Not sure if that math is right, but I love you for it.
+Khaymen Brock I did the math too. Divide 365 days by 4 day cycles and you get 91.25, the amount of dollars he would need in a year to survive. Then divide the funding goal of $40,000 by 91.25, and the result is about 438.25, an estimate of the amount of years he could survive under the absurd logic that $1 dollar can sustain you for 4 entire days.

I never understood why these people can't treat RUclips as a hobby, instead of trying to make it your main source of income.
Insanity. They're not even that passionate about their "hobby" the first fucker has no channel and the second one has a channel but has no content. Like if they truly thought this was a hobby they would have something up. If their hobby is just playing games how about you don't even pretend like you're going to make and upload videos. It's just amazing. I mean I'm no money guru but damn these guys are idiots.
I have more videos then both of these channels put together, and honestly I could really improve everything with a hundred more dollars or something like that.
But unlike them I plan to wait till I have that kind of money.
Because they see succesful youtubers and the amout of money they make and think to themselves "hey I can do like that edoubbbez guy that's easy" but they don't know the amout of work involved behind the scene and shit.

What also pisses me off is all these people must have brand new, top of the range, latest technology to do their videos too. Have they never ever considered using used stuff or older electronics? They're far far cheaper. Hell, most of my equipment is either second hand, stuff I've bought broken and repaired or cheap Chinese imports (even my monitor is an old HDTV i got in a Best Buy closing down sale 4 years ago) and I'm making stuff for TV and doing commissioned work with it.
These things are tools, having the best won't make you the best.

Man even the best top notch configuration of the 2017 iMac costs $13K. So the best gaming rig + recording setup for a beginner *cannot* cross that amount.

If you go back and check out these kickstarter gaming channels non of them have ever done anything Jacob Van Der Merwe has 1 sub and 1 video copied from somewhere else, and unstoppable 360's channel doesn't even exist anymore, obviously the usual route of hard work and regular posting was too much like hard work for them.
Idubbbz is actually helping me start my adult life succesfully, because I won't do any stupid fucking shit and things I didn't think of is brought up by Idubbbz which greatly helps me out. I am happy about this. Thank you Idubbbz for existing.

Like I'm a broke little high school boy and I just do it as a hobby it doesn't have to be a lifestyle. You don't need fancy equipment, I only have a headset and Twitch (and a console), and even though I am not successful I have fun doing it and that is what matters.

Glad to see more of Kickstarter Crap. I do love the double feature, but I think you should script your endings like how Epic Meal Time scripts their outro. Maybe have a template/list for how you criticize each one of these kick starter campaigns and that way The structure is more consistent? I usually want to see more details on these pathetic campaigns without having to look them up on my own, but with your rundown on each campaign I feel like you just go with the flow and pick what you like to talk about (which is perfectly fine), I just think maybe a consistent criticism structure per video would be more interesting. Either way, love the reviews, keep it up. :)

Your thing at 5:54 still rings today. I know someone who had to quit something that he was so talented at because he wanted to do more Let's Plays and livestreams; his aim is to do it full time. Not sure if he will in the near future because he has about 800 or so subs on his channel. And his Let's Plays are just him playing some game and just giving vanilla responses. For someone like me who wants to do music full-time, I know that I gotta start out part-time. Even though I just released an EP, I need to keep doing this part-time as like you said, having a full-time job will give you the funds to pursue your passion full-time. And this person I know has no job.
Part of the problem with these youtube starters (and this country in general) is this blind "all or nothing" mindset. They have to have the best equipment and nothing else will do. They have to quit their jobs and lose a stable income and devote all their time to make videos. They need us to pay off their debts and buy all this expensive stuff for them or else there is no way they can make videos.
Have some fucking pride, people. It's just tacky and makes you look like a fool when you beg, or not even beg and just assume we will pay for you to do something that you have no experience, no concept what it all entails, and nothing to show us that you are up to it.
It would be like me making a kickstarter to fund my own skyscraper despite having no experience, tools, or even a blueprint beyond a vague concept sketch or simply the idea of a building. No one in their right mind would fund that, now would they?

I don't understand why everybody thinks being a new RUclipsr is easy, if you wanna make content that's actually entertaining now, then you have to spend hours on it.
