  • I thought I'd try out the Ostirus by messing around a bit with some of my classic Hardstyle presets that I made with the TI2. It sounds fantastic and this is pretty much a dream come true.
    It really says something when a bunch of coders/developers cares more about the Virus series than Access themselves do. Many thanks to the developers behind this project for this outstanding work!
    Before you ask:
    Where did you find the ROM? - Google is your friend, seek and you shall find.
    Where can I find the presets used in the video? - Nowhere, these are my own custom presets.
    Are your presets for sale? - No.
    If you want to support my channel, you can visit my Payhip shop and purchase soundbanks for a variety of soft synths: payhip.com/eye...

    To everyone concerned about cpu, you can see at the top center of fl studio that its using 15%, go to settings and set the audio latency to 1024 or higher, its might use much less then 15% which is not that much compared to some vsti synths that use much more then this. set the cpu on the ostirus settings to default, not by daw. Trust me, i could run more then 15 instances on Osirus, which i think should be almost the same with Ostirus.

      This is pritty much hardware quality, i can here the difference, its as close as it can get to the hardware. By the way, the fx onboard are crazy good and can be used just like any vst fx you use on you DAW. Dont forget that in the hardware version, there is alot involved, components, soundcard etc. I here people say its not the same, ofcourse not.

      @EyezerProductionz  5 месяцев назад +2

      I've been getting audio sparkles, but in general it seems to work fine. You can reduce the DSP clock, which I think is a feature used to lower CPU usage (but at the cost of a lower voice count). Don't quote me on that though.

    Imagine them emulating the JP8080 next

    • @EyezerProductionz
      @EyezerProductionz  Месяц назад

      It would be awesome for sure but I see various issues with this. Firstly, Roland is a big corporation, you don't want to mess with a big corporation.
      As much as I love these emulators, at the end of the day they are glorified warez. There is isn't much of a difference between using a cracked VST and using these emulators without proper authorization. A lot of people will use these emulators without proper authorization, which may become a problem in the future. Roland would most likely never accept an emulator of their classic VA synth, since they could just replicate it themselves and sell it on Roland Cloud.
      Another problem is the JP-8000/8080 uses different chips (custom made for those synths afaik, but don't quote me on that). An emulator for JP-8000 would have to be made from scratch and it would most likely only work for JP-8000/8080. DSP563K was used in numerous synths, which simplifies things.

    • @EyezerProductionz
      @EyezerProductionz  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks Mandy! I assume you mean Ostirus because Osirus (Virus B/C) is free already. To buy Ostirus, send a donation, minimum 20£ (GBP), to this Paypal: www.paypal.com/paypalme/dsp56300
      Then join their discord (you can find it on their blog) and join the #i've donated and tell them you've donated and give them the Paypal transaction id. Although this plugin will be publicly available eventually, so you can either donate or wait. But you'll still need the ROM, which I can't share a link to due to copyright. You'll have to look for it yourself.

    • @EyezerProductionz
      @EyezerProductionz  4 месяца назад +2

      Ostirus is much better than Viper in terms of sound. Don't get me wrong, Viper is great but at the end of the day, it is an emulation that runs custom code. Ostirus runs the same ROM as the Virus hardware does, the sound is identical. But Ostirus still has some issues (same with the real Virus TI2 using the Virus control plugin) with audio crackles (at least on my system). Another downside with Ostirus is you can't use it commercially because the ROM is copyrighted. Perhaps if you own a real Virus TI, it may be allowed but I can't say for certain.
