Have the Linton Heritage + stands in Mahogany... For this price tag, nothing can't beat them and most of it, they sounds amazing and they are so beautiful in my listening room ! Ok, purist will go to... a made in china speaker with a union jack sticker on the back, but you should hear them before you judge. A crazy good speaker for the price, you can't go wrong.

Small 4" woofer "minimus" style speakers etc qualify as world's smallest three way speaker. You can fit about 10 inside the shower Denton.

Im still happy with my pair of wharfedale w70e's (rosedale).
15 inch bass 5 inch mid 1 inch tweeter.
I have a pair of super lintons W30d, a pair of oringinal Meltons and a pair of w20d dentons. Ive a had dovedale 3's aswell.
    All very good vintage speakers.
The later linton 3xp im not a fan of, i sold them on as people seem to like them.

Looks like they use the same tweeter with Denton 85 and Linton 85.
I hope Wharfedale will change the tweeters on this Super Denton.

LOL...People have no clue that extending the cabinet out past the front baffle causes all kinds of diffraction issues.
Dumb design in that respect, though it's clearly obvious that Comaeu is trying to keep the past "alive" with the Denton name.

They make it work by using the grill. But it's less ideal than a round over edge cabinet

You're the dumb one here, wrongly assuming loudspeaker designer Peter Comeau wouldn't be aware of this..
The Wharfedale Lintons 85th, Dentons and Dovedales heritage series loudspeakers he has designed, all have the same beveled edges and therefor all got a speakergrill with a specific contoured integrated plate which negotiates that effect.
It's not a secret but instructed by Wharfedale and communicated by Comeau as well in many occasions, that the grills are supposed to be in place for best (intended) result.

The bigger/wider cabinets also have advantages.
Wharfedale has plenty of modern design loudspeakers. There's a market for classic/retro products that fit in certain interiors and people's tastes and furniture. The Lintons 85 are the most sold model of the brand..
The current Dentons, Lintons and Dovedales all have grills that compensate your 'refraction issue'. Let your ears be the judge, I'd say, not your prejudices.

ha ha it goes down to 3.4 ohm an he talks about 8 ohm and being an easy load

      @stananthalus 6 месяцев назад +1

I'm pretty sure he said nominal 6 ohm load (and a swing down to 3.4 on that sort of nominal is not unusual). It is obviously not a really easy 8 ohm, but one wouldn't really expect such an easy drive from a small three way like this.

      Not unusual
