As a Swede I'm trying to be pessimistic about our placement so I'm not disappointed. I've listened to this one so many times, and I'm not getting tired of it. I won't assume we'll win, but I'm hoping for top three.
Yeah I think it’s hard to beat Ukraine this year. They sent a good song. Probably top 10 even if there wasn’t a war but due to the war, it’s gonna do even better. However, but winning would probably help with the hurt spirit of the Ukrainian people so it’s impossible to feel mad about it you. They deserve it and there are more urgent things to worry about than a music contest
@@ViceCityExtra I'm not sure about that, I think other songs are bigger threats than Ukraine to be honest. While televoters might be more inclined to vote with their heart, I don't see them getting many points with the juries. Could happen, I suppose, but I doubt it.
It's a top 5 for sure, I can't see the jury not giving this top marks. Just worried about the televote but I think it'll do well there aswell, I just dont know if it will do VERY well in the televote
I'm Swedish too and I like it well enough but I like Poland's and Norway's better 🙂. There's a bunch of "emotional" songs this year that are competing for the same votes: Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Switzerland, Australia and maybe Portugal too.
I was there at the final and Cornelia’s simply amazing. The song, and performance, is so real, raw and genuine. Haven’t been this proud since Loreen and Euphoria 🇸🇪❤️
Agree! The first time I heard it in Mello some weeks ago I didn't watch the performance at all and I had never heard of Cornelia, but I emmidiatly feelt this was going to be the winner. After that it's been growing on me just the same way that Euphoria did. It gives me the same chills. And I have some earproblem with guys singing in falsetto. Since I cannot vote for Sweden I will vote for Ukraine. Slava Ukraina 🇸🇪✊🏽♥️🇺🇦
I listen to this every day and it still gives me goosebumps. Cornelia sings with so much emotion and sadness in her voice and I think everyone can recognize themselves in the song, at some stage of their lives. Typical Eurovision song? Well, maybe not. But I think many people like it. ❤️ / Jennie from 🇸🇪

I really really was looking forward to your reaction to this, because I know that monotonous slow songs are not your style but you do appreciate real art when it shows, I couldn't agree with you more. Sweden is now a game changer in the contest!!!!!!
Usually, it takes a few enters before a "new" Swedish artist wins in Melodifestivalen - e.g. Eric Saade / Benjamin Ingrosso / Robin Bengtsson and so on, but Cornelia (who have only participated with group Love Generation before and is unrecognizable there) really won all of our hearts. This song is simply amazing, happy that it gets all the European recognition it deserves!! Thank you for your reaction!!
When I first heard this son I really loved it and it just grows on you the more you listen to it. She has such a great voice and the song is perfect for her.
I am in love with our song and it's my favourite in many years. She just delivers so good on stage. This is the first time in many years that our artist is close to unrecognized. Often people vote for the person that they like and not the song. (example from last year - Tusse won the Swedish idol and is loved from that and that's probably one reason he won). This year a famous man called Anders Bagge (who is jury in Idol and is very loved) was close to beat Cornelia which he luckily didn't. I heard from a guy here that his mom voted for Anders just because he has cute dogs. Like wtf? Anyways I'm very happy and proud that Cornelia is representing us. Glad you liked it! (I do recommend to listen to the semi-final version for a little more clean performance). It was still Covid there and not so many people in the arena. It went from like 500 to 26 000 people so obviously that effected a few of the artists!
Yes, it's an avalanche. Everytning is so fu**ing good about this song, artist, voice and performance. I will love it til the end of the days. One of my top 10 entries from Sweden ever. Well maybe the most favorite songs ever. Thanks for watching your reaction!
First time I heard it in the debut I knew it would win and I was sooooo happy it did, I would have been heartbroken if this didn´t go to eurovision, not necessarily to win but so that so many more people can experience the unique feeling this song gives you and give them all that breeze of hope that only very certain musical pieces can make you feel
I love love love this song! And its one of those songs you want to listen to many many times LOL! IM SO happy we chose this for Eurovision. It has this rawness and its so emotional and Cornelia actually co-wrote this song about a real breakup she had - thats why it feels so real as well. Will it win? No but hoping for top 5 :) There are so many ballads this year but I think with the drums and beats in the middle of the song will make it stand out a little bit, I hope. Thanks for a great reaction video :)
I love Hold Me Closer: the song, lyrcis & performance is amazing. Cmon Cornelia, bring ESC back to Sweden (I'm from UK). Also, with recent and current events, the world needs a Swedish Eurovision, no-one does a more uplifting and fun ESC like the Swedes.
Yes. The melody is magical. I got hooked the first time I heard it and listened to it on repeat to figure our why the song made me feel something. And yeah, the melody, the lyrics, her raspy voice, OMG! She is incredible.

We usually say that the right song never wins Melodiefestivalen (our contest to decide who goes to Eurovisioon) but this time it finally feels like the right song DID win. If you want some juicy gossip to go with it. . . . this song was about a real and recent experience and it seems that as she worked on developing it she and one of the other people working on the song fell COMLETELY in love. .. just connecting around the vulnerability as well as the best way to express that musically. . . so it's not strange if it makes you feel waves of hope.
Also, another fun tidbit. Her mother's parents weren't origionally going to come to the final probably because it would be such a large audience (26k) and Omicron is still spreading quite much but at the last minute her grandfather had a dream about it and decided that they HAD to go.
This is the right song, at the wrong time. But winning hearts is more important than winning ESC. I stand with Ukraine now, all the way into not being bullied or bought. Russia should feel ashamed and guilt over this, decades to come.
The circle thingy on the stage is there to show what she sees when she sings. She has that condition where you see colors when you hear sounds. I don't remember what it is called.
