Happy Monday to the UK4, you were lucky the brick didn't come through 😢. Looks like you will get to see lots of trees and trucks on the Alaska Hwy. I was nervous when you saw the moose and got out,then the movement in the trees. They can be very aggressive especially if they have a calf with them. Be careful ❤ Happy birthday River❤. So smores are a favorite I see. I used to watch ice road truckers all the time. Take care Chessna,Ben,River and Scout.
Hey Ellie, ah don't worry about the moose! We were right next to the open door of the van and were aware of where it was. To be honest, we only got out because we thought she had left! And yep, that rock was a big one. Could almost poke a hole through the bullseye!

Great Q&A. I got my question answered. And yes, would love it if you did a podcast. Glad you two get to take a 3 week break, you don't want to get burnt out, get some R & R and enjoy your families. I bet everyone is anxious to meet Scout. I got my new ebike on Tues. and it is sooo much fun, I love it. We are all struggling to get vans here in the US. Like many I put an order in for one but now they are saying it might not come till the end of the year. Instead, I have been searching for already made campervans. So, I keep my eyes searching daily for either a van or a campervan. My friend in Denver is doing the same thing so we try and help one another. Sounds like Sophia is getting in some good care too before the next trip. Too bad you can't have a steering wheel on each side,you could travel through any country you want, someone needs to invent that. Take care you four, look forward to hearing from you in 3 weeks time. Yep Scout will have a little welcome party when we get back! My mum has a new pup too that we haven’t met yet, so it’s going to be full on with them all meeting each other for the first time 😅 Such a pain about the van and the wait time! Such a lovely intro! So many memories in a relatively short time. Loved it! Enjoy your time offline, a well-deserved break. Ben, while you're in the southwest, you might want to look into Marfa, TX. A lot of similar UFO/unexplained phenomena in it history like Roswell, but not as touristy.

I think you’ve done an amazing journey, I loved every minute, so many decent people, so much good food and an amazing new member to join you all! the introduction was so good. Turkey wasn’t on my radar for travel but since your videos I’m definitely heading for it. And Greece too! I do think Sophia mark 2 was better for the space.. visit the ufo museum! Great idea.. the 5 year plan? Who knows, I don’t think anyone can accurately answer this.. it’s been a great time.. and Scout and River are your kids 👌👍.

You will enjoy Canada - it would be great if you could ship the van to the East Coast of Canada, and take it from there...Some of USA is great - not sure why so many van travelers want to go to Mexico!! Lived in Canada for a long time, but have never wanted to go to Mexico....you can't even drink the water, - and also have good health insurance...also the cost of medical treatment in the US is just perhaps the most expensive in the world... Good luck on the new trip...
We are shipping to the east coast of Canada! We’ll be shipping into Halifax. Regards Mexico, we just love to travel and experience new cultures and ways of life. In Turkey we couldn’t drink the tap water but that’s nothing in the grand scheme of being there and experiencing the people, the food, the weather, the landscapes. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, or something like that 😉💞
My husband had to go to roswell. Was disappointed when the crash site tour was canceled. Said he wanted to be abducted. Told him he had to sleep out in the desert not in his motel room for that. Roswell is tourist trap not worth the trip unless you are already traveling there. What is worth the trip is Carlsbad caverns south of roswell. Amazing.

Thank you Sally! Can’t believe it’s not long before the new trip and videos start. This break is flying by! And yes, we love our Caxton. Looked at Revolut but they have monthly withdrawal limits etc, Caxton is the only one we find works almost exactly the same as a normal card! Used it from Laos to South Korea and Turkey and it’s not let us down once 🥰 xx

My partner and I have been on our first big trip to Scotland. We've been up here for 7 weeks so far with a few left to go. How do you find balancing travel and general living and working? Do you try and give yourselves dedicated off days to either work or have a day of just nothing in particular? I feel like we've been non stop almost every day and it's a toss up between making the most of your time or just living I guess. Thanks both!
Hey Sam, thank you for the kind words! Aha that is the million dollar question! We work for ourselves so it's really easy to get this balance completely wrong, as we don't have any schedules to stick to. We try and do work every morning, ideally for 4 hours or so. We try and take one full day off (no youtube, no work, no exploring) but it's not often we stick to it. We're still trying to get the balance right but we're getting better the longer we do it. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourselves and just re-assess every now and then to make sure you feel like you're enjoying yourselves xx 💕

So great to see you once more! How easy do think it will be to take the dogs to Canada? Especially Scout being just rescued and new to the life you've provided for him? The vet has medication for pet travel would you consider that? I wish you all nothing but the best and enjoy your three weeks off, well still be here!
It should be relatively straightforward! They’re both young, confident dogs and this will help massively. We can get medication too just to help keep them calm. Need to train them in the crate as soon as we get home! They’re ready and waiting for them at Ben’s mums! 🙌 xx

Thanks so much! Really enjoyed editing that intro 🥰💛 We use a company called Rent n Connect. They provide a mobile hotspot with a global SIM, it’s been giving us unlimited high speed internet for the whole trip! We’ve mentioned them a few times as we are partnered with them, and you always find a link to them in our description. Couldn’t recommend them enough 🙏
Hahaha. The kids question always comes up, doesn't it?. I just say that my furry kids are more than enough for me. When you are finished in the area of Roswell, head south to Marfa for viewing the Marfa Lights. Then head over to Big Bend National Park and the area just to the north of that. DM me when you are in the neighborhood there for more detailed suggestions of what to see. I used to spend a couple of weeks in that area every year ... Edit: I forgot to mention that this is another great vid.

Totally with you on Greece and travelled there many times over the years and also wanted to work or retire there eventually, but austerity changes C'd and lockdowns et al totally messed that up! Others have found that the cost of shipping is so expensive, that they have bought another van in North America, used for the trip, then sold at the end. Have you considered that option?
Hey Barry! I don’t know who they are shipping with but for us to ship Sophia to Canada is far, far cheaper than buying a van. You’re looking at around £3000, even with port fees etc it’s still much less expensive than buying a van out there. Plus, Sophia is our home, our dream is to drive her around the world. We couldn’t cheat on her with an American van 😅💛
@@OverlandingSophia Fair enough- I think they were quoted nearer £10k to the US. I know shipping costs have been affected a lot by Covid, so it could be related to that too. Either way, good luck, looking forward to those UFOs!

Yes exactly! Don’t know if you saw in the video but we will have to ship from Mexico to Colombia because RHD vehicles aren’t allowed in Costa Rica. A bit of a pain but we’d still have to ship around the Darien Gap anyway, as you say! All part of the adventure eh 😆 xx
@Overlanding Sophia not really turned out, it may have been the new stealth jet they were testing back in the day. Other people claimed they had sitings when they were younger. When I lived there, the now 👽 museum was a movie theater, and the alien gift shop was a Radio Shack. When the 7 plant bus manufacturing plants closed that were at the old air force military base, Roswell got resourceful. I remember seeing the test landing of the 747 on that base runway (1970'ish). Visit the airplane boneyard if it's your thing. Try to visit the bottomless lakes just east of Roswell. When I was younger😉 we used to clift jump into the Devils Inkwell...so crazy now that I think about it. There are 8 or 9 lakes, only one you can swim in now (probably because of us crazy people). They may still have camping from May through September Watch out for rattlesnakes in the summer. Beautiful mountains and towns to the west that won't disappoint, Lincoln, made famous from the violent Lincoln County War, Billy the Kid & Pat Garrett. Ruidoso has seasonal horse racing and great hole in the wall restaurants. Skiing in the winter. Happy safe travels.

I was nervous when you saw the moose and got out,then the movement in the trees. They can be very aggressive especially if they have a calf with them. Be careful ❤ Happy birthday River❤. Hey Ellie, ah don't worry about the moose! We were right next to the open door of the van and were aware of where it was. To be honest, we only got out because we thought she had left! And yep, that rock was a big one. Could almost poke a hole through the bullseye!

Great Q&A. I got my question answered. And yes, would love it if you did a podcast. Glad you two get to take a 3 week break, you don't want to get burnt out, get some R & R and enjoy your families. I bet everyone is anxious to meet Scout. I got my new ebike on Tues. and it is sooo much fun, I love it. We are all struggling to get vans here in the US. Like many I put an order in for one but now they are saying it might not come till the end of the year. Instead, I have been searching for already made campervans. So, I keep my eyes searching daily for either a van or a campervan. My friend in Denver is doing the same thing so we try and help one another. Sounds like Sophia is getting in some good care too before the next trip. Too bad you can't have a steering wheel on each side,you could travel through any country you want, someone needs to invent that. Take care you four, look forward to hearing from you in 3 weeks time. Ben, while you're in the southwest, you might want to look into Marfa, TX. A lot of similar UFO/unexplained phenomena in it history like Roswell, but not as touristy.

I think you’ve done an amazing journey, I loved every minute, so many decent people, so much good food and an amazing new member to join you all! the introduction was so good. Turkey wasn’t on my radar for travel but since your videos I’m definitely heading for it. And Greece too! I do think Sophia mark 2 was better for the space.. visit the ufo museum! Great idea.. the 5 year plan? Who knows, I don’t think anyone can accurately answer this.. it’s been a great time.. and Scout and River are your kids 👌👍.

You will enjoy Canada - it would be great if you could ship the van to the East Coast of Canada, and take it from there...Some of USA is great - not sure why so many van travelers want to go to Mexico!! Lived in Canada for a long time, but have never wanted to go to Mexico....you can't even drink the water, - and also have good health insurance...also the cost of medical treatment in the US is just perhaps the most expensive in the world... Good luck on the new trip...
We are shipping to the east coast of Canada! We’ll be shipping into Halifax. Regards Mexico, we just love to travel and experience new cultures and ways of life. In Turkey we couldn’t drink the tap water but that’s nothing in the grand scheme of being there and experiencing the people, the food, the weather, the landscapes. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, or something like that 😉💞

My husband had to go to roswell. Was disappointed when the crash site tour was canceled. Said he wanted to be abducted. Told him he had to sleep out in the desert not in his motel room for that. Roswell is tourist trap not worth the trip unless you are already traveling there. What is worth the trip is Carlsbad caverns south of roswell. Amazing.

Looked at Revolut but they have monthly withdrawal limits etc, Caxton is the only one we find works almost exactly the same as a normal card! Used it from Laos to South Korea and Turkey and it’s not let us down once 🥰 xx

I do have a question though as well. My partner and I have been on our first big trip to Scotland. We've been up here for 7 weeks so far with a few left to go. How do you find balancing travel and general living and working? Do you try and give yourselves dedicated off days to either work or have a day of just nothing in particular? I feel like we've been non stop almost every day and it's a toss up between making the most of your time or just living I guess. Thanks both!
Hey Sam, thank you for the kind words! Aha that is the million dollar question! We work for ourselves so it's really easy to get this balance completely wrong, as we don't have any schedules to stick to. We try and do work every morning, ideally for 4 hours or so. We try and take one full day off (no youtube, no work, no exploring) but it's not often we stick to it. We're still trying to get the balance right but we're getting better the longer we do it. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourselves and just re-assess every now and then to make sure you feel like you're enjoying yourselves xx 💕

It should be relatively straightforward! They’re both young, confident dogs and this will help massively. We can get medication too just to help keep them calm. Need to train them in the crate as soon as we get home! They’re ready and waiting for them at Ben’s mums! 🙌 xx

They provide a mobile hotspot with a global SIM, it’s been giving us unlimited high speed internet for the whole trip! We’ve mentioned them a few times as we are partnered with them, and you always find a link to them in our description. Couldn’t recommend them enough 🙏

When you are finished in the area of Roswell, head south to Marfa for viewing the Marfa Lights. Then head over to Big Bend National Park and the area just to the north of that. DM me when you are in the neighborhood there for more detailed suggestions of what to see. I used to spend a couple of weeks in that area every year ...

Others have found that the cost of shipping is so expensive, that they have bought another van in North America, used for the trip, then sold at the end. Have you considered that option?
Hey Barry! I don’t know who they are shipping with but for us to ship Sophia to Canada is far, far cheaper than buying a van. You’re looking at around £3000, even with port fees etc it’s still much less expensive than buying a van out there. Plus, Sophia is our home, our dream is to drive her around the world. We couldn’t cheat on her with an American van 😅💛

Yes exactly! Don’t know if you saw in the video but we will have to ship from Mexico to Colombia because RHD vehicles aren’t allowed in Costa Rica. A bit of a pain but we’d still have to ship around the Darien Gap anyway, as you say! All part of the adventure eh 😆 xx

@Overlanding Sophia not really turned out, it may have been the new stealth jet they were testing back in the day. Other people claimed they had sitings when they were younger. When I lived there, the now 👽 museum was a movie theater, and the alien gift shop was a Radio Shack. When the 7 plant bus manufacturing plants closed that were at the old air force military base, Roswell got resourceful. I remember seeing the test landing of the 747 on that base runway (1970'ish). Visit the airplane boneyard if it's your thing.
Try to visit the bottomless lakes just east of Roswell. When I was younger😉 we used to clift jump into the Devils Inkwell...so crazy now that I think about it. There are 8 or 9 lakes, only one you can swim in now (probably because of us crazy people). They may still have camping from May through September
Watch out for rattlesnakes in the summer. Beautiful mountains and towns to the west that won't disappoint, Lincoln, made famous from the violent Lincoln County War, Billy the Kid & Pat Garrett. Ruidoso has seasonal horse racing and great hole in the wall restaurants. Skiing in the winter.
