You can also pinch to zoom in if you don't mind losing a bit of the top and bottom. And you actually get less/no black bars around 21:9 content such as movies, so it's kind of a tie with the black bars on 16:9 content.
But then you get a lot of screen real state in other stuff. Messaging apps, browsers etc. Which is quite useful imo.

Before i even start the video, i was recently trying to buy the phone again because i also used to have this phone and it's probably my most favorite phone that i've used to own.
The big 6" 1440p oled screen, stereo speakers and relatively small (for the time) bezels made this a real fun phone to use, and definitely the best portable experience i've used for content consumption.
The phone's screen size was definitely also an eyecatcher back in the day (i remember people with Samsung note's asking me what phone it was), and it still looks huge compared to modern phones due to the (in my opinion superior) 16:9 aspect ratio.
I regret selling the phone. I had the midnight blue edition with 64GB of internal storage (which seems to be hard to find since most people only seem to sell 32GB versions).

  • @joaquindayrit5746

I guess we all have our own experiences with this phone but I personally hated my Nexus 6. The one I had was extremely slow (probably because mine defaulted to running on encrypted and the nand is slow). My battery and camera also failed. My battery seized and I had to replace the battery on my own and my camera's OIS was going crazy with the camera jumping up and down for no reason. A few months later the top earpiece/speaker broke too. But that said, the phone was still impressing. That large screen paired with the stereo speakers was a RUclips binge-watcher's dream. But what amazed me the most was seeing how much hardware they crammed inside when I was replacing the battery. The mother board takes up most of the phones size and the battery is stacked over it and literally bent around the MoBo which is then held down my the mid frame. Still blows my mind.

I'm still rocking the Nexus 6 (typing this comment on it now) 64mb running Lineage 17. Still runs great not prefect but good enough to last till probably EOY. Great phone probably the only phone from it's time still running decently. Hell of a bargain. Only had to replace the battery and screen once.....They don't make them like this anymore that's for sure!!!

I wish Motorola would've kept making that phone. I still have mine as my backup phone. By far the best sounding speakers, the only phone that came close was the HTC one Max. You didn't mention it and most people don't realize that it also supports wireless charging, something few phones offered in 2014

Trust me on this - if you're looking for a great budget phone under £100, grab yourself a Google Pixel 1. Yes, the original. Cheap as chips and still phenomenally capable today.

This phone reminds me of my Motorola Droid Turbo 2 that I had back in 2016. 1440p screen that was AMOLED , 3gb ram, some 8-core snapdragon, etc. , Truly good phone, also it has a leather back cause that was the Motorola style back then, that was my last Android phone before switching to an iPhone , while Iphone does have a basically "glitch-free" user interface, the Motorola I had still had a better screen, currently I have an Iphone 8 plus

Could you do a video about upgrading an old laptop like from 2010s and using it in modern day and comparing it to old specs? Many old laptops have socketed cpus so it could be upgraded. Other parts could include ram, ssd, swapping an old keyboard or something like that. I upgraded mine Acer Emachines E732ZG from Pentium P6200 to I5-560m, got and ssd and 8gb of ram and it is perfectly usable for day to day tasks even today

A good phone that was utterly crippled by the forced storage encryption while using an SOC with no dedicated encryption processing block (wouldn't show up until the SD 810). This made it feel RIDICULOUSLY SLOW in absolutely any task that was dependent on storage speed unless you manually unlocked the bootloader and disabled the encryption. Once you did that though, it was a great device.

Fortunately most ROMs seem to do that by default. Which is pretty nice.

Hey BBO! You're one third of my holy trinity of tech content creators along with Tech Yes City and RandomGaminginHD. I finally took the plunge and decided to start my own channel. I know you're super busy but would be forever grateful if you could take a look at my video and give me some pointers :)
I missed out on the Nexus lineup but went straight to the Pixel XL; I was using it as my daily driver until it accidentally fell really fast horizontally at wall - whoops.
