    The Note 4 is VASTLY superior. Nexus elitist hate the fact that the Note 4 is better in almost every turn. Stock Lollipop is very boring, Nexus 6 have terrible battery life, the worst screen, and above all extremely huge. There is no way the Nexus win, deny it all you want Samsung will always remain better with features people care about.

      features people care about? Samsung is the king of gimmicks. Touchwiz over stock ? You are in the minority there. Nexus 6 does not have terrible battery life, and the worst screen ? No its not. You're talking out of your ass.

    I just went and picked up my note 4. It was such a difficult decision between the Note 4, Nexus 6, and the Z3. But I have to hand it to Samsung, I have no regrets passing up on the nexus 6 and the z3.

    • @jamesvandervegt5431
      @jamesvandervegt5431 10 лет назад

      +Mac Lumen not if you hate touchwizz and or oversized phones(Nexus 6) i would choose z3 anyday over the note 4 and Nexus 6 not to say they are bad phones Just not for me

    • @jackskellington9570
      @jackskellington9570 9 лет назад

      ***** Z3 is practically the best option next to an S5 or note 4. Just because the Galaxy is better does not make something else crap.
      Boo hoo z3 has s801 instead of s805.
      It's also 1080p so not huge difference in on screen graphics.
      The display is far from sub par. It's fantastic.
      The camera is still one of the bests.
      The stereo speakers beat the M8.
      The battery life is great. The build quality design and water resistance are top notch.
      It's a Greta device and overall better than the G3 and M8.
      Samsung superior screens, camera tuning, and features are the only thing giving them the bigger edge.
      Sony used to be fat behind but are catching up fast

    • @jackskellington9570
      @jackskellington9570 9 лет назад

      ***** No. You're the one being an exaggerated fanboy.
      Yes Amoled is the best. That does not mean you can't have a nice LCD device. That's stupid. Plus it's triluminos.
      And it comes very saturated but you can adjust the saturation and white balance on the Sony phones too.
      And it has a really high brightness that does decent outside. Not the best but plenty good.
      And xreality does make some things a little sharper and vivid.
      So yes. It's a great display.
      And obviously s805 would have been way better. Duh!
      But that does not make the s801 bad. It's still a good chip and still has the z3 running fast.
      And wrong. The speakers are to notch with more clarity and equal Volume to the m8.
      Build quality is good.
      And battery life is great.
      And again. Camera! It could still use some refinement in processing but it's still one of the best phone cameras

    • @jackskellington9570
      @jackskellington9570 9 лет назад

      ***** That's cute. While you are sitting here being a whining samsung fanboy and bashing something you never used. The actual users are enjoying changing the gamma to the heavier or more toned down settings.
      Again on a great device with amazing speakers, camera, build, profile, battery, Playstation support, and UI.

    • @jackskellington9570
      @jackskellington9570 9 лет назад

      ***** You foolish fanboys never quit and never think.
      I never said the camera was at its full potential. It's taken many generations for Sony to get it up to par and it still could use a lot more tweaking and would have greatly benefitted from ois.
      However....all those details included do not change the fact that the camera has a good enough sensor to overcome most of that and retain being one of the best on the market. Especially with more manual settings in use.
      And I don't think it's the best feel. I actually think the curved soft touch back of the S5 was an outstanding comfort and idea for usage and ergonomics.
      And you can whine, deny, bash, troll, and lie all you wish. The displays of the z2 and z3 are very very good displays. Just not the best. Z and z1 were a little more behind the curve.
      It's not as accurate as the note 4 in its selected sliders but because comparable to LCDs but with more flexibility and contrast and choice of gamma. And it still works very well out doors.
      1080p is plenty sharp. And the xreality helps smooth things out.
      We get it. S5 LTE-A and the Note 4 have the best displays on mobiles in the world. Followed by the regular S5 and possibly the Note 3, before the iPhone comes in with possibly best LCD.
      That does not make any other kind of display terrible or any saturation crap.

      we can get free apps, free music, free movies, free shows, customize our device inside and out. We have more than one choice for a phone. instead of the saaaaame shit everybody else has. WE HAVE AN EARPHONE JACK! since we have a large number of choices for a lhone, we don't have to pay an arm and a leg just because there's a fuckn apple on the back. our phones don't look like feminine tick tacks, oh and did I mention we don't have to pay for music. we also don't have to break into our devices to get free awesome shit. I've been heavily debating getting the Nexus 6 vs the Note 4, and I can't believe what I'm about to say, but I think Samsung's software is gonna win this decision as much as I generally hate Android skinning. They've just done an amazing job of making software that puts the spen to excellent use, certainly way more so than with my Note 2, and I don't think I could ever give up my spen no matter how much I want a Nexus 6.

    The nexus 6 seems like a huge jump from my s4. I have time to make a decision or remove these options from the equation before my July upgrade. The nexus 6 screen looks better imo. Hardware-wise everything else goes to the note 4. Stock definitely looks better than touchwiz. I will have to slap a ROM on the note 4. It basically comes down to battery and performance overall. I think the Note 4 deserves the 2014 Phablet crown.

    As an iPhone user since 2007 (the original and first iPhone) I am appalled at how stupid all these butthurt inner-Android fanboys are.
    Isn't the best thing about Android the ability to make your device your own? If you don't like Touchwiz, change it. I've never owned an Android device but will soon (Note 4 on its way via Fed Ex) and even I know this because it's common Android knowledge. I don't know how to do it, but people make it seem so easy so I'm sure it's not a daunting task.
    I've never seen so many "I shouldn't have to change an overlay/UI to another because it's bad." You're literally going backwards against yourselves and going back in time. If you want to be locked into one shitty UI, get an iPhone if not stop bitching and create the phone you'd like.
    With that being said the Note 4 WIPES THE FLOOR with every device in the world, fact. And unless you travel all the time you're an idiot for buying an unlocked phone for $700-900. There is no benefit to buying it like that straight up.

  • @FrankConquestJr

    Gonna go with Note 4. The Nexus 6 from AT&T already having screen, software issues with their big screen phones where they had to ship back. At least Samsung phones are more tried and have been around longer with a better rep. Not saying Nexus phones wont, but will take time.

    • @25eazi
      @25eazi 10 лет назад

      They had a problem with some of them on KitKat and not lollipop is why they were ship back! Lol minor gripe! Camera rated by DXomark on the nexus as one of the best on an android phone making the top 5! Note 4 wasn't there. They do cameras, professionally and are based off of factual test not opinions. Lollipop does have a bug which is hurting battery life! But to get over 24 hours on any smartphone is acceptable! Automateit will increase the battery life on any device if this is your problem! The 805 is tweaked in the nexuse 6 which makes it slightly better then the standard 805 version!

      My main problem with the Note is the Samsung UI... its known for being the worst on an Android device.... at least HTC's is much better. The pure Android experience though of the Nexus and the superior UI and much better version of the OS made me not ever consider the Note 4. Though the old stylus has limited value I just couldn't see myself going back and using those things again like in the Palm days. I have the Nexus 6 now and VERY impressed... can't imagine finding anything better.

    Hey Josh you left out probably one of the most crucial differences. The 1 handed operation on the Note 4, which doesn't exist on the Nexus....... With the size of these phones being IMPOSSIBLE to ignore, I'm truly amazed that this was left out of this comparison. Literally EVERY single reviewer has raised questions about the size of the Nexus. However it's less of a concern on the Note 4 because the keyboard can be shifted to accommodate a left or right handed user. It would be great to see a follow up video with this mentioned........ You, Michael Fisher, and MKBHD are the best reviewers out there. Keep up the good work.

I'm a phone addict and can't live 30 minutes without my phone but Note 4 never lag even though it's running NOT TRACK ME, HD live wallpaper, AppLock, Clean Master, and many other apps running in the background. Not to mention its AMAZING battery life.

      Der Ewige Wanderer I think the biggest complaints are that it's a resource hog that can cause even bleeding-edge hardware to sputter around, and it's also kind of a mess as far as being intuitive and well-organized. If the features of TouchWiz could somehow be redesigned with Google's attention to intuitive functionality, then it would be amazing, but it's clear that Samsung doesn't always know how to implement their great ideas very well.

      Daniel Korolev True, but it permeates throughout the system to all of the system apps like dialer and contacts and settings, and it's annoying to see Samsung force their software on users when Android is all about choice.

    I'll put it this way. Good or bad, the Nexus 6 is by far the most talked about flagship of the year through out the mobile tech community; even quickly overshadowing the whole "bend gate" thing. Love it or hate it, the Nexus 6 has been and still is on everyone's lips, blogs and comments. Google is genius in the way they're pushing the Nexus line mainstream, Nexus 6 ftw. #nexusnation

    Picked up the Note 4, absolutely in love with it (coming from Oppo Find 7).
    In the end, N6 had only 5.0 as an edge over the Note. So for those in the market for a large phone, I'd recommend Samsung. A well thought out package, with TouchWiz being somewhat less annoying than before, and in fact well designed with a large form factor in mind.

    I don't have a problem with TouchWiz. In fact it brings to user most of the software innovations that make it so much better than anything else. Such as Multi Tasking, SPen, Camera tools etc. Ok so some of its icons are a bit old now and yes sometimes there is a minuscule lag.... but it is worth it. My understanding is that if you remove TouchWiz then you make it no different than any other Android phone. It is like buying a 7 seater car and removing two of the seats to make it the same as all of the 5 seater cars.... just silly or you are buying the Note4 for the wrong reasons

      Both without encryption? Then the nexus 6 would be slightly faster (animations still gata do their sexy thing) with encryption on the 6 and none on the 5, the 5 is slightly faster.

      David Robles The nexus 6 is bound to do better.. It is encrypted by default, thats why it isn't so zippy when opening apps... dont get me wrong, its still fast.. but a side to side comparison will show the difference. Another reviewer, Erica Griffin has shown this with a comparison between the n6 and note 4.. note 4 was faster because it isn't encrypted.

    I don't understand why everyone complains about touchwiz. I get you might want a 'cleaner' feel of stock Android, but for me I just install a custom launcher and I'm good to go. I like the customization of touchwiz on my Note 4, and in my opinion it doesn't really get in the way if I don't want to use a certain feature.

    Really want to go with the note 4. Just not front facing speakers is what sucks because I'm on an HTC One atm and I love it. Let's break down what phone to get:
    Note 4:
    - S Pen
    - Multi Tasking
    - Removable SD and battery
    - One Handed Use
    - Smaller then Nexus 6 ( for me, I don't want that big of a phone, already don't want over a 5" screen)
    Nexus 6:
    - Android L
    - Front facing speakers
    Hmm....

I have had it since launch, and it's just all around a really, really good phone. I made a commitment when I bought it to have a phone that would easily be relevant a year later and unless Samsung drops a bombshell on us about flexible screens, will stay relevant for at least another year after that even.

    If you're like me and still deciding on whether to choose a Nexus 6 or the Note 4. Get the Note 4.
    I have been a Nexus User since the first Google Nexus S about 5 years ago. I've always loved the stock android experience. my last phone was the nexus 4 and I wanted to upgrade to the Nexus 5, Until I heard about the nexus 6 coming out. So I waited...
    Then when I finally got the Nexus 6 I was disappointed. Yes it was stronger. Yes it has a better camera. But that's basically it. Switching from the Nexus 4 to the Nexus 6, the only thing that changed was the screen size. after ONE day with the Nexus 6 I IMMEDIATELY returned it and got the Note 4. And I couldn't be happier. I sacraficed the stock android. But at least I got a phone that actually felt like it was worth $600+. all these new features are worth it.
    UNLESS, you're buying the phone for someone who is NOT techy and merely wants a phablet, then the nexus 6 is the way to go.

  • @Ugnwosu

    My take is a little different. I think the Note 4 wins easily (that's what I went with after debating). In 12-24 months time, the nexus 6 would probably be the better option (updates!!!) but seems no one ever keeps their devices for that long anymore.

    As much as I love the Nexus line, and pure Android, I still think the Note 4 is probably the best choice for money. Great comparison. I think the choice is quite simple, you either like Touchwiz or you don't. I don't so the decision is easy, Nexus 6. While the Note 4 has a few features to take advantage of the big display, I don't think that those features are polished enough. Also Samsung devices will usually degrade faster than others when it comes to performance. Touchwiz is still too heavy and has some ways to go. Stock Android is very beautiful too. Definitely the Nexus 6 for me.

    I have a few questions that practically NO ONE has touched on.
    1.) Does the Nexus 6 only have one microphone, Limiting recording capabilities to Hi-Fi Mono sound, or is that noticeable hole on the LED flash ring another microphone?
    I'm inclined to believe that it does not, as the settings menu for the video recorder doesn't give the option to select how audio is captured (front facing stereo, wind resistant, true stereo ect).
    2.) Does the Nexus 6 support TV OUT? If yes, then by what method(s) (MHL, Slim port, chromecast doesn't count as you need a WiFi connection to make it work)?
