Lots of great tips in this video. The biggest change from when I raced is the extra technology. My biggest problem was inconsistency in my cars' performance. Having on the spot weather conditions would have gone a long way in dialing correctly.
I replyd once before saying jusr good stuff. Ill coment again after watching again a few months later .everything you said is quite helpful .i like when you did the math on holding some .with the way everyone is so consistant nowdays you gotta know that the dragster is going to be there weather you can see it coming or not .im geting chased 60 percent or more of the time its best have something in your pocket if not up your sleave.thanks man i enjoy all your content .B
Thank you!!! Yea I've always been a math guy I think that's why I love bracket racing so much lol. And yes you're right. I think since you're getting chased a lot, holding some will actually be more effective for you. You can make a lot of people decide early on that there's no way they can catch you. And if it's hard to judge them while they're flying up on you, don't care where they're at, just put it dead on.
This is a great video! Several points that I will definitely be putting more thought into. The tip about eating was a big one for me. Always thought food would make me slow on the tree and took several red lights to realize that you need it to stay calm, focus and be consistent. Thanks for sharing these tips!! Good stuff! 👌🏻
Yea for that one I know I added a clip of going red, but I was wanting each person to think about those things and how it affects them personally. Which is what you did! Definitely important to eat and drink. I think eating and drinking have a bigger impact on me than a lack of sleep
My dragster is super consistent and I usually dial what it runs, I just have to be on the tree. One race it ran six 4.85’s in a row, three were with a 0. I was running Q16 which is two time trials and four rounds, in the final I was .001 and went dead on with a 0. I have not raced in five years and am about to get a new motor that I built running. I’m waiting for my powder coater to get my intake done. I’m hoping to have it broke in by November 11 when we have our Iron man race.
That’s really consistent! Might as well dial honest then as long as you can keep hitting the tree. And that’s awesome! You should post some videos about it when it’s ready
Great video! I definitely enjoy getting someone else’s perspective on the sport that we love. Definitely need tip #11… Don’t forget to put gas in it! 😎🤘🏼
@@seancampbell4288 I don’t have the car in this video anymore. But I’m actually going to pick up the new one next Friday. And I will make a video revealing it
If you are say 0.050 red. You would add 0.050 to make it 1.150 in the box. Then you would be set up for a perfect reaction time if you hit the tree the exact same way.
Years ago I had gone deep Into the rounds in a 10 k at Rockingham dragway been 000 ,004 ,006 002 was crushing dragster after dragster in round 7 I added few into the box and came up like 032..it's definitely a mind thing....Bob Harris told me when we talked about what happened a month later at the winter games he told me that when it's late in the rounds and you start thinking about adding delay that that's the time to take a few out not put any in...never forgot that so I usually leave it alone and try to put it out of my mind ...I love braket racing it is the ultimate test in racing.
@@napolionbonipart3558 That’s interesting. I guess I’m a little different in that I like to add to the box as the race goes on. I agree with you man there’s no many little things that goes into bracket racing, feels like an unsolvable problem, it’s the ultimate test.

So. Question. Lookin at buying a dragster. Could you do a video on your car? Just a simple rundown?

Great video man.
@@easton3333 Thank you!
i’ve watched this video a lot, but do you think you could tell me how to figure out what to put in my box
You would need to make a hit on the track to figure it out. Probably start around 1.100
If you are say 0.050 red. You would add 0.050 to make it 1.150 in the box. Then you would be set up for a perfect reaction time if you hit the tree the exact same way.

Tip don’t bring dragsters into no box
We have a guy at my home track that has what appears to be a simple dragster with a stock LS motor that runs no box.
