I have a tenant Indian family of eight (the contract was 4 people)for two years. Recently; they finally moved out and my house is very smelly from the cooking. Even though the tenant hired the painters repainted all over the house with a large size of the air filtering Machine but the smell still there! Now I have a hard time to rent out the house again because of the smells! I’ve learned a hard lesson…
Your experience isn't uncommon for exotic spices in cooking. Clean clean clean the area, getting rid of all oil, and replace the microwave/vent hood, which are filled with oil, like an oil diffuser.
Painting over odors is the biggest mistake people make--the odors should be neutralized before painting.

I am just going the same thing it started of with two tenants then they brought in an extra 3 and I cant let the place out until its cleaned out , I am having the trouble with the food smells

I know! Now we can get those odors taken care of! I'm also willing to purchase the home in question and do the odors and flip it.
I live above a Venezuelan family. They eat lots of oily meet. I don’t eat meat and the smell comes into my unit. It’s almost maddening. Everything things smells like rancid oil. What can I do to prevent the smell from coming into my unit?
Maybe switch apartments with them? Those oils and odors are in the air, floating up to you, and also falling down.
For a tiny bit of relief, you can make the air flow in your unit always out, drawing air from a source that isn't filled with the odor--a box fan in the window pushing air out of your unit will pull air from somewhere, so maybe the other side of your unit has a window that isn't getting cooking odors coming in?
Any time the odor source stays present or is reintroduced the odor will remain. Negative pressure in your unit will help a bit, but that smell is there for as long as they keep cooking.

When I buy a home, I want a closed kitchen with a door that I can close behind me! No top kitchen cabinets.

Burnt food odors can be tough, especially if it happened with the AC running, because it travels through the ducts.
We would do the same treatment as we did here for the curry odors.
How severe are the odors? Are they only in the kitchen?
@Status1200 True--this is probably the most difficult odor to get rid of. Pro-tip: get rid of the over-the-range microwave or hood.

I came here to find our the same! our neighbours below us cook the most foul smelling food. Now my lovely flat stinks SO bad because of them. Their landlord refuses to help.

Hello! I hope all is well! What’s the name of the product used? Are there companies that do this service or is this a DIY only. Thank you! We have a similar size place, the kitchen and bedroom above smell like curry.

These are not DIY chemicals, and you really need to be well-versed with them--it's all non-toxic, but they can be irritants, so protective gear is a must.

Thanks for the email. I have calls in to people I think are near you. I'll let you know when I hear back from them--they'll need to treat the whole home since odors get embedded into HVAC systems and the ductwork, so those get treated in the process.
