SB means Sound Break and 19 is the sum of South Korea and Philippines' area codes. 63 for the PH and 82 for Korea. So 6+3+8+2. You see SB19 started as trainees from a Korean company. Ilaw is one of the most difficult songs to sing, specifically Pablo's part because of his high notes with grit which makes it not an easy one to be covered by anyone who can simply sing but doesn't have the power and grit his his/her voice.

Appreciate you looking into the lyrics. ILAW (Light) song created by their leader Pablo. A song to tell what they felt and wanted to say before because as artists they only talk to each other. My favourite songs are NYEBE (Snow) and Liham (Letter). MAPA, and I WANT YOU(English song) are great too. Their official videos will have the English lyrics on cc. Note SB19 debuted with a ballad called Tilaluha but they are not just singers :) If you look into GENTO, Bazinga, Mana, What?, and Crimzone. WYAT (Where You AT), *Moonlight, *READY, and Love Goes are fully in English too. (*newest songs) SB19 stands for SoundBreak19 and they are also called by their fans "Mahalima" an endearment name. SoundBreak19 stands for breaking the norm, breaking into the music scene. The 19 has a past meaning with their old company but we can say it is the number on which they acted on their dreams. Thank you for reacting to our Ppop kings sb19. It is such a beautiful song and each of the boys’ uniquely different vocals make it so much more raw and emotional. They are very versatile and they tackle so many genres . Please react to more of their songs . I interpret it as depression and the lines about being in their own prison i think resonate with a lot of people. Also the line about the door that is already open. Sometimes we just need to reach out to those who are going through tough times and just as you said be open to listen and not judge. Sb means sound break . The boys goal is to introduce Filipino music to the world ; their own unique sound which they write , produce and pretty much have control of what music they put out . The fandom’s name is A’tin pronounced 18 so without 18 there won’t be a 19.
When they harmonize it's the most beautiful thing. The lyrics message "Why can't you try opening the door that's not even close?" "Who can lend an ear to my whispers?" It's a raw and powerful song that can easily relate to most people today.

It is that message as you said. I recommend NYEBE, it has a Visualizer MV with English lyrics. Songs like Liham, and Mapa are great works too. If you like to hear their debut song Tilaluha the Round Festival live performance is a nice start. The Who is SB19 song will be their song What? and the widely known song is GENTO.

RUclips’s algorithms led me to stumble across your video about SB19. Thank you very much for taking the time to react to them and the insights you shared about the song. Always happy to welcome new admirers of the group, so do pardon the length of this reply. Pablo (the member with the long hair and brown leather jacket in the video) is their ‘leader’ and writes/produces about 95% of their songs. He has said he writes about what they know - so ILaw is a bit about their experience as artists, who only have each other to lean on. Pablo is an amazing lyricist, and many of their songs/titles/lyrics have dual meaning. He writes with depth (in both English and Tagalog; note, even for native Tagalog speakers, his use of the language is exceptional) and emotion. As a few here have mentioned, the group’s strength are their ballads and harmonies. But they are more popular outside of the Philippines for their hype songs - Gento, Crimzone and Bazinga specifically. While all can sing (as ILaw shows), all five are actually adept at rapping as well. You have had the benefit of watching them perform sitting down… but they are your ultimate full package. They are dubbed as ‘Vocal monsters’ as their live performances far outshines their recorded tracks. And of note, 4 of the 5 members (Pablo is the exception) started off as dancers - which should already suggest how a full, live performance (live vocals + choreo) would be. Hope the nuggets of information I shared would be enough to entice you to check out more of and from them. If I can suggest - try Gento (on Wish, just to see a hype song performance) + a RUclips Fan Fest performance of Where You At (live singing in English with choreo). Just a thought.

Thank you for reacting to our Ppop kings sb19. It is such a beautiful song and each of the boys’ uniquely different vocals make it so much more raw and emotional. They are very versatile and they tackle so many genres . Please react to more of their songs . I interpret it as depression and the lines about being in their own prison i think resonate with a lot of people. Also the line about the door that is already open. Sometimes we just need to reach out to those who are going through tough times and just as you said be open to listen and not judge. Sb means sound break . The boys goal is to introduce Filipino music to the world ; their own unique sound which they write , produce and pretty much have control of what music they put out . The fandom’s name is A’tin pronounced 18 so without 18 there won’t be a 19.
When they harmonize it's the most beautiful thing. The lyrics message "Why can't you try opening the door that's not even close?" "Who can lend an ear to my whispers?" It's a raw and powerful song that can easily relate to most people today.

Pablo (the member with the long hair and brown leather jacket in the video) is their ‘leader’ and writes/produces about 95% of their songs. He has said he writes about what they know - so ILaw is a bit about their experience as artists, who only have each other to lean on.
Pablo is an amazing lyricist, and many of their songs/titles/lyrics have dual meaning. He writes with depth (in both English and Tagalog; note, even for native Tagalog speakers, his use of the language is exceptional) and emotion.
As a few here have mentioned, the group’s strength are their ballads and harmonies. But they are more popular outside of the Philippines for their hype songs - Gento, Crimzone and Bazinga specifically. While all can sing (as ILaw shows), all five are actually adept at rapping as well.
You have had the benefit of watching them perform sitting down… but they are your ultimate full package. They are dubbed as ‘Vocal monsters’ as their live performances far outshines their recorded tracks. And of note, 4 of the 5 members (Pablo is the exception) started off as dancers - which should already suggest how a full, live performance (live vocals + choreo) would be.
Hope the nuggets of information I shared would be enough to entice you to check out more of and from them.
If I can suggest - try Gento (on Wish, just to see a hype song performance) + a RUclips Fan Fest performance of Where You At (live singing in English with choreo). Just a thought.

Thanks for this RV! I'm wondering where you got the translation from. Usually, translations for SB19 songs are inaccurate because Pablo uses metaphors and double entendres. The most accurate translation for this song ILAW would be the lyric video on their YT channel.
