    Just from a different perspective - I arrived in Santiago 3 days ago and it was EXTREMELY busy (Ascension Day) and a huge shock to me after 6 weeks of contemplative walking. What with the already mixed feelings of arriving, the heat and the massive crowds followed by almost no sleep in the albergue due to the noise, for me the best thing was to leave so I jumped on the morning bus to Muxia. I felt disappointed that I didn't get my certificate (2 hours wait due to the pilgrim's office being overrun) but after seeing the sea and getting peace, sleep and fresh food I realise that I don't need a piece of paper to know that I achieved my goal which I can get on my next camino and that we all have different ways of dealing with the end of the walk.

    I arrived in Santiago on 24th September after completing my first Camino from Lisbon. I totally agree with your description of the square and how it pulls you back each day you spend in Santiago. It’s a magical place! Already planning to do my second Camino, the Frances, in April/May next year. Loving your channel, which helped me plan before I started, and now gives me many happy memories.

      Thanks Graham for sharing your story! This “feeling” that we get in the Obradoiro square is something which can be only understood once you walk the camino or if you a sensitive human being… but it’s there, every time you are coming back to Santiago! Let me know next year did you had the same “feeling”, maybe we will meet on the way as my Camino season also starts on those days ;) Buen camino

      @caminotellers  8 месяцев назад

      April 24? That’s soooo cool! You will have a great Journey :) when you are in Santiago, ask in your hostel to keep it for you, that would be the easiest way. Other is to actually pay for a locker/storage room, and there are plenty around as they won’t let you in the Cathedral with a big backpack. So around cathedral you will find plenty too!

    Great video; thanks for sharing! Question for you - I’m walking the northern route from Irun; so I still need to get two stamps per day for the last 100 km? I think I’ll run out of room in my credential if two stamps are really needed the final 100 km. Thank you for your help!

    • @caminotellers
      @caminotellers  2 года назад +1

      Hi Max! The north path is amazing!!!! Enjoy :) and don't worry about stamps, they are only to justify the distance, if you miss one or two its not a big deal. What they pay attention is where have you started.. many people only do the last 6 days that's why they need double stamps...
