@@MindfulMotorcyclist I was born in China, and in the past few years, my family and I have spent half of our time living in China and half of our time living in the United States. Currently, my family and I live happily and happily in China. I bought a 500AC last year, and I have a Z900 in the United States. These two motorcycles are both great!
Having the pleasure of riding this bike in Cyprus at the moment. I love it. My bike at home is a 2018 Crf1000l. I can see .myself having this as my main commuter and keeping the AT for long rides/tours. Only things I would look to immediately upgrade are; exhaust and suspension. Suspension feels a bit stiff for my liking. Maybe from coming off the AT its more noticeable. However, a great fun bike to ride for just over £5k. Definitely worth consideration
@MindfulMotorcyclist How? That's a crazy discount. Although I know the club I borrowed this one from paid for x2 500ac and x2 300ds £15000 for all 4 bikes.
Vowww, what a fantastic looking bike for new riders like me 🤪 As a 50 years old beginner, will you recommend this beauty as a first bike for commuting and some small touring trips!? Really like the look, the sound and your review is excellent 👍 Thanx and cheers from Serbia 🇷🇸
Hi Alen, thanks for your comment and question. It's a lively bike with quite a perky little engine and perfect for a beginner. It would be fantastic for commuting and for some short touring trips. Check you can buy panniers and luggage for it however. If you are not bother about the look the the Voge 500DS is also good for commuting and better for touring. Be wary though both bikes are from a Chinese brand that is not as established as European and Japanese motorcycle brands and so the dealer support will not be as consistent. Something to bear in mind. Triumph Trident 660 looks very similar to this bike if your budget can allow then I say also consider this option. Thanks
Hi Lex thanks very kind of you thanks for the comment. I recently ordered from Voge (not the 500AC) but I've been really happy with the brand, the experience and also the machine itself. The AC is very well put together in the metal, its a lovely thing. I expect you won't be disappointed.
The Voge 500AC looks absolutely fantastic, I am currently riding a Lexmoto Michigan 125cc, it is an absolutely fantastic bike, if I can pass my test and get a full motorcycle licence I am seriously thinking about purchasing one of these bikes. The only thing that is making me think a little bit is that it is similar in price and looks to the Honda CB500 which sell for about the same price new. Which is the better bike to purchase?
Hi Michael, thanks for the comment. I'm glad you are enjoying the Michigan 125. Yes the Voge is really really nice up close, I was surprised at the quality. It's a lot of fun to ride as well. Regarding the Honda CB500 if you had asked me this 6 months ago then I would have said the Voge easily but in 2022 the new CB500 has been upgraded with dual discs up front and Showa SFF USD forks (the 2021 model has single disc) now for £5999. This makes it closer/equal to the Voge in spec. The engine is identical, perhaps the Voge is a tiny bit quicker and the Voge comes with a TFT and not an LCD like the Honda, the parts for the Voge should you drop it are also way cheaper. The Honda for it's part will have more dealers and better resale values. I guess test ride both but it would be a close one!
The key question here, is will these be around in 5 years and given the price of em, will you be able to get parts, especially if you look at the likes of the lexmoto LXR 380 one year and discontinued, with only a few sold what is the chance of parts in a year on, it's a big gamble with a six thousand pounds investment I'd say
Hi Kevin, As you say the LXR380 wasn't a big seller and was pulled. There are however 535 individual parts listed under the LXR380 at CMPO, so it looks as if parts availability is high (as well as being extremely affordable). Given the likely cross-compatibility to other LXR model (including the 125 which was best selling sports bike in UK last year) there should be some overlap. It will take the Chinese brands some time to build up a reputation with the larger displacement motorcycles and time will tell!
@@MindfulMotorcyclist indeed, but my point is that it's a fairly expensive gamble for a lot of people who want to know that they will have backup after the initial purchase and for years to come, but as you say it will take time to get over the huge prejudice on chinese bikes and retailers who sell em
I will do a longer termer on my bike the Voge 500 DSX which shared the engine of this one I've done 5400 miles now. The AC would be a good commuter yes, there's a few for sale at £4.7k very good value, because they are bringing out a 525...
@@IIshadowriderII I hate to say this but it probably doesn't exist for the 500AC unless you are to look in Italian for a review from that region where these bikes are more popular. The engine I'm sure will be fine based on mine. I have some rusting and tarnishing on my bike but the AC doesn't have spoked wheels. See the latest video I am uploading today, just a Vlog not a review...
Hi bakengKong. Thanks for the comment, I didn't notice any delay and in fact the dash on the Voge 500AC is nicer than the one on my bike the 500DSX, same size just a more urban fresher graphics. The auto darken function is nice as well, there's a light sensor which flips the TFT to dark mode to prevent blinding you. Hope that helps, Sean
@@MindfulMotorcyclist i got it 2 months ago, i have a playlist of videos since taking it out from the store, not entirely in english. It's been great so far, I've had a radiator guard and sliders installed, upgraded the horns and installed aux lights too. Cheers!
Hi Rob, it's a comparison made worse when you consider that the CB500F was recently upgraded with showa SFF inverted forks and twin discs up front for 2022. Before that the Voge certainly had the edge.
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Yes, absolutely true. Plus Voge's own 500DS is £400 cheaper but feels like it should be more due to all the fairings and screen etc. The AC's price needed to start with a 4 really which is a shame as I really want these new Chinese bikes to do well enough to shake up the big companies a bit.
@@robhall5622 I do as well Rob, personally I am a fan of cheaper back to basics motorcycling and I love an underdog so for me the Voge ethos of coming in cheap with quality components makes me smile. Hi John, thanks for this comment and sorry for the delayed response. I respectfully disagree here. China's foreign policy is isolationist and generally adopts a self defense posture after the Sino-British War and the 1937 invasion of Manchuria by imperial Japan. They have very few overseas military installations and no blue water naval capacity even today. These days they are more concerned with expanding their influence in Africa, economic growth and military hold over the self China Sea (9 dash line) and muting the power of the US 7th Fleet in their back yard. Taiwan is of course one area of concern as is intellectual property rights, cyber warfare, expanding their nuclear forces and internal repression of their population (I'm sure others might be able to add to this list). In my view and it is only a view they have no interest in military expansion on a global level. Bit of a long answer but Geopolitics is a pastime! Thanks.
Can't wait to watch this when it premiers tomorrow! 😍
