I am more invested in this series than literally anything on Netflix or Disney+. I'm on the edge of my seat calculating Iron capacity with every number.

Nothing you can do now but wait - until the Neeeexxt episode lol [Insert the dragon ball funimation narrator voice with those lines like "Will they be able to" yada yada] Names of federation/coalition/translation code, not "set in stone", just a spur of the moment naming. Very subject to final say from Michael :). Shoot, it should become a book series - quick, someone get on it and, of course firstly, send it to Michael :P
One small way of preserving iron is to NOT repair the walls but replace them with bots. Bots will have much lower chance of death when they will not fly over flame. On the other side you will waste more stone which you already have in excessive amount already. And you won't waste iron on repair packs or bots.
I was going to write something similar, then saw your comment. Although I see it more as a “save robot frames” than a “save iron” solution, as repair packs are cheap. Still. With a double wall and wall storage in the middle, it would make for safer wall maintenance, at the low cost of stone.
Cheaper is cheaper. It is very important to take the smallest opportunity even if it benefits you a tiny bit. Especially when you are on the edge of losing
Hmm, but can you automate wall replacement safely? I imagine you need to manually place and delete walls. I think micromanaging bots is not an option if you need to be elsewhere on the map. Or is there other way around?

This 18 minute episode was more engaging than Jurassic World Dominion which I just fought my way trough despite it costing 185 million dollars to make... Next episode cant come fast enough!
I've watched almost every series you have uploaded and I must say, this one is on a next level. The suspense of actually running out of resources instead of just not producing enough is a whole new side of factorio that I've never seen before. I really hope the battle for iron will be as grand as I imagine. Love from Sweden!
From the charged accumulators... We just need to make sure we don't fully drain them in one go, and give the steam engines time to recharge them inbetween laser attacks (the base will be mostly idle so we'll have surplus steam power to recharge the accumulators)
This solution is largely for offensive use. Laser turrets have a fairly high drain power (not large individually, but when you have 1000 it adds up quickly). My first attempt at a mega base had nothing by double or triple layer walls of lasers, and by the end I had over 20k turrets, which is a 2x2 nuclear setup just for powering lasers. Unless you are playing an impossible challenge, it is a good idea to 4x your power capacity before using lasers. Better yet, nuclear power first, lasers second.
Another fantastic episode. As much as you did a great job building suspense around 'do we have enough iron?', I've watched enough of your videos to know you would have meticulously calculated everything. I guess the question now is: Will the 200 turrets you calculated for be enough? Can't wait to find out next week!
This is literally the best Factorio series out there. Usually I turn these up in the background and fall asleep. Sitting at the edge of my seat with this one though! Great editing work man! Fantastic work with this series (I find the older ones a bit harder to watch as they are not voiced =( )

And yes, there should be a mask for the armor to protect the player from pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. Plus, maybe a way to harvest silicon and other materials from volcanos...since this is factorio -> slap a giant exhaust hood over the volcano lol. Love the mario coin soundbites :) P.s. the "p" is silent, a bit more "new" instead of "p-neu" (even with British English afaik) (I've several family members with health care background). Credit though for pronouncing it way better than almost all english speakers :)

I started playing Factorio recently and after a few failed attempts I started a DW run with your series as inspiration. Went a little easier on the settings but having the pressure has helped me focus better. Thanks for keeping this series going!

You could weave power and a few yellow belts between those biter encampments. The gap might need widening but there's a clear path west on that isthmus between the lakes and then through the forest. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
