Amazing to see them cranking out 64 second laps looking like it’s a group Sunday fun run.
Only runners truly appreciate this my friend
I was a 400/400H runner at WSU back in the day...watching Bernard Lagat crank out 20 x 400 repeats at faster than my top speed. Humbling for sure...seriously gracious dude though
Kipchoge did that for 2 hours
That was brutal. Those guys are beasts. Give Ebenyo a chance despite the fall.
I hope he gets the wild card
Kipkorir trues his best to maake ebenyo lead but those guys are fire
Ebenyo is the best
Ebenyo is very consistent, I hope he gets a chance.
Ebenyo is a half marathon beast they should let him run 10k for kenya
Ebenyo should be given a chance to represent Kenya in Paris. Definitely he'll deliver a medal.
YEs,
It should be Daniel Mateiko, Nicholas Kimeli and DAniel Simiu Ebenyo.
Kibet, the third guy, should be axed. I know it is painful but Ebenyo needs to be on the team. Sorry Kibet.
นักวิ่งระยะไกล หาผิวขาวและเหลืองไม่เจอ
Well done, mateko:!❤🎉🇰🇪 With that leading time, you should definitely deliver the gold medal for us in Paris this summer! And the silver to ebenyo!❤🎉
The legs, wooow. Impressive from these young men.
❤ South Africa 🇿🇦
A BEAUTIFUL SITE TO BEHOLD, A PACK OF KINGS!
All the way from Kenya congratulations 🎉🎉
Well done guys 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Congratulations from neighbors Ethiopian
Good job guys Olympics in Paris will be 🔥🔥Kenyans never disappoints.go 🇰🇪 🇰🇪🇰🇪🎉🎊🍾.
Those guys are monsters….great race!
Amazing my heart is bleeding lm thinking about kiptum when isee you guys running congratulations to the winner
Ebenyo keep it up the sky is the limit
Absolutely delighted for Mateiko, what a brilliant runner he is - I'm sure he and Kiptum were close so that will have been a huge loss for him - glad to see him getting some time in the limelight
Ebenyo is the real man here he finishes the race ❤❤❤
I remember seeing Billy Mills win in Tokyo in 1964 with that astonishing final kick........
Congratulations Kurgat for the 4th position. I am happy for you brother
Proud to be Kenyan🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Seems that most Kenyans migrated to the USA at this time of the year
If you had a President like Ruto, you'd leave too.
Congragulations kipkorir, that effort is more fire
love seeing more diversity in track! Bravo! :)
We need a middle aged white lady HR manager named Karen to implement DEI protocols into the men's 10,000
Best comment I’ve read today.
What diversity? It’s all Kenya
Since you want to see white people running for Kenya, let me just say this; people of Asian and European (caucasian) origin in Kenya are estimated at 0.3%.
Yes, 0.3%.
Diversity, what diversity?? They're all Kenyans
Anyone who makes this team is good enough for a medal in Paris
Ebenyo will remain my champion despite of the fall
HE will be on the team. Believe me.
If he doesn't, I'll weep.
Kelvin Kiptum is happy for Mateiko his pacer
Let Ebenyo be among our representatives ,he was doing good till he fell
Felicidades para mi generación actual
Brutal - the guy in the blue runs such a great race yet three guys has him on the home straight - he’s run a 26:52!!!
Thanks for spoiling
@@thundergun933 You spoiled it for yourself by reading the comments. And you soiled yourself by leaving that comment.
Plus looks like he's in racing flats vs spikes
@@thundergun933
Why would you come to the comments section if you don't want to know the results beforehand? That's puzzling of you.
@@nativeson1559 you're absolutely right. I'm constantly disappointed by people thinking they have manners and decency.
Oh this kenyan championship is good.
I love you all good job🎉🎉🎉🎉
you guys are in really good shape
All of them did well .
I join my friends in demanding that Ebenyo be given chance to represent the country in the Olympics
bravo ..speed and fower full
That is how competitive kenyan trials are, Paris here we come
Too bad their President does not have the same winning spirit.
@@hamb4945 politicians have always lead us doen

The guy who fell was my favorite. 😢
That’s how you run ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

I support ebenyo too
The introduction is lit😂they have all won something
Kenyan Athletes are the most patriotic Kenyan citizens.
ronald kwemoi is actually u20 world record holder of the 1500m in 3:28 wild sad to see he has not improved ever since
Yeah, I’d forgotten about him until now. He seemed like possible the next big thing - Renato Conova predicted Olympic gold for him, right?
He has done some great races (including 3000m). But he has never lived up to his insane 3:28.81 at only 18 years of age. Some people peak early or burn out. He might have an incorrect birthdate listed too.
poor trainning
Well done team kenya.....I like the finishing of this young man Kibet! Kipkorir has also improve finishing......kudos mateiko.....But give Ebenyo and Mburu also chance they are performers.
Maybe Ebenyo.Mburu unfortunately is out of shape.
Thats why iwas born in Kenya
Здорово молодцы!!! 😢❤
That finish was 🔥 🎉 🏃♂️ 💨
I see legendary Former Marathon Runners Paul Tergat and Tegla Lorupe
Kenya Olympic trial
I'm so confused by this race. Why did it take place at the Prefontaine Classic?
Congratulations from neighbors Ethiopian, great job.
@@PatNeedhamUSA Probably cause its an offical race with proper timing technology, pacers etc. Poor african countries probably just accept the results instead of sanctioning their own race. Idk man
@@PatNeedhamUSA 💲💲💲 Fairly sure Nike paid some dollars to Athletics Kenya to sponsor their trials. Kenya gets their trials and Nike gets a fast and exciting race. Win, win.
Damn 🎉
Congratulations Kenyans! This is my first time seeing long distance with no Ethiopians 😅. Where are they ?
It was Kenyan trials for Paris Olympics
Why aren't the Kenyan 10,000m events taking place in Nairobi like the other events?
Nairobi is in high altitude in that they won't have met the Olympic qualifying time that's 27mins
This time 26 :50:81 is probably no repeat in Paris Olympic Games
Congratulations! ❤🎉
I think this are our best unless someone else prove it wrong through running..amin set your own record to surpass what i see here
Молодец! Красивая победа!
Its Kenya vs Kenya race,wow❤!
Running like gazel with the spirit of a lion
Nike owns the Kenyan distance running determinations for Olympic and World Championships teams. The reason their trials are at the Prefontaine Classic because Portland is the home of Nike. Nike gives over a million dollars a year to the Keynan government to support track and cross country development programs. In return Kenya always holds open a third individual to be determined not by their trials but by their Athletic Authority. At least 10 times since 2016 Nike sponsored athletes were chosen over other athletes sponsored by Adidas, New Balance and other companies. Most of these are egregious selections over athletes that were much superior beating the chosen Nike athlete with way better times in their respective events. That is why the Keynan man finishing 3rd by 3/4th of a second in a top 5 time in the world this year did not automatically selected. The same is true with the third placed Keynan woman in a World Record 10K.
Very disturbing. This is what is called an "athletic monopoly" in Kenya. Where the athlete is fully controlled by the shoe company (Nike) and with full approval of the government (they get the money) so the other athlete (for other shoe companies-Adidas, New Balance) still will be out of the championship level (Olympics, world championship etc.) competitions and has no recourse to sue either the shoe company (Nike) and/or the Kenyan government. There is no chance of having an anti-trust suit against them. Practically Nike and the Kenyan government have surreptitiously "unionized" athletics in Kenya. They are the athletic mobsters, the mafia, the Cosa Nostra of running in Kenya. What a travesty.
Not true.
Our stadia are undergoing renovation and the others are not approved for any official certification like timing e.t.c.
We needed guys to make qualifyin gtimes. That was the reason.
Anything else is fake news. Propaganda or in Kiswahili, porojo.
And that's why you see alot of guys prefer road racing....go out there you know you good and win road races and put your name on the map...when you running leading times they have nothing to say to you....They had tried to keep the late wanjiru out of team...he run around winning 4 marathons with top times and they had no choice but to put him in, i think wanjru was an addidas athlete...though he started under Japanese sponsored company mizuko or something...and olympics proved he was the best athlete out there on the roads...he won first marathon for kenya in Beijing...which is crazy with so many great athletes at times i feel like we have not been sending the best athletes..
@@nativeson1559 That is BS. They could have held their trials in Africa or any Diamond League event. They did it at the Prefontaine Classic because Nike is headquartered in Portland. This has been going on for years and is well documented
I think the loud speaker commentary is distracting. Some announcements are ok but not continuous blabbing !
Tremendo final
For me, only the top four should have raced. If you got lapped, you knew you didn't have a chance. I'm speaking as someone who wants the best time.
Give Ebenyo a chance. He was the man to watch, but he fell.
They burnt pace setters so early 😂😂😂😂😂❤
i’m curious as to what Kibets bodyweight is.
When the runners started passing the second pacer (Knevelbaard) he should have step off the track right rather than force runners to go around him. He had plenty of room to do that going into the first turn after they started passing (at 13:37 into the video and 10:15 into the race) and sufficient room the straightaway before that, but elected to continue for another lap. Blocking is the cardinal sin for a pacer. He led for less than 1.5 laps, kind of pathetic. I think they told him they needed 64s per lap and he was at 64.5 his first lap leading. You can see them asking him to get out the way but he hand gestures back as if he's saying he can't, but there was room for him to. The first guy (AJ Ernst) did fine for 8 laps.
Why are they needed? Forgive my ignorance.
Most runners and people attending track invitationals want FAST performances. Pacesetters are hired to facilitate that by drawing the race out at a fast and consistent pace.
@@hamb4945it is also mentally much easier to run with a pacer and just concentrate on not loosing contact.
He seems to be quite exactly on the blue light as he should be.
Love it.❤
Mateiko man to watch
By setting the Olympic standard at 27:00 they've kind of ensured that hardly anyone will be running in Paris, although amazingly 3 Americans have the time.
Kenyan born Americans?
@@paulnjeule2510nope, they are all white. Grant Fisher, Nico Young, and William Kincaid

So upsetting seeing people getting lapped but refusing to move to the 2nd or 3rd lane. Get out of the way if you can't keep up.
Yeah if you're getting lapped in an Olympic trial you've gone horribly wrong and you're best off leaving the field
@@joelmacinnes2391 for the 10k it’s actually not totally unreasonable that someone would get lapped or close to it but they should still move out of lane 1

lap runners should drop out and keep the track clear
Ebenyo is the only strong choice to match Ethiopia currently irregardless. Can't bet on the rest
Mateiko is super talented. And FYI Ethiopians aren't at their best since last season.

They are all Kenyans 😮😮😮
How ould you like running under 27 minutes and not make the Kenyan Team. How are you feeling today Pre? Glad im running for America and not the Kenyan team. Makes my job easier.
Again African Domination unusual NO a different Physiology.
Took them until the 90s to figure out they had an advantage. Lets give thanks to the founding fathers of road races. Without them, money would have never entered into the sport, and with no money, Kenyans wouldn't even be running.
Too bad that spirit does not transfer to most of the African Leaders.
@@charliewatkins4571 Sadly Kenyan runners are being caught using EPO in fact New Zealand runner Zane Robertson who trained in kenya has now been banned for doping for 8 yrs a career gone just recently.
LINDO E EM PARCERIA?
white runners are the pacers....lol.
I could pace them for about 100 meters
Why do they need pacers? Have these runners not practiced and know what they are doing? Maybe their time would have been faster without the pacers? I say, let it happen natrually, not someone setting the pace for you.
Which kenian was on the olymic podium again?
I am really looking for 200m for men
What caused him to fall?
Who were the 2 white runners? Why did they drop out one by one?
They are pace makers. They are paid to set a specific pace for the first few laps
Isn't it courtesty for lapped runners to move to the outside? Maybe it is just safest to stay one lane out but It nearly caused interference. 29:53-57
Mateiko
A corrida de são Silvestre só ter brilho quando acabar com essa história de pelotão de elite, com essa descriminação!!!!

They should’ve just held the classic Africa 🤷
Was this a core event?
Africa is NOT a country.
Why do you people always make this silly mistake/statement?
They "kenyan" buying all the ticket before sunrise
They are all kenyans
I was wrong, apparently I am watching the African national championship, all the organizers and managers and sponsorships have become mercenaries, for a few dollars we have all of Africa in each Desmond league
It’s a national championship trials for the Olympics
No one has corrupt Kenya
Desmond owns a league?
I must be reading the wrong things.
