White goat from Rasquera. Rasquera, Tarragona

We visited one of the last herds of white goat from Rasquera. Formerly this town in the province of Tarragona was famous for its cattle fair of white goat and lamb fardasca. Today this millenary activity disappears.
The white goat of Rasquera is related to other Mediterranean populations of white goats such as Blanca de Catí (Castellón), Blanca Celtiberica (Almeria and Murcia), the Algarvian goat (Portugal).
The white goat of Rasquera also reminds the goat of Rove and other populations of southern Italy.
One of the elements that most characterizes it are its ears, which must be hanging and long and fluted antlers and capricious shapes.
