Such a beautiful song, very relatable since so many people nowadays feel like they have to be "on" all the time in front of other people, & Pablo's line where he says he has to rest & turn "off" the light temporarily is so emotional. Ilaw could also mean being in the spotlight since as public figures they are used to maintaining a cheerful image, all the while hoping people can see past the glamour & get to know them as they really are (simple, humble, goofy, family-oriented, etc).

Yes i remember GIDKIDDAD my fave sb19 reactors pointed that out first about Pablo's vocals having 2 unique voices and even compared his voice to another famous vocalist damn i cant remmber the singer. Their reactions and comments on sb19 are so informative they are so knowledgeable about music and producing..now they are base in manila managing ppop talents.

Pablo definitely adds quite a flavour to their songs because his voice is so unique. And his voice sounds like it has its own reverb lol. Its very interesting BUT not to take away from the rest of the boys. They are all phenomenal singers!! Pablo is the one that caught my attention thats why i ended up following them and became an A’tin. Love the 5!

This song specifically a treatment for a troubled soul, depressed mind, brokenhearted, unstable emotion, identity crisis, and sometimes a day today dilemma over finances, "Ilaw" or light can be interpreted your miracle guiding anyone to battle the darkness that lurks inside us, to stay sane even if voices can't be heard in the light. It's one of few complex songs that I can tune into through humming and it's truly a medication during my low moments.

If you check out the lyrics of Ilaw, it is very emotional, like those negative self-talk, those feelings of being alone but you can't get your thoughts out because you feel no one will get you. It's so deep that when I started to dissect the lyrics, I could never not get emotional whenever it plays. When it plays back-to-back with Mapa, I'm dead. I just cry for hours.

The fact that I heard and became a fan of them is because of their "Gento" but their songs like Mana, Hanggang sa Huli, ikako, Ilaw and etc. made me realized that I want to stay in this group like there's no turning back or forever and I love them all!!. I like all genres except ballads. I'm not into ballad songs before, It's not that I don't like it but I know myself that I cried so fast whenever I heard ballad songs but because of SB19, I always listened to their songs whatever genres they had. I'm always amazed by these 5 handsome guys. They are good in singing rapping dancing, they even compose and produce their own songs. Esp Pablo he can sing any kind of genre, very versatile singer and have unique voice.

@3:07 I think Justin is underrated because his confidence in singing bloomed late. I remember hearing him the first time and thinking his tone would be perfect for musicals and was surprised to find out he thought he would get assigned lines because Pablo had to. But I noticed in subsequent videos that while he performed well unless the camera was on him, he kind of disappeared, like his presence seemed to fade. But in the Pagtatag era, Pablo entrusted Justin with more challenging lines and he's slowly coming into his own. His confidence will build, and he'll have that consistent presence that the other four members already have.
To add, Justin being underrated is a study in what confidence can do for you. For example when they perform on Wish, he's sandwiched between Stell and Ken - owners of the extreme ends of the SB19 range spectrum, which on its own is already an attention grabber, but given their skills and the confidence, mastery of their abilities bring, Justin got overshadowed. Even in this song Ilaw, Ken's lines are short but he sticks to people's minds. And I think that's because he executes his lines well and with so much confidence that his presence is bigger than the lines he sings. And the same with Josh; he's not a natural singer and has improved immensely during this era. But even in previous eras, he's managed to grab and retain attention because he can project confidence and charisma, boosting his presence and not getting forgotten. Stell and Pablo, on the other hand, are so overwhelmingly talented - and recognize their talent - that they automatically grab and retain attention.

it's pronounced as i (ih) - la ( like how you would pronounce lalala) - w and you're right about justin being underrated. he improved so much and his role in every of their harmonies is very important. people always point out other members because of how low and high their vocals are but justin sets the neutral tone and foundation of each of the melodies that they do. someone needs to do the normal/neutral melody in order for others to have a note to work on to to be able to magnify these melodies and make it sound fuller. that's what justin is doing and he's doing a very good ,stable job at it which is very hard to achieve because he has to do it on top of every harmony and new melody that the members added. i was a part of a choir and it's very hard to keep the foundation note stable because it can be confusing ones all the harmonies would be added. it needs a lot of focus and practice. if the foundation of a harmony crumbles it would sound way too off . justin deserves more credit because he's doing it like it's walk in the park 😅
He really does deserve more credit. He’s just now starting to blossom into his own character
