  • Last weekend marked the first points race of the season at Idaho's Firebird Raceway. Our Chevy Nova racecar has been very consistent in testing so far this year but can I be consistent during race day? Dad made up to the race as well for his Camaro's first outing in 2023. Competition was tough and everyone was running tight even for the first race of the season. Watch as we race in the PRO and Nostalgia classes!

Great video man! Sad seeing first round losses when you work so hard to get everything perfect but that’s part of it! Best of luck this season! 😎🤟🏼

Want some advise. ??? The bracket world is a ritual of doing it the same way everytime !! EVERYTHING !!! Temp burn out 2 throttle clear outs at 4 grand move slowly forward til in pre-stage wait for his pre-stage bump in before him bring rpm to 2 grand stage bring to 3500 rpm 3rd yellow flickers and go shift glide at 7800 and watch for the other car !!!! Same way everytime !!! I was never an electronics guy !! ANY !!! Only a shift light !!! Front and rear consistent tire pressures are very important and part of the ritual !! I did it for around 30 years !!! The ritual needs to be yours and if your that into it purchase a dial-in weather station !! Never dial in off of what other cars are doing you'll just waist a lot of time getting frustrated chasing your tail !!!! Temp barometer air density all absolutely a necessity !! A drag racing weather station will even give you a suggested dial every round !!!! Also get if you have the money a Sal Biondo ( NHRA Super Stock legend ) practice tree !!! These 2 things along with the same car all that time took me to 50+ wins and 11 track titles in Pro ET , Pro , and Pro 1 !!! Over 2,000 passes !!!! NO delay box no crossover no 2 steps no transbrake no air shifter and NOTHING but that same class because it was a non-electronics class only and 1/4 mile only !!!! Skipping around in classes will not help your cause !!! Back when I started they a .400 pro tree and .500 full tree !!! The .000 lights came much later for me !!! I quit in 2017 ! I started in 1985 ! I also had some real good sponsors which can absolutely make a big difference !!! How much time do you want to put in it makes a difference with success !!!! I had a full size 6 foot practice tree at home with peddles and adjustable roll out !!!! I'm now 60 with lousy reflexes !!! You will win most of your races with consistent superior reaction times !!!! I remember one race having 3 .002 lights in a row during eliminations !!! 80% of your wins will come from beating them on the tree and hanging where you are on the track !!! It is always harder at night !!! I hope I was of some help to you !!! Cherish every pass because I miss It !!!!!👍👍👍👍👍🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆Happy burnouts !!!!!

I wonder if the air changing is affecting it more than you are predicting? I would think, based off my experience, that the shifts would not make it move that much. When I ran a high strung stock rod small block Ford and 3 speed, I had to move the shifts 3-400 rpm each gear to make it move a couple of numbers in the 1/4.

Definitely could be affecting the car more than I think! That's why I figured I would put an air shifter in it to completely eliminate my error out of the equation. Then I can just focus on what the air is doing to the car. Started installing the air shifter already and going racing this Friday so we'll see how it works. I'll upload another video!

Great videos keep it up, and some safety tips..
Use gloves always both of you no matter what , and you guys have to take a look at the cage in Dads car it's to low built and lower the seat in your car(probably Dads car to)..⚒🔧🙂
And for the love of God, fix the steering wheels in both cars!
And keep up, times are coming your way eventually.. 👍👍🙂

Man I don’t know if it’s the camera angle but that Camaro cage looks way too low. If you see a guy named Gene Reedy up there say hi. Old racing buddy when he lived down here near KC. Our old track KCIR closed. We used to index race in the Vamp series. Take care.

Can you tell me what hood and front lower spoiler your running and where to get them?

The hood is a Harwood fiberglass hood but I don’t remember the part number anymore and it’s worn off the hood. But I’m sure you can find it on their website! The spoiler is from Classic Industries!
