      Hey Team! * Walking Camino in family is a great joy! *
      I have friends who work and help( hospitaleros) on Camino Ingles and they recommend it, however it has a lot of asphalt, not as much pure nature, which could be a problem to some! Thanks for great feedback and let me know about your plans!

    My first Camino was Portugese route from Porto. I started 30.06 and it took me 6 days to complete at Santiago. Long sunny days and 👣 from AM till late PM. Now I know that next time will walk little bit slower, less kms per day but visiting more places :)

      Thanks for sharing Dorota! this is a common thing with all! We arrive from the busy live, busy streets, metros.. and then jump into the Camino! The one thing I recommend to everyone- for those who read this message before preparing for the first Camino- is to spend a day in the place where you start, sink into the tradition, culture. Synchronise with the Vibe of thee place and the Camino itself! When is your next Camino Dorota?

    Me encanta como cuentas tus experiencias. Se te ve muy relajado y que conoces muy bien el Camino. Tradicionalmente el Camino de Santiago es el Francés y se solía hacer durmiendo en los albergues públicos o privados pero en los que solo se paga la voluntad o muy poco dinero. Lo que ocurre es que está muy masificado y eso ya no se puede hacer. Yo hice una parte del Camino de la Plata en enero y no había absolutamente nadie. Fue espectacular: abriamos y cerrábamos los albergues que eran solo para nosotros

    Thanks for the ideas, planning my first Camino which will be 12-14 days. Could you talk about the details of walking at different times of the year sometime? I plan to go in September. It's hard to find Camino videos specifically about walking in fall months instead of the summer (tips, clothes, albergue differences, etc). It would be a unique video I think

    • @caminotellers
      @caminotellers  2 года назад +4

      Hi! Thanks for reaching out, I'm glad that you are joining Camino family!
      Walking in September hugely depends on how hot is the summer, and how long does it last for, but in general you have to be prepared for more rain( ESPECIALLY Galicia) and lower temperatures on higher Altitude( O'cebreiro, Foncebadon).The humidity will affect the field of view, as fogs will apear so a headlight is a MUST! Days are shorter so maybe don't start to early as one "Old Timer" once told me- Why would anyone walk in Galician Forests in the dark?
      I will be making the video about that in following weeks, so stay connected ;) hugs

      The French Camino has two or three places pf higher hills but they aren’t dangerous cliffs. If you prefer something much easier, Portuguese way from Porto has only one hill, in ponte de Lima, but it’s barely 30 min of climbing. Totally plain would be a English way! Hugs

    Good insights based on experience. Perhaps the question might be which Camino choses the person. I always felt a pull or thread of connection that attracted me to walk my Caminos and when the time was right, I just packed my rucksack and off I went. To be fair, it's much easier for me because I live in Spain.

    My concerns will be the bedbugs I hear so much about. I have a bug phobia. Some say they have not experienced bedbugs, but some have. Not certain if it makes a difference where you stay. People carry them from place to place.

    • @caminotellers
      @caminotellers  Год назад

      Hello Emy, yes some people never experienced it (Erica for instance), it's not so frequent, but when it happens usually they close the place where it happens to disinfect everything and avoid it spreading more. Even if it happens is not fatal, just follow all the instructions to remove it from your clothes and backpack!

      Jacqueline! how are you? Every season is special, and winter is more solitary and phisicly more demanding( could be). Will you walk French Way? the Pirenees pass will be probably close so you will have to walk around. Many of the albergues will be closed but it chouldn't disencourage you, as it might actually be a positive thing... but yes, snow should be there.

      @caminotellers  Год назад +1

      Hi Sabine! First and the most important reason I didn't include this Camino is ... that I didn't do it personally- which leads me to the second point- most of the pilgrims complain about the excess of asphalt road... Let me check it on my own and I ll make a new vid. What is your experience? any advice?

    • @Expatkiwipeter
      @Expatkiwipeter Год назад

      @@caminotellers Very true ! There is a LOT of asphalt, but as it was my first I didn't have anything to compare it to. And if you look, in places you can find side roads running parallel that are much quieter, but without really adding much mileage. Plus, the first suggested section - to Neda - is really short and easy, a great way to start. I hadn't seen your or Nadine's (Nadine Walks) channels then, I've learnt a lot from you guys - thanks!
