rifle, and then destroy the Anti-Air Gun with the Fuel Rod Gun (it takes three hits, and it only feels appropriate to use that weapon, lol).
I kept getting screwed over at 1:37. The missile pod would fall completely off the platform half of the time and the wraith would start shooting at me after I took out the anti-air wraith.
I had my fuel rod from the previous mission full so I just kinda blasted that first wraith and everyone else - never picked up a Plasma pistol - swapped the empty fuel rod for rockets at hte mongoose part. Not necessary but was fun
Same here, except I kept getting screwed over at 1:37. The missile pod would fall completely off the platform half of the time and the wraith would start shooting at me after I took out the anti-air wraith.
Hey, I found something interesting you might want to know. Out of over 1,000,000 people who have done the first mission of the first halo, you are 49th. Great job dude : )
Jedi Gamer7 Thanks, man! I was #1 for a couple missions and I was top 10 in a lot of them, but I'm pretty sure I've been knocked down significantly since a lot of these runs, lol.
Had to improvise a bit towards the end, before the despawn jump, because Brutes kept seeing and shooting me every single f-ing time. But got it with a good time of 13:10
If you can’t make the jump to despawn the enemies there’s another sniper next to the machine gun turret you can use to shoot the guns weak point without having to go anywhere near it
I just got this one in 11 mins. Thanks for the guide. I found grabbing the rockets in the bug room really makes the last tiny bit easy. I used em to blast the Scarab guys, as well as the 2 hunters and all the brutes real quick before going out of the map. Now it is on to Floodgate.
If you've been playing through these via playlist, then you carry over the weapon you had in the prior mission. This means I started off with a battle rifle and fuel rod cannon, so I could kill the anti-air wraith immediately. In this case, bring the warthog up front instead of the ghost. The gunner will target the ghosts while you destroy the wraith. Then, the hornets will swoop down and clear the building at the dock. You'll have a full missile pod to take care of the ghosts (assuming it doesn't fall into the void) and then the wraith.
Could you describe the ghost jump? I keep dropping in between the canister and fence. Between this one and the one at the beginning of Sierra 117, they are killing me.
Basically, you just walk on top of the canister and as soon as you see yourself starting to drop off of the edge of it, that is when you want to jump. Also make sure it's a crouch jump.
HeroicASF Hey, so I just finished the Halo 3 LASO playlist and I used this jump literally three days ago. It’s not patched...it’s just way fucking harder than Silver makes it look...I cleared out every enemy and it still took me forever to hit it
I'm a bit late to the party but mainly just stickin this here for maybe anyone that comes by this problem. I switched from the 'toggle' to 'hold' on my crouch setting and have gotten it first try the past three attempts, hope this helps someone!
Apparently if you hold on additional sniper ammo or rocket you can take the big gun at the end from a far I just used the sniper and br from a far to take it out by passing the whole end fight don't know if its known or not
This is the worst mission in the game. The RNG is so ridiculous. You need so much fucking luck at the start. If any Grunt throws a nade at any point, or goes suicide, you have to restart. Takes an insane amount of tries every time just to get to the fucking Ghosts. Afterwards, die at any point and if you're unlucky you didn't get a checkpoint after the Ghosts. During the entire missile section you need good RNG for the Ghosts and Banshees that shoot at you, also the Wraith always focuses you if you shoot the turret guy, so you need to do that early. There's the glitch that happened to Silver that also requires a restart. While running by the Brutes near the end you need luck so that they don't turn around and insta-kill you. If you get stuck there you also need to restart. And at the end you need luck that the enemies pathing doesn't fuck up and they actually retreat. I died to some because they got stuck on a wall, then got stuck at the Brutes and now I'm stuck at the beginning again. 16:32, could've gotten way under par time the first time I got to the end, if I didn't get such horrible RNG at the very end. Also tried sniping the orb rather than running up to it as some comments suggested, that was way slower than dual pistols and actually got me killed by the Hunters, don't do that. I can't imagine Ark or Covenant to be worse than this.
You can actually shoot a few grunts at the first gate to avoid grenades, took me 2 hours of trying to realise that, then splatter the furthest brutes, while letting the closest ones activate their shields that will actually block most enemies from shooting. In the second tunnel you can pick up the rockets to use on scarab and on your way to the hunters encounter. The rest is pure rng unfortunately, a lot of places that might have yellow brute with a bruteshot, or might not.
Hey silver, I finished halo 3 on legendary under three hours a long time ago... And I never unlocked the achievement .. Any idea why? Or any way to fix this problem ? Great video anyways!
The Wraith at the beginning ALWAYS focuses me. As soon as I start shooting he fires at me and I die to the explosion.

Hint grab a plasma pistol overcharge it on the glowing part of the gun and it will take the gun out in one shot
This is extremely helpful.
7:14 i do believe the door will only open if all of the enemies in the area are killed, that includes the ones on the scarab.

Instead of that last skip, hoard the sniper rifle and you can snipe the orb from a distance.
You can do it even faster with dual wielded Plasma Pistols
If you can’t make the jump to despawn the enemies there’s another sniper next to the machine gun turret you can use to shoot the guns weak point without having to go anywhere near it
Learning the mongoose door clip is more fun
9:26 with your tatics, just had to improvise a bit! thanks silver

halofornoobs93 No problem! That's a good idea to grab the rockets. Also, enjoy Floodgate AKA the easiest/quickest level in Halo 3 :D
10:20 for me :)
Achievement might be bugged because my Ark and Covenant runs add up to 2 hours and I unlocked it after beating this one

Halo Completionist Thanks, at this point, achievement isn't popping anyway and I know I'm under. Will keep at it. Again, thanks.
@@HaloCompletionist I'm convinced it's patched, absolutely cannot get the jump. Just came off Back for more and Monopolized so I'm not complete trash

ive been playing Halo 3 since 07 I never knew that's what was in the back of a scarab and now I feel so dumb for not knowing because its so obvious!
Apparently if you hold on additional sniper ammo or rocket you can take the big gun at the end from a far I just used the sniper and br from a far to take it out by passing the whole end fight don't know if its known or not
FYI, you cannot make the jump over the fence if you have crouch set to toggle, must be hold
Not true
With the Scarab you can just sit up on one of the missile launchers and spam it down. Must safer and quicker.
Idk what's going on after i kill the first 2 wraiths. The door doesn't open even after Johnson says to head to the next area.
That jump at the end does not work when I try to jump it’s like an invisible wall is blocking me from getting past that wall

The AA gun glitches at the end for me whenever I do the skip, is there a way to avoid this happening?
Probably not hitting the load zone, check out the end of my latest LASO guide for this mission, I definitely point it out there.
@@HaloCompletionist that was probably it, I figured it out now but before the AA Gun wouldn't fire.
Thank you for these videos
Every time i get the missile pod i get destroyed by a banshee, so frustrating
Anybody else struggling get past the very first part ahaha
Worst Halo mission ever, talking about timing. Just finished with 2:12 hours on the clock. Damn. The problem indeed was at the scarab fight.
