New Durango is a hellava SUV. I've replaced my Expy and love the build quality and overall performance of the Durango. I have the V6 Pentastar and if has quick acceleration and good MPG. Balanced rear wheel drive.
Very accurate description. 2018 added Apple Carplay and Android Auto. 2020 or 2021 added wireless.. plus bigger higher res screen and newer version of Uconnect. I have a 2018 Citadel with V8 AWD.. 2 speed locking center diff in V8 versions for pretty good offroading.
I own a Durango and I LOVE IT! Only thing I don't like is that I got the 2wd version and wish I'd spent a little more for the AWD instead because in that weather she's reviewing in it tends to fishtail a lot and I regret not going for the AWD variant. I'm not too crazy about the infotainment system either, I don't like fiddling with screen buttons when I'm trying to drive. I much prefer it if it came with actual knobs to control the a/c. I also don't like the knob transmission, it looks really gay. I wish it had the same one as the previous generation or even better the one that goes on the old style pickups on the side of the steering wheel. I have the v6 too and I recently did a move crosscountry and I was amazed at how that pentastar was capable of towing and it didn't even feel weak. Another plus is for the size, this thing gives pretty amazing mpg and it's super comfortable and handles curves very well! I can't say enough about this car, I love it to death!
the Cherokee is still plagued with plastics on the dash and doors. sure, the seats have optional leather, but sadly the price difference does not justify the means. also P.S: seems like you have never driven an SUV with air suspension. just because air suspension sounds like riding on a cloud in name because "air" does not make it so. many air suspension set ups like on the RAM ride harsher than traditional suspensions. just food for thought.
The more mature the vehicle, the more refined it becomes. When you get an all-new vehicle, you will have the early adopters issues. This one is due for a refresh soon, so that may change. It's a similar story with many Audi's. Not much change in the last decade so the vehicle has been refined.
Great review, Nicole! The Durango seems like a pretty solid offering in its class. The interior, while not the most luxurious, is adequately styled for its class. The exterior styling on the other hand, in my eyes, is amongst one of the best looking offerings. Having both a wide and planted stance, and enough character lines to make you want to take a second glance! Fuel economy isn't one of the Durango's strong points, especially when considering some of its 4-cylinder offerings, but this vehicle will definitely out tow most of its other competitors. That is if that is high on your list! It is a shame Dodge doesn't make this vehicle safe enough to make top safety scores. Even though; the structure of the vehicle is becoming slightly long on the tooth, that is no excuse for average safety ratings. Especially since, most people use these vehicles as family haulers (like you mentioned). Keep up the great work, Nicole! You did a nice job reviewing the Durango. You kept the video very concise, while not being underly informative! ;-) -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"
DriveAndBeDriven I'm not worried about that as most modern cars&truck are having softer crush zones, I'm comfortable driving a '90 Civic with no airbags or abs😅. My brother crashed it twice and the car is still relatively intact just rough on the outside.
Niassan Pathfinder has a more elegant interior?? I think not. One of the only few reasons I do not buy from many foreign auto makers, including Honda Toyota Nissan, and Lexus.....They just can't seem to get their interiors to look good.
She has no idea was she is talking about. I have owned multiple Durangos and love them! They are great looking and properly equipped. All Durangos come with a third row (there is no 5 passenger option). Apple car play and android auto is not offered in many competitors so what is she complaining for?
I don't think she was complaining just pointing out deal breakers for some buyers. Women do consider safety when purchasing vehicles or at least the market guides them in that direction. And the comparison of interior looks is fair, the Nissan's interior looks better but the overall design is far better in the Durango. But you'll just need to be aware safety is not the best in the Durango, and there is no apple or andriod auto, if its not a factor for you then buy the Durango it's a great purchase.
This summer I'm getting into a new SUV. The Durango RT is top on my list strongly followed by the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk or Summit V8 model. I drove the 2016 Durango Rt and Damn wanted to break my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder on the spot . I hate my 2014 Pathfinder as it's not a Pathfinder at all other then the badges. I can say that as I have owned 3 Pathfinders and the 2013- current model are the very worse Pathfinders in history for a long list of reasons. The 2017 Pathfinder is exactly the same with a new front end which was not the issue with the current model.
I just got a 17 Durango R/T a few days ago. I didn't want the Black wheels so part of the deal was they had them magnaplated chrome. 2nd row Captains chairs and mini console , towing package, sunroof, Vice White paint, 8.4NaV, got a great deal. I named my price to at least 4 dealerships and said call me when you can do it. They did finally. I was in no hurry. $41K.
I want a White RT with Red or Black interior. I'm cool with both. I also want the Black out Package as I like the Black wheels. I want a Sunroom and a Tow Package. 8.4 U connect and I'm cool. I actually prefer the Bench Back seat as I like to drop it and use the extra cargo space.
Daniel Hunsinger did you ever get yours ?? If you did, can you post a quick experience review on the driving Dynamics? Does it feel like a big heavy suv or more nimble ?
Nice to have a CUV that does not standout! That mean you can go everywhere and go unnoticed. Car will not get stolen, damage or people go for joy ride when you do valet parking.
Is FCA reliability still crap? Really like this and the Grand Cherokee but I can't justify buying one of these if it'll stay in the shop than on the road
I guess if you wanted a 4wd you would buy something else??? not a mention of what is available in this test. All about seating and electronics. Kinda sad...
vitaliy goldin Absolutely not! She was very annoying about this apple car play....'like that shit does not matter. She just was complaining about "features" that's not equipped on the damn car. Very annoying!
Just took my family from a town and country to this. There are 5 of us and we love it
THIS IS BEST INFORMATIVE VIDEO FOR A VEHICAL EVER....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Oh man can't get past how damn sexy this SUV is.

NutNbutSpeed how is the reliability
This is the only vehicle made by Dodge that I would drive
ironically this is the best product Chrysler makes
marginally better interior, this offers more room, better ride, and comes in at a much better price. and no shit FCA owns them.

Thanks, got me on the safety , love the look but how safe is it? Just found out ! Great review
Thumbs up because you were listening to gettin' jiggy wit it
Do you have to sign up for a yearly subscription for the Bluetooth and other features or are they free.
quiet! i have a 2017 citadel anodized and i love it!! i had a 2014 highlander and it was crap.
Why did you not like your Highlander?
I have qx60 and same thing ,i dont like it
Honestly dodge has really come a long way. And honestly this would be the model I chose! Except it would be white with a black leather interior!
At 5:43 is me when I have to tech my mom the easter eggs on her 2011 dodge durango
What about the front sensors ?? Its not equipped !!
This is a nice Durango review
i like the durango, but i have one trouble there is no cd/dvd player- it is a must in all family transportation

What about a loaded Citadel isn't luxurious? Just curious.
Remember, no matter how new, the safest device in your car is you. This is Broderick Crawford saying, see you next week.

Very Cool man, Can't wait to get mine.
Daniel Hunsinger did you ever get yours ?? If you did, can you post a quick experience review on the driving Dynamics? Does it feel like a big heavy suv or more nimble ?
Fuel economy ain't that bad. I have the V8 AWD and consistently beat both city and highway ratings.

wow make want a different vehicle now ..what about the grand Cherokee Trailhawk... I always wanted one now I'm thinking the safety suck
Is FCA reliability still crap? Really like this and the Grand Cherokee but I can't justify buying one of these if it'll stay in the shop than on the road
Ghostface GZA I've had mine almost 3 years haven't had a problem yet
We have a 2015 RT model and really like it. The V8 burble is especially satisfying......... MPG be damned. :p
Good review
Great review, thanks!
PLEASE DO THE 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE!!!!
I'd want a GT .. perfect for winter.. AWD, 7 pass
most comprehensive review I have seem
mike ward Have you not seen Savagegeese?
I love Dodge ❤❤❤😍
Looks nice..
wonderful car ,
but marketing the company in country where I live is bad
and perhaps services as well
Good Lookin'!
Brand loyalty would have me buy this in lieu of its safety rating but driving it very cautiously.
Well Done
You should review a yaris! not a damn durango
I guess if you wanted a 4wd you would buy something else??? not a mention of what is available in this test. All about seating and electronics. Kinda sad...
cale szczescie ze nie przypomina audi vw skoda seat
Why did they let her review this car?
I thought she did good
vitaliy goldin Absolutely not! She was very annoying about this apple car play....'like that shit does not matter. She just was complaining about "features" that's not equipped on the damn car. Very annoying!
ok sir
It's a midsize suv.
Yeah the Durango is much prettier than the Ford Explorer or many other crossovers.....
Not all of us ant a "family" vehicle, just good looks and great performance without the ugly jeep front end.
śliczny
She really irritated my soul...
no one cares about saftey.
stop the bs, like the challenger? stop the lies, it;s uglyyyyyy, that's why it's NOT selling
SXT + is your best bet and I wouldn't buy one.
