So after I messed up the gaps the other Saturday, I got my rings in from Summit and now all rings are gapped properly and ready to go!!! Will be installing the new pro gear in the Ford 9" soon and I will try to get some video of that, but for sure get video of building the bottom end very soon. We had to have the rods machined to fit the pins so we have those back from the machine shop. It is Highly Likely I will need to remove the oil support ring to install the pins with the rods. All good though. I really wanted to keep the rings with the pistons so I just installed them!! Please like and Subscribe!
I used to leave the 2nd ring out since the top ring was so wide. FE s , I want to boost my 11:1 394 with old school stuff . I made my own catch can setup. The less friction on the short block was 10 ft lbs vs stock 40. I built it in 1999 but had to stop driving when I couldn’t pass the eye test. It made 503 hp with 64 iron heads that flow 285 I ported and put v grooves at the top quench of the intakes 2.06. And the grooves pointed at the plug to prevent squish detonation , just the intake side 2 v grooves where you see brown spots that show the trapped unburned gas, pointing to the plugs. And with .034 quench 11:1 , and the assembly as light as I wanted. It still runs great.,My son laid a block of solid black locker stripes the tell-tale said 7200. This is a 65 Galaxie 2dr HT with 4.33s and an H servo CJ with a kit. WOT was turned for 7200, but could drive around like a rowdy stocker. I would like to put a pair of 3582s on a pair of center dump truck manifolds and attach the turbos to pipe attached to the manifold on each side with the pair of intercoolers. And a BBM 2x4 intake and a Bullet roller. It’s 245 @.050 and 600 on a 110. What do you think?
Stuart Buckley thanks so much for your question! On the total seal rings I was using, I used the same gap on the top and second rings. Go fast, go straight! Be Safe!!
