Cornelia actually co- wrote it herself with two other people. It comes from a real break up she had last summer and those were the exact words said at the break up. She is now in a relationship with David Zandin, who wrote the song with her. They became a couple recently:)
when children has the right to play whatever instrument for free then the pool of talaneted artist explodes and when some are succeful its gets into the avalance stage which it has
Fun fact, she got brutaly rejected when she applied for the Swedish IDOL show. The jury said "your'r not as good as you think" among other things. And one of the jury members was competing in the same erouvision contest for Sweden,She obviusly won and he came in 2nd i belive. I love her voice and wish her all the best in her career.
I have a feeling that no one apart from her can sing this song and have the intended effect. She had the perfect mix (and fluctuation of) in her tone of wryness and confidence, it's like witnessing someone musically go through the stages of grief... but in reverse. You can feel the acceptance in her voice at first, that's why the first chorus hit so hard and yet feels so /right/, because like you said it didn't feel as predictable based on the song's context clues, it wasn't the buildup before the call for battle crescendos, but the gentle thump of someone putting their mic down to walk away for their own good. Then slowly the song builds and the colors change from the green of acceptance to the white of bargaining/depression to the furious red of the anger and denial. her voice holds a lot of the song's style, at least for me, and manages to match the tone of the "stage" the song is at. The held together with paper tape and yet trudging on despite the cracks still unhealed of the beginning (with a matching crackly voice), to the end which has a furious intensity of red-hot feelings which are too sensitive to poke without bursting, her voice feels like it's bursting at the seams just like her emotions. amazing
I"m late to the party here... but this song. Your face shows how much you enjoy this song and I looooooooooooooooooooove it and i'm here for every minute of it!
Another one late here 😅 I wish I could delete all my memories and feel this "the first time listening" emotions again, absolutely brilliant performance and genius song
In another year when she didn't have to contend against Ukraine and, for some reason that even us in the UK can not understand other than Sam Ryder just being a genuine star of a human being, the UK, she probably would have done it. I liked this song so much that I've bought a copy.
@@Ragachagel She would definitely be top 3 which is a great placement no matter what. Spain, Sweden and The UK were all phenomenal this year, I'd be fine with any of them winning. I do like Ukraine but I don't think it should have won. It's definitely top 10 material though.
Glad you got around to this! I've probably heard this about a hundred times by now, and love it for many reasons, but especially because of her raw vocal tone and the way it works with the lyrics. Anyone who has found the right one at the wrong time recognises the feeling. (For me it meant a couple of tough years and moving to another country, but it was worth it!) I was expecting you to mention some instruments too, the way they are layered to build up intensity and carry through the calmer parts, but maybe that would take a couple more times of hearing this. Now I have this dream of Cornelia singing a ballad with Måneskin. Her voice would be such an interesting match with Damiano's, they all have so much stage charisma, and if they threw some live strings in the mix too..
Thanks. I’ve heard it so many times too now and have so much to say about it! I found this to be more of a reaction than an analysis which I recognised as soon as I stopped filming 😆
@@TheMuserResolute I actually had tears in my eyes at your reaction 😊 I really love this song, and just kept thinking “Aww…he really likes it too!” It gave me such much needed good feels 🙃

A very proffessional evaluation! Like your style! Btw when she was 16, she was kicked out of Swedish Idol, being ”talentless”. Always lived in the musical shadow of her famous rocking father and composing grandma. This Song is her own work. Wish her all luck and success❣️ Go Sweden!
What really matters is how a song makes a person feel. Firstly, the strings are amazing. As for the singing... absolutely superb. The song is beautiful.
I like your smile. It's cute😍 I am from Ukraine and really proud of our Kalush Orchestra💙💛. But this is a gorgeous song and very emotional performance. Super!
She added an extra high note to the last chorus at the Grand Final last week. If you haven't already seen it I recommend you check it out. Combined with the cheering from the audience it makes for a really special moment in my opinion :D
Ok, one more time. This song hits me right in my heart, right in my soft spot. One of the best entries in the last years. She makes me believe in what she's feeling and experience, just like I'm she and she is me. No need to explain, just suck in the feeling what her voice and the song brings to you. No need for more than that. It's great!
Always happy to hear this song and at the same time it makes me sad, makes me cry. Guess that's the both feelings of it. The wrong time and will find the right time with some one else. Maybe. Just a beautiful song.that goes straight into my heart.
Hey there! So lovely to see how this song hit you and hear your take on it. I'm a Swede and have not loved one of our entries this much in a long while. ❤
The harmony used in the strings are the heart of this songs emotion, and the melody of the chorus in my opinion. The backing is very emotional film score like.
This is an absolutely brilliant song and should have done better. I just can't get it out of my head and have to keep playing it over and over again. Why anyone can dislike this is beyond me. From what I've seen Cornelia has such an infectious personality and the way she looks into the camera, draws you in as though you are the only person she's singing it to. Love your reaction at 02:38
We are kind of use to it by now... It's not the first year we get nasty comments and hate and it will probably continue year by year... What's good though is that she will deliever no matter what and that's what is important🤗🙌🙌🙌🙌🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
@@melina7202 Ikr. The most ironic is this: For the past 15-20 years the usual nasty comments are we send the same kind of music and safe choices. We sent something completely different and took risks, it didn't go well (Malena Ernman and Anna Bergendahl). We sent pop songs and ballads. Complaints were it wasn't like Carola and the older Swedish Eurovision song style. Had we sent that complaints had instead been the songs are outdated.... We sent modern pop and dance influenced songs, it did well and gave Sweden two wins the past decade. Complaints were it's nothing original, it's too polished, too manufactured, too perfect with no soul. This year we sent a song that broke away from that. It's not polished and it makes you feel something, we've all been there and experienced heartbreak. But I've seen how the lyrics in the chorus have made people think about departure and farewell with someone else than a partner. A relative or a close friend who died. The negative comments what's bad with the song and what should've been different about it would make it into something too polished, too manufactured, too perfect with no soul. The exact same things that were complained about for the past 5-6 years... The most dumb thing I've seen was someone who said her raspy voice is fake and manufactured. She has a natural rasp in her voice. The second dumbest thing was someone who said the emotions in the song are fake. She co-wrote the song when she was going through a bad break up.
@@lightwalker7123 I now exactly what has been said during the years. And of course some years we have had songs that has not lived up to it and then we should not get the highest score either. I’m running through your old vids now that I’ve discovered your channel, and it seemed like this one got you emotionally a little bit. I heard this after my partner and I decided to end a 13 year relationship, so it hit me pretty hard. Simple and beautiful.
This song was my favourite of all this year and by quite large margin. There were few decent ones but I feel like this one was clearly the best, emotion, lyrics, performance, chorus, buildups... everything was perfect! For example, Great Britains song was quite average to my ears, I have no idea how it got so many votes... It was decent but nowhere near the emotion here.
I'm also Swedish and this song really grows on me more and more over time. I think she both sounds and looks like a young (but modern) Gianna Nanini! So the perfect song to send to Italy. 😊😍
I think everyone can agree that Sweden know how to this Eurovision malarky, so even if you are not the winners, you are top of the table pretty much every time. Some other countries don't seem to have the formula right. For example, after finding out what the lyrics for Serbia's song are about I now believe that she must have written that whilst really drunk.
