Good morning everyone! We are already receiving several messages that we reacted to the "wrong" version of MAPA. This is the link that was recommended to us and we were excited to see Ben&Ben were a part of it as they are on our "to-do" list as well. We were under the impression that THIS was the original version. This happens sometimes as reactors - we get confused by comments and suggestions. MAPA is an all time favorite song in our country because it conveys the message of gratitude and love for our parents. The tearjerker part for me is the line: "ako na" (it's my turn). This line means after all you've done for me, mom and dad, it's my turn to take care of you. It's an absolute tearjerker for Filipinos who are very family oriented.

Pablo is such a great lyricist and composer who creates beautiful songs that make a history especially to Philippines music industry. They just don’t do POP genre anything and everything. That’s how versatile SB19.

oh man their ballads are soo good! Ilaw, Liham, Mapa etc. even if you can't understand the language the melodies and lyrics are so good. these songs are pretty much openeing people's eyes on their skills!! and Pablo pretty much wrote all their songs. it's the Nase dude you were reading when looking at info :)
This song MAPA is written by Pablo himself, his real name is John Paulo Nase. Him and Stell thought of writing a song for parents, mama and papa, thus came MAPA. The funny thing is that they were doing their laundry while talking about it.😆

Ben&Ben is a 9 piece folk band. Mapa is an original song of SB19 written and composed by Pablo, the leader of SB19. This collaboration was done a few months after Mapa was released. You guys should listen to the original Mapa, they have a Wishbus USA performance of this. I personally prefer the original version than the band version, very different vibe. Yes all 5 members of SB19 are present here, to distinguish the members of each band, all members that have instruments are part of Ben&Ben. This performance was done in one take :)

Thank you for your RV❤ Both SB19 and Ben&Ben are favorites of mine. The song MAPA is an SB19 original, composed by Pablo and his complete name is John Paulo Nase. He composes most of SB19 songs. The original lyric version of MAPA was the one that led me to SB19, truly touching, sentimental and feels like a warm hug that I miss from my parents. This band version with Ben&Ben is also wonderful since it adds a more celebratory feel to the song. Still has that warmth but it has joyful parts. They have another collaboration, look for the song 'Kapangyarihan'.
And yes all of the SB19 members were in the band version performance❤.

Ben and Ben members usually all of them plays instruments as u can see and their signature is that their songs are usually sounds folk songs and SB19 members most know how to play musical instruments but they don’t usually do that during performance bec they usually dance and sing
Dig deeper to SB19 and you will know how versatile their voices, singing low and high notes was easy peasy.😊

I enjoy both groups. This is a cheerful collab version of SB19’s original, which never fails to bring a tear to my eye. The other commenters have pointed out the play on words in the song. The Wish Bus U.S.A version is okay but may i urge you to isten to the lyric video instead? You’ll appreciate each members’ timbre and focus on the meaning of the song (though you won’t get to see who’s singing each line). It’s an excellent recording of the emotional tribute so tender and full of love for their parents. The English translation isnt bad, though it loses a bit of poetry perfectly conveyed in Pablo’s lyricism. Oh and the deceptively simple animation creates an enriching viewing experience that supports the message of the song in such a lovely way!
The original lyrics have an undeniable tone of respect and filial love/piety that is embedded in the language and is hard to express in English. The song hits us hard because parents’ sacrificial care and children’s reverence for their elders is very much valued in Filipino culture, and is something many of us seniors want to cling to especially in these rapidly changing and challenging times.

pablo , leader of sb19 made the songs. they manifested to have a collab with their idol BEN n BEN. and this happens 2 yrs after they met face to face. the MAPA was composed by PAblo when the group are living together and doing their laundry and misses their own family. and also to pay tribute to their parent.

The original Mapa ia more emotional Wish Bus USA has subs so it is more convenient for you. This collab version is more upbeat and happy like a family thing one of their best collabs. SB19 idolizes this band so much you can see how happy they are. SB19 member Josh started the song followed by Justine then Ben&Ben the twins. Pablo and Stell followed. Last member Ken sang the 2nd part of the 2nd verse.

I think you have to check their Nyebe, Liham, Love Goes acoustic (extended), Mana YTFF performance, WYAT, Acer songs, Tilaluha and Hanggang Sa Huli, so you can see their versatility. Even their ads collab songs with Dunkin, Pepsi, Acer, Gcash, etc are beautiful. I love the Round Festival 2021 performances especially and the TM Pusuan performances.
They also collaborate with the orchestra singing Mapa as well.😊

What a great RV, I enjoyed rewatching this with you! Pablo (John Paulo Nase), leader of SB19, wrote and composed the song and co-produced the original version, which was performed by SB19. The band version with Ben&Ben was arranged by Ben&Ben. They are a folk band, and they did infuse their style into the song. Originally, Pablo wanted the song to have a choir but couldn't do it because they recorded it the middle of the pandemic. I guess he got what he wished for, sort of, in the band version. These boys deserve all the success and the blessings they have. They came from nothing and yet, their feet remained firmly on the ground.
They had their Pagtatag World Tour last year in the US and Canada and they will continue in Dubai on April 24 and Japan on April 29, before closing it thru Pagtatag Finale here in Manila on May 18 and 19, coinciding with Gento's 1st anniversary.

It’s the other way around. SB19 was the one who reached out to Ben&Ben specifically for this song “Mapa.” They envisioned this song to be performed with a band. Actually it's not the original but I love both versions. This one is like more happier version for me like celebration type makes you smile while listening. While the original is more emotional like go straight to your heart brings back to your childhood or if you're a parent makes you emotional too because for your children to appreciate what you do for them is very heart warming. I think you're referring to Ilaw, pronounced as Ee-lao. It's a beautiful song. Mapa is an SB19 original, and they collaborated with Ben & Ben for a new sound to their original song.
